मरकुस 6
1 मसीह येशु वहां से अपने गृहनगर आए. उनके शिष्य उनके साथ थे.
And he went out from thence; and he cometh into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
2 शब्बाथ पर वे यहूदी सभागृह में शिक्षा देने लगे. उनको सुन उनमें से अनेक चकित हो कहने लगे. “कहां से प्राप्त हुआ इसे यह सब? कहां से प्राप्त हुआ है इसे यह बुद्धि कौशल और हाथों से यह अद्भुत काम करने की क्षमता?
And when the sabbath was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, Whence hath this man these things? and, What is the wisdom that is given unto this man, and [what mean] such mighty works wrought by his hands?
3 क्या यह वही बढ़ई नहीं? क्या यह मरियम का पुत्र तथा याकोब, योसेस, यहूदाह तथा शिमओन का भाई नहीं? क्या उसी की बहनें हमारे मध्य नहीं हैं?” इस पर उन्होंने मसीह येशु को अस्वीकार कर दिया.
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended in him.
4 मसीह येशु ने उनसे कहा, “भविष्यवक्ता हर जगह सम्मानित होता है सिवाय अपने स्वयं के नगर में, अपने संबंधियों तथा परिवार के मध्य.”
And Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 कुछ रोगियों पर हाथ रख उन्हें स्वस्थ करने के अतिरिक्त मसीह येशु वहां कोई अन्य अद्भुत काम न कर सके.
And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 मसीह येशु को उनके अविश्वास पर बहुत ही आश्चर्य हुआ. मसीह येशु नगर-नगर जाकर शिक्षा देते रहे.
And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages teaching.
7 उन्होंने उन बारहों को बुलाया और उन्हें दुष्टात्माओं पर अधिकार देते हुए उन्हें दो-दो करके भेज दिया.
And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits;
8 मसीह येशु ने उन्हें आदेश दिए, “इस यात्रा में छड़ी के अतिरिक्त अपने साथ कुछ न ले जाना—न भोजन, न झोली और न पैसा.
and he charged them that they should take nothing for [their] journey, save a staff only; no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse;
9 हां, चप्पल तो पहन सकते हो किंतु अतिरिक्त बाहरी वस्त्र नहीं.”
but [to go] shod with sandals: and, [said he], put not on two coats.
10 आगे उन्होंने कहा, “जिस घर में भी तुम ठहरो उस नगर से विदा होने तक वहीं रहना.
And he said unto them, Wheresoever ye enter into a house, there abide till ye depart thence.
11 जहां कहीं तुम्हें स्वीकार न किया जाए या तुम्हारा प्रवचन न सुना जाए, वह स्थान छोड़ते हुए अपने पैरों की धूल वहीं झाड़ देना कि यह उनके विरुद्ध प्रमाण हो.”
And whatsoever place shall not receive you, and they hear you not, as ye go forth thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony unto them.
12 शिष्यों ने प्रस्थान किया. वे यह प्रचार करने लगे कि पश्चाताप सभी के लिए ज़रूरी है.
And they went out, and preached that [men] should repent.
13 उन्होंने अनेक दुष्टात्माएं निकाली तथा अनेक रोगियों को तेल मलकर उन्हें स्वस्थ किया.
And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
14 राजा हेरोदेस तक इसका समाचार पहुंच गया क्योंकि मसीह येशु की ख्याति दूर-दूर तक फैल गयी थी. कुछ तो यहां तक कह रहे थे, “बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन मरे हुओं में से जीवित हो गए हैं. यही कारण है कि मसीह येशु में यह अद्भुत सामर्थ्य प्रकट है.”
And king Herod heard [thereof]; for his name had become known: and he said, John the Baptist is risen from the dead, and therefore do these powers work in him.
15 कुछ कह रहे थे, “वह एलियाह हैं.” कुछ यह भी कहते सुने गए, “वह एक भविष्यवक्ता हैं—अतीत में हुए भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के समान.”
But others said, It is Elijah. And others said, [It is] a prophet, [even] as one of the prophets.
16 यह सब सुनकर हेरोदेस कहता रहा, “योहन, जिसका मैंने वध करवाया था, जीवित हो गया है.”
But Herod, when he heard [thereof], said, John, whom I beheaded, he is risen.
17 स्वयं हेरोदेस ने योहन को बंदी बनाकर कारागार में डाल दिया था क्योंकि उसने अपने भाई फ़िलिप्पॉस की पत्नी हेरोदिअस से विवाह कर लिया था.
For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.
18 योहन हेरोदेस को याद दिलाते रहते थे, “तुम्हारे लिए अपने भाई की पत्नी को रख लेना व्यवस्था के अनुसार नहीं है.” इसलिये
For John said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.
19 हेरोदियास के मन में योहन के लिए शत्रुभाव पनप रहा था. वह उनका वध करवाना चाहती थी किंतु उससे कुछ नहीं हो पा रहा था.
And Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him; and she could not;
20 हेरोदेस योहन से डरता था क्योंकि वह जानता था कि योहन एक धर्मी और पवित्र व्यक्ति हैं. हेरोदेस ने योहन को सुरक्षित रखा था. योहन के प्रवचन सुनकर वह घबराता तो था फिर भी उसे उनके प्रवचन सुनना बहुत प्रिय था.
for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous man and a holy, and kept him safe. And when he heard him, he was much perplexed; and he heard him gladly.
21 आखिरकार हेरोदिअस को वह मौका प्राप्त हो ही गया: अपने जन्मदिवस के उपलक्ष्य में हेरोदेस ने अपने सभी उच्च अधिकारियों, सेनापतियों और गलील प्रदेश के प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्तियों को भोज पर आमंत्रित किया.
And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, and the high captains, and the chief men of Galilee;
22 इस अवसर पर हेरोदिअस की पुत्री ने वहां अपने नृत्य के द्वारा हेरोदेस और अतिथियों को मोह लिया. राजा ने पुत्री से कहा. “मुझसे चाहे जो मांग लो, मैं दूंगा.”
and when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and them that sat at meat with him; and the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
23 राजा ने शपथ खाते हुए कहा, “तुम जो कुछ मांगोगी, मैं तुम्हें दूंगा—चाहे वह मेरा आधा राज्य ही क्यों न हो.”
And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
24 अपनी मां के पास जाकर उसने पूछा, “क्या मांगूं?” “बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन का सिर,” उसने कहा.
And she went out, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
25 पुत्री ने तुरंत जाकर राजा से कहा, “मैं चाहती हूं कि आप मुझे इसी समय एक थाल में बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन का सिर लाकर दें.”
And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou forthwith give me in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
26 हालांकि राजा को इससे गहरा दुःख तो हुआ किंतु आमंत्रित अतिथियों के सामने ली गई अपनी शपथ के कारण वह अस्वीकार न कर सका.
And the king was exceeding sorry; but for the sake of his oaths, and of them that sat at meat, he would not reject her.
27 तत्काल राजा ने एक जल्लाद को बुलवाया और योहन का सिर ले आने की आज्ञा दी. वह गया, कारागार में योहन का वध किया
And straightway the king sent forth a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring his head: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
28 और उनका सिर एक बर्तन में रखकर पुत्री को सौंप दिया और उसने जाकर अपनी माता को सौंप दिया.
and brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel; and the damsel gave it to her mother.
29 जब योहन के शिष्यों को इसका समाचार प्राप्त हुआ, वे आए और योहन के शव को ले जाकर एक कब्र में रख दिया.
And when his disciples heard [thereof], they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
30 प्रेरित लौटकर मसीह येशु के पास आए और उन्हें अपने द्वारा किए गए कामों और दी गई शिक्षा का विवरण दिया.
And the apostles gather themselves together unto Jesus; and they told him all things, whatsoever they had done, and whatsoever they had taught.
31 मसीह येशु ने उनसे कहा, “आओ, कुछ समय के लिए कहीं एकांत में चलें और विश्राम करें,” क्योंकि अनेक लोग आ जा रहे थे और उन्हें भोजन तक का अवसर प्राप्त न हो सका था.
And he saith unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32 वे चुपचाप नाव पर सवार हो एक सुनसान जगह पर चले गए.
And they went away in the boat to a desert place apart.
33 लोगों ने उन्हें वहां जाते हुए देख लिया. अनेकों ने यह भी पहचान लिया कि वे कौन थे. आस-पास के नगरों से अनेक लोग दौड़ते हुए उनसे पहले ही उस स्थान पर जा पहुंचे.
And [the people] saw them going, and many knew [them], and they ran there together on foot from all the cities, and outwent them.
34 जब मसीह येशु तट पर पहुंचे, उन्होंने वहां एक बड़ी भीड़ को इकट्ठा देखा. उसे देख वह दुःखी हो उठे क्योंकि उन्हें भीड़ बिना चरवाहे की भेड़ों के समान लगी. वहां मसीह येशु उन्हें अनेक विषयों पर शिक्षा देने लगे.
And he came forth and saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
35 दिन ढल रहा था. शिष्यों ने मसीह येशु के पास आकर उनसे कहा, “यह सुनसान जगह है और दिन ढला जा रहा है.
And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, The place is desert, and the day is now far spent:
36 अब आप इन्हें विदा कर दीजिए कि ये पास के गांवों में जाकर अपने लिए भोजन-व्यवस्था कर सकें.”
send them away, that they may go into the country and villages round about, and buy themselves somewhat to eat.
37 किंतु मसीह येशु ने उन्हीं से कहा, “तुम ही दो इन्हें भोजन!” शिष्यों ने इसके उत्तर में कहा, “इतनों के भोजन में कम से कम दो सौ दीनार लगेंगे. क्या आप चाहते हैं कि हम जाकर इनके लिए इतने का भोजन ले आएं?”
But he answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
38 मसीह येशु ने उनसे पूछा, “कितनी रोटियां हैं यहां? जाओ, पता लगाओ!” उन्होंने पता लगाकर उत्तर दिया, “पांच—और इनके अलावा दो मछलियां भी.”
And he saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go [and] see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
39 मसीह येशु ने सभी लोगों को झुंड़ों में हरी घास पर बैठ जाने की आज्ञा दी.
And he commanded them that all should sit down by companies upon the green grass.
40 वे सभी सौ-सौ और पचास-पचास के झुंडों में बैठ गए.
And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
41 मसीह येशु ने वे पांच रोटियां और दो मछलियां लेकर स्वर्ग की ओर आंखें उठाकर उनके लिए धन्यवाद प्रकट किया. तब वह रोटियां तोड़ते और शिष्यों को देते गए कि वे उन्हें भीड़ में बांटते जाएं. इसके साथ उन्होंने वे दो मछलियां भी उनमें बांट दीं.
And he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake the loaves; and he gave to the disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
42 सभी ने भरपेट खाया.
And they did all eat, and were filled.
43 शिष्यों ने शेष रह गए रोटियों तथा मछलियों के टुकड़े इकट्ठा किए तो बारह टोकरे भर गए.
And they took up broken pieces, twelve basketfuls, and also of the fishes.
44 जिन्होंने भोजन किया था, उनमें पुरुष ही पांच हज़ार थे.
And they that ate the loaves were five thousand men.
45 तुरंत ही मसीह येशु ने शिष्यों को जबरन नाव पर बैठा उन्हें अपने से पहले दूसरे किनारे पर स्थित नगर बैथसैदा पहुंचने के लिए विदा किया—वह स्वयं भीड़ को विदा कर रहे थे.
And straightway he constrained his disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before [him] unto the other side to Bethsaida, while he himself sendeth the multitude away.
46 उन्हें विदा करने के बाद वह प्रार्थना के लिए पर्वत पर चले गए.
And after he had taken leave of them, he departed into the mountain to pray.
47 रात हो चुकी थी. नाव झील के मध्य में थी. मसीह येशु किनारे पर अकेले थे.
And when even was come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
48 मसीह येशु देख रहे थे कि हवा उल्टी दिशा में चलने के कारण शिष्यों को नाव खेने में कठिन प्रयास करना पड़ रहा था. रात के चौथे प्रहर मसीह येशु झील की सतह पर चलते हुए उनके पास जा पहुंचे और ऐसा अहसास हुआ कि वह उनसे आगे निकलना चाह रहे थे.
And seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary unto them, about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them:
49 उन्हें जल सतह पर चलता देख शिष्य समझे कि कोई दुष्टात्मा है और वे चिल्ला उठे
but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was an apparition, and cried out:
50 क्योंकि उन्हें देख वे भयभीत हो गए थे. इस पर मसीह येशु ने कहा, “मैं हूं! मत डरो! साहस मत छोड़ो!”
for they all saw him, and were troubled. But he straightway spake with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
51 यह कहते हुए वह उनकी नाव में चढ़ गए और वायु थम गई. शिष्य इससे अत्यंत चकित रह गए.
And he went up unto them into the boat; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves;
52 रोटियों की घटना अब तक उनकी समझ से परे थी. उनके हृदय निर्बुद्धि जैसे हो गए थे.
for they understood not concerning the loaves, but their heart was hardened.
53 झील पार कर वे गन्नेसरत प्रदेश में पहुंच गए. उन्होंने नाव वहीं लगा दी.
And when they had crossed over, they came to the land unto Gennesaret, and moored to the shore.
54 मसीह येशु के नाव से उतरते ही लोगों ने उन्हें पहचान लिया.
And when they were come out of the boat, straightway [the people] knew him,
55 जहां कहीं भी मसीह येशु होते थे, लोग दौड़-दौड़ कर बिछौनों पर रोगियों को वहां ले आते थे.
and ran round about that whole region, and began to carry about on their beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
56 मसीह येशु जिस किसी नगर, गांव या बाहरी क्षेत्र में प्रवेश करते थे, लोग रोगियों को सार्वजनिक स्थलों में लिटा कर उनसे विनती करते थे कि उन्हें उनके वस्त्र के छोर का स्पर्श मात्र ही कर लेने दें. जो कोई उनके वस्त्र का स्पर्श कर लेता था, स्वस्थ हो जाता था.
And wheresoever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
