मत्ती 16
1 तब फ़रीसी और सदूकी येशु के पास आए और उनको परखने के लिए उन्हें स्वर्ग से कोई अद्भुत चिह्न दिखाने को कहा.
And the Pharisees and Sadducees came to try him, and asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
2 येशु ने उनसे कहा, “सायंकाल होने पर तुम कहते हो कि मौसम अनुकूल रहेगा क्योंकि आकाश में लालिमा है.
And he answering said to them, When it is evening, ye say, Fair weather! for the sky is red.
3 इसी प्रकार प्रातःकाल तुम कहते हो कि आज आंधी आएगी क्योंकि आकाश धूमिल है और आकाश में लालिमा है. तुम आकाश के स्वरूप को तो पहचान लेते हो किंतु वर्तमान समय के चिह्नों को नहीं!
And in the morning, A storm today! for the sky is red and lowering. Ye know how to judge of the face of the sky, and can ye not discern the signs of the times?
4 व्यभिचारी और परमेश्वर के प्रति निष्ठाहीन पीढ़ी चिह्न खोजती है किंतु इसे योनाह के चिह्न के अतिरिक्त और कोई चिह्न नहीं दिया जाएगा.” और येशु उन्हें वहीं छोड़कर चले गए.
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and no sign will be given to it, but the sign of Jonah. And he left them and went away.
5 झील की दूसरी ओर पहुंचने पर शिष्यों ने पाया कि वे अपने साथ भोजन रखना भूल गए थे.
And the disciples having come to the other side, had forgotten to take bread.
6 उसी समय येशु ने उन्हें चेतावनी देते हुए कहा, “फ़रीसियों और सदूकियों के खमीर से सावधान रहना.”
And Jesus said to them, Take heed, and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
7 इस पर शिष्य आपस में विचार-विमर्श करने लगे, “क्या प्रभु ने यह इसलिये कहा है कि हम भोजन साथ लाना भूल गए?”
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we took no bread.
8 येशु उनकी स्थिति से अवगत थे, इसलिये उन्होंने शिष्यों से कहा, “अरे अल्पविश्वासियो! क्यों इस विवाद में उलझे हुए हो कि तुम्हारे पास भोजन नहीं है?
And Jesus knowing it, said, Why are ye reasoning among yourselves, ye of little faith, because ye took no bread?
9 क्या तुम्हें अब भी समझ नहीं आया? क्या तुम्हें पांच हज़ार के लिए पांच रोटियां याद नहीं? तुमने वहां शेष रोटियों से भरे कितने टोकरे उठाए थे?
Do ye not yet understand, nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
10 या चार हज़ार के लिए वे सात रोटियां, तुमने वहां शेष रोटियों से भरे कितने टोकरे उठाए थे?
Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11 भला कैसे यह तुम्हारी समझ से परे है कि यहां मैंने भोजन का वर्णन नहीं किया है? परंतु यह कि मैंने तुम्हें फ़रीसियों और सदूकियों के खमीर से सावधान किया है.”
How is it that ye do not understand, that I spoke not to you of loaves? But [[I said]] Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
12 तब उन्हें यह विषय समझ में आया कि येशु रोटी के खमीर का नहीं परंतु फ़रीसियों और सदूकियों की गलत शिक्षा का वर्णन कर रहे थे.
Then they understood, that he did not bid them beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
13 जब येशु कयसरिया फ़िलिप्पी क्षेत्र में पहुंचे, उन्होंने अपने शिष्यों के सामने यह प्रश्न रखा: “लोगों के मत में मनुष्य के पुत्र कौन है?”
And Jesus, having come into the region of Caesarea Philippi, asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is?
14 शिष्यों ने उत्तर दिया, “कुछ के मतानुसार बपतिस्मा देनेवाला योहन, कुछ अन्य के अनुसार एलियाह और कुछ के अनुसार येरेमियाह या भविष्यद्वक्ताओं में से कोई एक.”
And they said, Some, John the Baptist; but some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
15 तब येशु ने उनसे प्रश्न किया, “किंतु तुम्हारे मत में मैं कौन हूं?”
He saith to them, But who do ye say that I am?
16 शिमओन पेतरॉस ने उत्तर दिया, “आप ही मसीह हैं—जीवित परमेश्वर के पुत्र.”
And Simon Peter answering said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 इस पर येशु ने उनसे कहा, “योनाह के पुत्र शिमओन, धन्य हो तुम! तुम पर इस सच का प्रकाशन कोई मनुष्य का काम नहीं परंतु मेरे पिता का है, जो स्वर्ग में हैं.
And Jesus answering said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon, son of Jonah; for flesh and blood did not reveal it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven.
18 मैं तुम पर एक और सच प्रकट कर रहा हूं: तुम पेतरॉस हो. अपनी कलीसिया का निर्माण मैं इसी पत्थर पर करूंगा. अधोलोक के फ़ाटक इस पर अधिकार न कर सकेंगे. (Hadēs g86)
And I on my part say to thee, that thou art Peter, a rock, and on this rock will I build my church, and the gates of the underworld shall not prevail against it. (Hadēs g86)
19 तुम्हें मैं स्वर्ग-राज्य की कुंजियां सौंपूंगा. जो कुछ पृथ्वी पर तुम्हारे द्वारा इकट्ठा किया जाएगा, वह स्वर्ग में भी इकट्ठा होगा और जो कुछ तुम्हारे द्वारा पृथ्वी पर खुलेगा, वह स्वर्ग में भी खुलेगा.”
I will give thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever thou shalt bind on earth will be bound in heaven; and whatever thou shalt loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
20 इसके बाद येशु ने शिष्यों को सावधान किया कि वे किसी पर भी यह प्रकट न करें कि वही मसीह हैं.
Then he charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.
21 इस समय से येशु ने शिष्यों पर यह स्पष्ट करना प्रारंभ कर दिया कि उनका येरूशलेम नगर जाना, पुरनियों, प्रधान पुरोहितों और शास्त्रियों द्वारा उन्हें यातना दिया जाना, मार डाला जाना तथा तीसरे दिन मरे हुओं में से जीवित किया जाना अवश्य है.
From that time Jesus began to show to his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and rise again on the third day.
22 यह सुन पेतरॉस येशु को अलग ले गए और उन्हें झिड़की देते हुए कहने लगे, “परमेश्वर ऐसा न करें, प्रभु! आपके साथ ऐसा कभी न होगा.”
Then Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord! This shall not be to thee.
23 किंतु येशु पेतरॉस से उन्मुख हो बोले, “दूर हो जा मेरी दृष्टि से, शैतान! तू मेरे लिए बाधा है! तेरा मन परमेश्वर संबंधित विषयों में नहीं परंतु मनुष्य संबंधी विषयों में है.”
But he turned and said to Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan! thou art my stumbling-block; for thy thoughts are not on the things of God, but on those of men.
24 इसके बाद येशु ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा, “जो कोई मेरे पीछे आना चाहे, वह अपना स्वयं (अहम भाव) को त्याग कर अपना क्रूस उठाए और मेरे पीछे हो ले.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any one chooseth to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 जो कोई अपने जीवन को बचाना चाहता है, वह उसे गंवा देगा तथा जो कोई मेरे लिए अपने प्राणों की हानि उठाता है, उसे सुरक्षित पाएगा.
For whoever chooseth to save his life will lose it; and whoever shall lose his life for my sake will find it.
26 भला इसका क्या लाभ कि कोई व्यक्ति पूरा संसार तो प्राप्त करे किंतु अपना प्राण खो दे? या किस वस्तु से मनुष्य अपने प्राण का अदला-बदली कर सकता है?
For what will a man be profited, if be gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? or what shall a man give as an exchange for his life?
27 मनुष्य का पुत्र अपने पिता की महिमा में अपने स्वर्गदूतों के साथ आएगा, तब वह हर एक मनुष्य को उसके कामों के अनुसार प्रतिफल देगा.
For the Son of man is to come in the glory of his Father, with his angels; and then will he render to every one according to his works.
28 “सच तो यह है कि यहां कुछ हैं, जो मृत्यु का स्वाद तब तक नहीं चखेंगे, जब तक वे मनुष्य के पुत्र का उसके राज्य में प्रवेश न देख लें.”
Truly do I say to you, There are some of those standing here who will not taste of death, till they have seen the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
