1 एक भविष्यवाणी: मलाकी के माध्यम से इस्राएल को दिया गया याहवेह का वचन.
The burden of the word of YHWH to Israel by Malachi.
2 याहवेह कहते हैं, “मैंने तुम्हें प्रेम किया है. “पर तुम कहते हो, ‘आपने किस प्रकार से प्रेम किया है?’” याहवेह स्पष्ट करते हैं, “क्या एसाव याकोब का भाई नहीं था? फिर भी मैंने याकोब से प्रेम किया,
I have loved you, saith YHWH. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith YHWH: yet I loved Jacob,
3 पर एसाव से नफरत किया, और उसके पहाड़ी भागों को उजाड़ दिया और उसकी पैतृक भूमि को बंजर भूमि के सियारों के लिए छोड़ दिया.”
And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
4 एदोम कह सकता है, “यद्यपि हमें उजाड़ दिया गया है, पर हम खंडहरों को फिर बनाएंगे.” पर सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का यह कहना है: “वे फिर बना सकते हैं, पर मैं गिरा दूंगा. उनका देश दुष्टों का देश कहलाएगा, और वे एक ऐसे लोग होंगे जिनके ऊपर याहवेह का कोप हमेशा बना रहेगा.
Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith YHWH of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom YHWH hath indignation for ever.
5 तुम स्वयं अपने आंखों से देखोगे और कहोगे, ‘याहवेह महान है—और तो और वह इस्राएल की सीमा के बाहर भी महान है!’
And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, YHWH will be magnified from the border of Israel.
6 “एक बेटा अपने पिता का और एक गुलाम अपने मालिक का सम्मान करता है. यदि मैं एक पिता हूं, तो कहां है वह सम्मान, जिसका मैं हकदार हूं? यदि मैं एक मालिक हूं, तो कहां है वह आदर, जिसका मैं हकदार हूं?” सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का कहना है. “हे पुरोहितो, ये तुम हो जो मेरे नाम का अनादर हो. “पर तुम पूछते हो, ‘हमने किस प्रकार से आपके नाम का अनादर किया है?’
A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith YHWH of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
7 “मेरी वेदी पर अशुद्ध भोजन चढ़ाने के द्वारा. “पर तुम पूछते हो, ‘हमने किस प्रकार से आपको अशुद्ध किया है?’ “यह कहने के द्वारा कि याहवेह का मेज़ तुच्छ है.
Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of YHWH is contemptible.
8 जब तुम अंधे पशुओं को बलिदान चढ़ाते हो, तो क्या यह गलत नहीं है? जब तुम लंगड़े या बीमारयुक्त पशुओं को बलिदान करते हो, तो क्या यह गलत नहीं है? ऐसी भेंट अपने राज्यपाल को देने की कोशिश करो! क्या वह तुमसे खुश होगा? क्या वह तुमको स्वीकार करेगा?” सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का कहना है.
And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith YHWH of hosts.
9 “अब तुम परमेश्वर से निवेदन करो कि वह हम पर अनुग्रह करें. तुम्हारे हाथों से इस प्रकार के बलिदान को देखकर क्या वे तुम्हें स्वीकार करेंगे?” सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का कहना है.
And now, I pray you, beseech El that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith YHWH of hosts.
10 “अच्छा होता कि तुममें से कोई मंदिर के दरवाजों को बंद कर देता, ताकि तुम मेरी वेदी पर बेकार की आग न जलाते! मैं तुमसे खुश नहीं हूं,” सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का कहना है, “और मैं तुम्हारे हाथ से कोई भेंट स्वीकार न करूंगा.
Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith YHWH of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
11 जहां-जहां सूर्य उदय होता और सूर्य डूबता है, उन सब जगहों में जाति-जाति के लोगों के बीच मेरा नाम महान होगा. हर एक जगह में, मेरे पास धूप एवं शुद्ध भेंटें लायी जाएंगी, क्योंकि जाति-जाति के लोगों में मेरा नाम महान होगा,” सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का कहना है.
For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith YHWH of hosts.
12 “पर तुम यह कहकर इसे अपवित्र करते हो, ‘प्रभु की मेज़ अशुद्ध है,’ और, ‘इस पर रखा भोजन तुच्छ है.’
But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of YHWH is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.
13 तुम यह भी कहते हो, ‘यह एक बोझ है!’ और तुम घृणापूर्वक इस पर अपनी नाक सिकोड़ते हो,” सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का कहना है. “जब तुम घायल, लंगड़े या बीमारयुक्त पशुओं को लाकर उन्हें बलिदान के रूप में चढ़ाते हो, तो क्या मुझे इस प्रकार के बलिदान को तुम्हारे हाथ से ग्रहण करना चाहिये?” याहवेह का कहना है.
Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith YHWH of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith YHWH.
14 “वह धोखेबाज श्रापित है, जिसके पास उसके झुंड में ग्रहण योग्य नर पशु हो और उसने उसे देने की शपथ भी खायी हो, पर वह एक दोषयुक्त पशु प्रभु को चढ़ाता है. क्योंकि मैं एक महान राजा हूं,” सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का कहना है, “और जाति-जाति के लोगों के बीच मेरे नाम का भय माना जाए.
But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto YHWH a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith YHWH of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
