लूका 1
1 अनेक व्यक्तियों ने उन घटनाओं को लिखकर इकट्ठा करने का कार्य किया है, जो हमारे बीच में घटी.
Given that many have undertaken to set in order a narrative concerning those things that really did take place among us,
2 ये सबूत हमें उनसे प्राप्त हुए हैं, जो प्रारंभ ही से इनके प्रत्यक्षदर्शी और परमेश्वर के वचन के सेवक रहे.
just as those who became eyewitnesses, from the beginning, and ministers of the Word delivered them to us,
3 मैंने स्वयं हर एक घटनाओं की शुरुआत से सावधानीपूर्वक जांच की है. इसलिये परम सम्मान्य थियोफ़िलॉस महोदय, मुझे भी यह उचित लगा कि आपके लिए मैं यह सब क्रम के अनुसार लिखूं
it seemed good to me also, most excellent Theophilus, having taken careful note of everything from Above, to write to you with precision and in sequence,
4 कि जो शिक्षाएं आपको दी गई हैं, आप उनकी विश्वसनीयता को जान लें.
so that you may know the certainty of the things in which you were instructed.
5 यहूदिया प्रदेश के राजा हेरोदेस के शासनकाल में अबीयाह दल के एक पुरोहित थे, जिनका नाम ज़करयाह था. उनकी पत्नी का नाम एलिज़ाबेथ था, जो हारोन की वंशज थी.
In the days of Herod, the king of Judea, there was a certain priest named Zacharias, of the priestly division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron and her name was Elizabeth.
6 वे दोनों ही परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी तथा प्रभु के सभी आदेशों और नियमों के पालन में दोषहीन थे.
They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.
7 उनकी कोई संतान न थी क्योंकि एलिज़ाबेथ बांझ थी और वे दोनों ही अब बूढ़े हो चुके थे.
But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren; and they both were well advanced in years.
8 अपने दल की बारी के अनुसार जब ज़करयाह एक दिन परमेश्वर के सामने अपनी पुरोहित सेवा भेंट कर रहे थे,
Now it happened, as he was officiating as priest before God in the order of his division,
9 उन्हें पुरोहितों की रीति के अनुसार पर्ची द्वारा चुनाव कर प्रभु के मंदिर में प्रवेश करने और धूप जलाने का काम सौंपा गया था.
according to the custom of the priesthood, that his lot was to burn incense, upon entering the sanctuary of the Lord;
10 धूप जलाने के समय बाहर सभी लोगों का विशाल समूह प्रार्थना कर रहा था.
and the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.
11 तभी ज़करयाह के सामने प्रभु का एक दूत प्रकट हुआ, जो धूप वेदी की दायीं ओर खड़ा था.
Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense;
12 स्वर्गदूत को देख ज़करयाह चौंक पड़े और भयभीत हो गए
and upon seeing him Zacharias was shaken, and a fear fell upon him.
13 किंतु उस स्वर्गदूत ने उनसे कहा, “मत डरो, ज़करयाह! तुम्हारी प्रार्थना सुन ली गई है. तुम्हारी पत्नी एलिज़ाबेथ एक पुत्र जनेगी. तुम उसका नाम योहन रखना.
But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, because your prayer was heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
14 तुम आनंदित और प्रसन्न होंगे तथा अनेक उसके जन्म के कारण आनंद मनाएंगे.
And you will have joy and exultation, and many will rejoice over his birth.
15 यह बालक प्रभु की दृष्टि में महान होगा. वह दाखरस और मदिरा का सेवन कभी न करेगा तथा माता के गर्भ से ही पवित्र आत्मा से भरा हुआ होगा.
For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; he must not drink either wine or strong drink; indeed, he will be filled with Holy Spirit already from his mother's womb.
16 वह इस्राएल के वंशजों में से अनेकों को प्रभु—उनके परमेश्वर—की ओर लौटा ले आएगा.
And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God;
17 वह एलियाह की आत्मा और सामर्थ्य में प्रभु के आगे चलनेवाला बनकर पिताओं के हृदय संतानों की ओर तथा अनाज्ञाकारियों को धर्मी के ज्ञान की ओर फेरेगा कि एक राष्ट्र को प्रभु के लिए तैयार करें.”
in fact he himself will go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of fathers to children’ and the disobedient to the mindset of the righteous, to prepare a people made ready for the Lord.”
18 ज़करयाह ने स्वर्गदूत से प्रश्न किया, “मैं कैसे विश्वास करूं—क्योंकि मैं ठहरा एक बूढ़ा व्यक्ति और मेरी पत्नी की आयु भी ढल चुकी है?”
But Zacharias said to the angel: “How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”
19 स्वर्गदूत ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “मैं गब्रिएल हूं. मैं नित परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति में रहता हूं. मुझे तुम्हें यह बताने और इस शुभ समाचार की घोषणा करने के लिए ही भेजा गया है.
So in answer the angel said to him: “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God; I was sent to speak to you and bring you this good news.
20 और सुनो! जब तक मेरी ये बातें पूरी न हो जाए, तब तक के लिए तुम गूंगे हो जाओगे, बोलने में असमर्थ, क्योंकि तुमने मेरे वचनों पर विश्वास नहीं किया, जिसका नियत समय पर पूरा होना निश्चित है.”
Now look, you will be silent and not able to speak until the day in which these things happen, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.”
21 बाहर ज़करयाह का इंतजार कर रहे लोग असमंजस में पड़ गए कि उन्हें मंदिर में इतनी देर क्यों हो रही है.
Now the people were waiting for Zacharias and wondering at his delay in the sanctuary.
22 जब ज़करयाह बाहर आए, वह उनसे बातें करने में असमर्थ रहे. इसलिये वे समझ गए कि ज़करयाह को मंदिर में कोई दर्शन प्राप्त हुआ है. वह उनसे संकेतों द्वारा बातचीत करते रहे और मौन बने रहे.
But when he came out he was unable to speak to them, and they understood that he had seen a vision in the sanctuary—he kept gesturing to them while remaining mute.
23 अपने पुरोहित सेवाकाल की समाप्ति पर ज़करयाह घर लौट गए.
And so, when the days of his service were fulfilled, he took off for home.
24 उनकी पत्नी एलिज़ाबेथ ने गर्भधारण किया और यह कहते हुए पांच माह तक अकेले में रहीं,
Well after those days his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and stayed in seclusion five months. She kept saying,
25 “प्रभु ने मुझ पर यह कृपादृष्टि की है और समूह में मेरी लज्जित स्थिति से मुझे उबार लिया है.”
“So that's what the Lord has done for me in the days when He concerned Himself to take away my reproach among the people!”
26 छठे माह में स्वर्गदूत गब्रिएल को परमेश्वर द्वारा गलील प्रदेश के नाज़रेथ नामक नगर में
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town of Galilee named Natsareth,
27 एक कुंवारी कन्या के पास भेजा गया, जिसका विवाह योसेफ़ नामक एक पुरुष से होना निश्चित हुआ था. योसेफ़, राजा दावीद के वंशज थे. कन्या का नाम था मरियम.
to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; the virgin's name was Mary.
28 मरियम को संबोधित करते हुए स्वर्गदूत ने कहा, “प्रभु की कृपापात्री, नमस्कार! प्रभु आपके साथ हैं.”
So upon entering where she was the angel said, “Rejoice, recipient of grace, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
29 इस कथन को सुन वह बहुत ही घबरा गईं कि इस प्रकार के नमस्कार का क्या अर्थ हो सकता है.
But upon seeing him she was perplexed at his word and was trying to figure out what sort of greeting it might be.
30 स्वर्गदूत ने उनसे कहा, “मत डरिए, मरियम! क्योंकि आप परमेश्वर की कृपा की पात्र हैं.
The angel said to her: “Do not be afraid, Mary, because you have found favor with God.
31 सुनिए! आप गर्भधारण कर एक पुत्र को जन्म देंगी. आप उनका नाम येशु रखें.
Now then, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS.
32 वह महान होंगे. परम प्रधान के पुत्र कहलाएंगे और प्रभु परमेश्वर उन्हें उनके पूर्वज दावीद का सिंहासन सौंपेंगे,
He will be great, and will be called ‘Son of the Most High’; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David,
and He will reign over the house of Jacob into the ages; indeed, of His kingdom there will be no end!” (aiōn g165)
34 मरियम ने स्वर्गदूत से प्रश्न किया, “यह कैसे संभव होगा क्योंकि मैं तो कुंवारी हूं?”
So Mary said to the angel, “How shall this be, since I do not know a man?”
35 स्वर्गदूत ने उत्तर दिया, “पवित्र आत्मा आप पर उतरेंगे तथा परम प्रधान का सामर्थ्य आप पर छाया करेगा. इसलिये जो जन्म लेंगे, वह पवित्र और परमेश्वर-पुत्र कहलाएंगे.
In answer the angel said to her: “Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will hover over you; precisely for this reason the holy One who is to be born will be called ‘Son of God’!
36 और यह भी सुनिए आपकी परिजन एलिज़ाबेथ ने अपनी वृद्धावस्था में एक पुत्र गर्भधारण किया है. वह, जो बांझ कहलाती थी, उन्हें छः माह का गर्भ है.
Furthermore, your relative Elizabeth, she has actually conceived a son in her old age and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren;
37 परमेश्वर के लिए असंभव कुछ भी नहीं.”
because any word spoken by God will be possible.”
38 मरियम ने कहा, “देखिए, मैं प्रभु की दासी हूं. मेरे लिए वही सब हो, जैसा आपने कहा है.” तब वह स्वर्गदूत उनके पास से चला गया.
So Mary said: “Yes, I am the Lord's slave! Let it happen to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
39 मरियम तुरंत यहूदिया प्रदेश के पर्वतीय क्षेत्र के एक नगर को चली गईं.
Then Mary quickly got ready and went into the hill country in those days, to a town of Judah,
40 वहां उन्होंने ज़करयाह के घर पर जाकर एलिज़ाबेथ को नमस्कार किया.
and entered the house of Zacharias and saluted Elizabeth.
41 जैसे ही एलिज़ाबेथ ने मरियम का नमस्कार सुना, उनके गर्भ में शिशु उछल पड़ा और एलिज़ाबेथ पवित्र आत्मा से भर गईं.
Well it happened that as Elizabeth heard Mary's salutation the babe bounced up and down in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with Holy Spirit.
42 वह उल्लसित शब्द में बोल उठी, “तुम सभी नारियों में धन्य हो और धन्य है तुम्हारे गर्भ का फल!
And she cried out with a great voice and said: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the Fruit of your womb!
43 मुझ पर यह कैसी कृपादृष्टि हुई है, जो मेरे प्रभु की माता मुझसे भेंट करने आई हैं!
Why am I so favored that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 देखो तो, जैसे ही तुम्हारा नमस्कार मेरे कानों में पड़ा, हर्षोल्लास से मेरे गर्भ में शिशु उछल पड़ा.
Yes indeed, because as the sound of your salutation came into my ears the babe bounced up and down in my womb for joy.
45 धन्य है वह, जिसने प्रभु द्वारा कही हुई बातों के पूरा होने का विश्वास किया है!”
Blessed is she who believed, because there will be a fulfillment of the things that have been spoken to her from the Lord.”
46 इस पर मरियम के वचन ये थे: “मेरा प्राण प्रभु की प्रशंसा करता है
So Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 और मेरी अंतरात्मा परमेश्वर, मेरे उद्धारकर्ता में आनंदित हुई है,
and my spirit has exulted over God my Savior,
48 क्योंकि उन्होंने अपनी दासी की दीनता की ओर दृष्टि की है. अब से सभी पीढ़ियां मुझे धन्य कहेंगी,
in that He paid attention to the humble station of His slave (f). Yes indeed, because from now on all generations will declare me to be highly favored,
49 क्योंकि सामर्थ्यी ने मेरे लिए बड़े-बड़े काम किए हैं. पवित्र है उनका नाम.
in that the Mighty One did sublime things for me, and Holy is His name.
50 उनकी दया उनके श्रद्धालुओं पर पीढ़ी से पीढ़ी तक बनी रहती है.
His mercy is for generations of generations to those fearing Him.
51 अपने भुजबल से उन्होंने प्रतापी काम किए हैं और अभिमानियों को बिखरा दिया है.
He has done mighty deeds with His arm; He has dispersed the arrogant in the reasoning of their hearts.
52 परमेश्वर ने राजाओं को उनके सिंहासनों से नीचे उतार दिया तथा विनम्रों को उठाया है.
He has dethroned rulers and exalted the lowly.
53 उन्होंने भूखों को उत्तम पदार्थों से तृप्त किया तथा सम्पन्नों को खाली लौटा दिया.
He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away empty.
54 उन्होंने अपने सेवक इस्राएल की सहायता अपनी उस करुणा के स्मरण में की,
He has taken the part of His servant Israel, in remembrance of mercy,
55 जिसकी प्रतिज्ञा उसने हमारे बाप-दादों से करी थी और जो अब्राहाम तथा उनके वंशजों पर सदा-सर्वदा रहेगी.” (aiōn g165)
just as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed while there is an age.” (aiōn g165)
56 लगभग तीन माह एलिज़ाबेथ के साथ रहकर मरियम अपने घर लौट गईं.
So Mary stayed with her about three months, and returned to her house.
57 एलिज़ाबेथ का प्रसवकाल पूरा हुआ और उन्होंने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया.
Now the time for Elizabeth to give birth was completed and she bore a son.
58 जब पड़ोसियों और परिजनों ने यह सुना कि एलिज़ाबेथ पर यह अनुग्रह हुआ है, तो वे भी उनके इस आनंद में सम्मिलित हो गए.
Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had used His great mercy with her, and they rejoiced with her.
59 आठवें दिन वे शिशु के ख़तना के लिए इकट्ठा हुए. वे शिशु को उसके पिता के नाम पर ज़करयाह पुकारने लगे.
So it was, on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child, and they started calling him by the name of his father, Zacharias.
60 किंतु शिशु की माता ने उत्तर दिया; “नहीं! इसका नाम योहन होगा!”
His mother reacted and said, “Absolutely not; he shall be called John!”
61 इस पर उन्होंने एलिज़ाबेथ से कहा, “आपके परिजनों में तो इस नाम का कोई भी व्यक्ति नहीं है!”
So they said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name.”
62 तब उन्होंने शिशु के पिता से संकेत में प्रश्न किया कि वह शिशु का नाम क्या रखना चाहते हैं?
So they started motioning to his father, as to what he would have him called.
63 ज़करयाह ने एक लेखन पट्ट मंगा कर उस पर लिख दिया, “इसका नाम योहन है.” यह देख सभी चकित रह गए.
Asking for a writing tablet he wrote this: “His name is to be John!” They all marveled.
64 उसी क्षण उनकी आवाज लौट आई. उनकी जीभ के बंधन खुल गए और वह परमेश्वर की स्तुति करने लगे.
Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue freed and he started to speak, blessing God.
65 सभी पड़ोसियों में परमेश्वर के प्रति श्रद्धा भाव आ गया और यहूदिया प्रदेश के सभी पर्वतीय क्षेत्र में इसकी चर्चा होने लगी.
(Well a fear came on all who lived around them; and all these sayings kept being talked about throughout all the hill country of Judea.
66 निःसंदेह प्रभु का हाथ उस बालक पर था. जिन्होंने यह सुना, उन्होंने इसे याद रखा और यह विचार करते रहे: “क्या होगा यह बालक!”
All who heard kept them in their hearts saying, “What then will this child be?” And the hand of the Lord was with him.)
67 पवित्र आत्मा से भरकर उनके पिता ज़करयाह इस प्रकार भविष्यवाणियों का वर्णानुभाषण करना शुरू किया:
Now his father Zacharias was filled with Holy Spirit and prophesied saying:
68 “धन्य हैं प्रभु, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, क्योंकि उन्होंने अपनी प्रजा की सुधि ली और उसका उद्धार किया.
“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He has visited and provided redemption for His people;
69 उन्होंने हमारे लिए अपने सेवक दावीद के वंश में एक उद्धारकर्ता पैदा किया है,
and has raised up a horn of deliverance for us in the house of His servant David
—just as He spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets from antiquity— (aiōn g165)
71 शत्रुओं तथा उन सबसे, जो हमसे घृणा करते हैं, बचाए रखा
deliverance from our enemies and out of the hand of all who hate us;
72 कि वह हमारे पूर्वजों पर अपनी कृपादृष्टि प्रदर्शित करें तथा अपनी पवित्र वाचा को पूरा करें;
to use mercy with our fathers, even to remember His Holy covenant,
73 वही वाचा, जो उन्होंने हमारे पूर्वज अब्राहाम से स्थापित की थी:
the oath that He swore to our father Abraham;
74 वह हमें हमारे शत्रुओं के हाथ से छुड़ाएंगे,
to grant to us (having been rescued from the hand of our enemies) to serve Him without fear,
75 कि हम पवित्रता और धार्मिकता में निर्भय हो जीवन भर उनकी सेवा कर सकें.
in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
76 “और बालक तुम, मेरे पुत्र, परम प्रधान परमेश्वर के भविष्यवक्ता कहलाओगे; क्योंकि तुम उनका मार्ग तैयार करने के लिए प्रभु के आगे-आगे चलोगे,
And you, child, will be called Prophet of the Most High, because you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
77 तुम परमेश्वर की प्रजा को उसके पापों की क्षमा के द्वारा उद्धार का ज्ञान प्रदान करोगे.
to give a knowledge of salvation to His people by the forgiveness of their sins,
78 हमारे परमेश्वर की अत्यधिक कृपा के कारण, स्वर्ग से हम पर प्रकाश का उदय होगा,
through the merciful compassions of our God, with which the divine Dawn has contemplated us,
79 उन पर, जो अंधकार और मृत्यु की छाया में हैं; कि इसके द्वारा हमारा मार्गदर्शन शांति के मार्ग पर हो.”
to give light to those who are sitting in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
80 बालक योहन का विकास होता गया तथा वह आत्मिक रूप से भी बलवंत होते गए. इस्राएल के सामने सार्वजनिक रूप से प्रकट होने के पहले वह बंजर भूमि में निवास करते रहे.
So the child kept growing and being strengthened in spirit, and he stayed in uninhabited areas until the day of his manifestation to Israel.
