मत्ती 11
1 जब येशु अपने बारह शिष्यों को निर्देश दे चुके, वह शिक्षा देने और प्रचार के लिए वहां से उनके नगरों में चले गए.
And it came to pass, when Jesus finished teaching His twelve disciples, He departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
2 बंदीगृह में जब योहन ने मसीह के कामों के विषय में सुना उन्होंने अपने शिष्यों को येशु से यह पूछने भेजा,
And John hearing in the prison the works of Christ, sending two of his disciples,
3 “क्या आप वही है, जिसकी प्रतिज्ञा तथा प्रतीक्षा की गई हैं, या हम किसी अन्य का इंतजार करें?”
said to Him, Art thou He who is coming, or must we expect another?
4 येशु ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “जो कुछ तुम देख और सुन रहे हो उसकी सूचना योहन को दे दो:
Jesus responding said to them, Having gone, proclaim unto John the things which you hear and see.
5 अंधे देख पा रहे हैं, लंगड़े चल रहे हैं, कोढ़ के रोगियों को शुद्ध किया जा रहा है, बहिरे सुनने लगे हैं, मरे हुए दोबारा जीवित किए जा रहे हैं तथा कंगालों को सुसमाचार सुनाया जा रहा है.
The blind are looking up, and the lame are walking about, the lepers are being cleansed, and the deaf are hearing, the dead are being raised, and the poor are having the gospel preached unto them:
6 धन्य है वह, जिसका विश्वास मुझ पर से नहीं उठता.”
and blessed is he, whosoever may not be offended in me.
7 जब योहन के शिष्य वहां से जा ही रहे थे, प्रभु येशु ने भीड़ से योहन के विषय में कहना प्रारंभ किया, “तुम्हारी आशा बंजर भूमि में क्या देखने की थी? हवा में हिलते हुए सरकंडे को?
And they departing, Jesus began to speak to the multitudes concerning John, What went you out in the wilderness to see? a reed shaken by the wind?
8 यदि यह नहीं तो फिर क्या देखने गए थे? कीमती वस्त्र धारण किए हुए किसी व्यक्ति को? जो ऐसे वस्त्र धारण करते हैं उनका निवास तो राजमहलों में होता है.
But what went you out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold those wearing soft raiment are in the houses of the kings.
9 तुम क्यों गए थे? किसी भविष्यवक्ता से भेंट करने? हां! मैं तुम्हें बता रहा हूं कि यह वह हैं, जो भविष्यवक्ता से भी बढ़कर हैं
But what went you out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet:
10 यह वह हैं जिनके विषय में लिखा गया है: “‘मैं अपना दूत तुम्हारे आगे भेज रहा हूं, जो तुम्हारे आगे-आगे जाकर तुम्हारे लिए मार्ग तैयार करेगा.’
for this is he, concerning whom it has been written, Behold, I send my messenger before my face, who will prepare thy way before thee.
11 सच तो यह है कि आज तक जितने भी मनुष्य हुए हैं उनमें से एक भी बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन से बढ़कर नहीं. फिर भी स्वर्ग-राज्य में छोटे से छोटा भी योहन से बढ़कर है.
Truly I say unto you, Among those having been born of women there has not risen a greater than John the Baptist: nevertheless the least in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he.
12 बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन के समय से लेकर अब तक स्वर्ग-राज्य प्रबलतापूर्वक फैल रहा है और आकांक्षी-उत्साही व्यक्ति इस पर अधिकार कर रहे हैं.
From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of the heavens suffers violence, and the violent are taking it by force.
13 भविष्यद्वक्ताओं तथा व्यवस्था की भविष्यवाणी योहन तक ही थी.
For all the prophets and the law prophesied till John.
14 यदि तुम इस सच में विश्वास कर सको तो सुनो: योहन ही वह एलियाह हैं जिनका दोबारा आगमन होना था.
And if you wish to receive it, he is Elijah, who is to come.
15 जिसके सुनने के कान हों, वह सुन ले.
Let the one having ears to hear, hear.
16 “इस पीढ़ी की तुलना मैं किससे करूं? यह बाजारों में बैठे हुए उन बालकों के समान है, जो पुकारते हुए अन्यों से कह रहे हैं:
But to whom shall I liken this generation? It is like little children sitting in the market-place, and calling to their comrades, and saying,
17 “‘जब हमने तुम्हारे लिए बांसुरी बजाई, तुम न नाचे; हमने शोक गीत भी गाए, फिर भी तुम न रोए.’
We piped unto you, and you did not dance; we mourned unto you, and you did not lament.
18 योहन रोटी नहीं खाते, और दाखरस नहीं पीते थे. इसलिये लोगों ने घोषणा की, ‘उसमें दुष्टात्मा है.’
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon.
19 मनुष्य का पुत्र खाते-पीते आया, और उन्होंने घोषित कर दिया, ‘अरे, वह तो पेटू और पियक्कड़ है; वह तो चुंगी लेनेवालों और अपराधी व्यक्तियों का मित्र है!’ बुद्धि अपने कामों से सही साबित होती है.”
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous and wine-drinking man, a friend of publicans and sinners. Wisdom is truly justified by her children.
20 येशु ने अधिकांश अद्भुत काम इन्हीं नगरों में किए थे; फिर भी इन नगरों ने पश्चाताप नहीं किया था, इसलिये येशु इन नगरों को धिक्कारने लगे.
Then He began to upbraid the cities in which the most mighty works of His were performed, because they did not repent.
21 “धिक्कार है तुझ पर कोराज़ीन! धिक्कार है तुझ पर बैथसैदा! ये ही अद्भुत काम, जो तुझमें किए गए हैं यदि सोर और सीदोन नगरों में किए जाते तो वे विलाप-वस्त्र पहन, सिर पर राख डाल कब के पश्चाताप कर चुके होते!
Woe unto thee, Chorazin! Woe unto thee, Bethsaida! because if the mighty works which were wrought in you had been in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 फिर भी मैं कहता हूं, सुनो: न्याय-दिवस पर सोर और सीदोन नगरों का दंड तेरे दंड से अधिक सहने योग्य होगा.
Moreover I say unto you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.
23 और कफ़रनहूम, तू! क्या तू स्वर्ग तक ऊंचा किए जाने की आशा कर रहा है? अरे! तुझे तो पाताल में उतार दिया जाएगा क्योंकि जो अद्भुत काम तुझमें किए गए, यदि वे ही सोदोम नगर में किए गए होते तो वह आज भी बना होता. (Hadēs g86)
And thou, Capernaum, art thou not exalted up to heaven? thou shall be cast down to Hades: because if the mighty works which were wrought in thee had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs g86)
24 फिर भी आज जो मैं कह रहा हूं उसे याद रख: न्याय-दिवस पर सोदोम नगर का दंड तेरे दंड से अधिक सहने योग्य होगा.”
Moreover I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
25 यह वह अवसर था जब येशु ने इस प्रकार कहा: “पिता! स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी के स्वामी, मैं आपकी स्तुति करता हूं कि आपने ये सभी सच बुद्धिमानों और ज्ञानियों से छुपा रखे और नन्हे बालकों पर प्रकट कर दिए क्योंकि पिता, आपकी दृष्टि में यही अच्छा था.
At that time Jesus responding said, I praise thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, because thou hast hidden these things from the wise and the prudent, and reveal them unto babes.
26 सच है, पिता, क्योंकि इसी में आपको परम संतोष था.
Yea, Father, because it was so well pleasing in thy sight.
27 “मेरे पिता द्वारा सब कुछ मुझे सौंप दिया गया है. पिता के अलावा कोई पुत्र को नहीं जानता और न ही कोई पिता को जानता है, सिवाय पुत्र के तथा वे, जिन पर वह प्रकट करना चाहें.
All things were delivered unto me by my Father: and no one perfectly knows the Son, except the Father; neither does any one perfectly know the Father, except the Son; and he to whom the Son may wish to reveal Him.
28 “तुम सभी, जो थके हुए तथा भारी बोझ से दबे हो, मेरे पास आओ, तुम्हें विश्राम मैं दूंगा.
Come unto me, all ye who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 मेरा जूआ अपने ऊपर ले लो और मुझसे सीखो क्योंकि मैं दीन और हृदय से नम्र हूं और तुम्हें मन में विश्राम प्राप्त होगा
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; because I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.
30 क्योंकि सहज है मेरा जूआ और हल्का है मेरा बोझ.”
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
