लूका 7
1 लोगों को ऊपर लिखी शिक्षा देने के बाद प्रभु येशु कफ़रनहूम नगर लौट गए.
When he had finished his discourse in the audience of the people, he entered Capernaum.
2 वहां एक शताधिपति का एक अत्यंत प्रिय सेवक रोग से बिस्तर पर था. रोग के कारण वह लगभग मरने पर था.
And a centurion's servant, who was dear to his master, was sick, and in danger of dying.
3 प्रभु येशु के विषय में मालूम होने पर सेनापति ने कुछ वरिष्ठ यहूदियों को प्रभु येशु के पास इस विनती के साथ भेजा, कि वह आकर उसके सेवक को चंगा करें.
And the centurion, having heard concerning Jesus, sent to him Jewish elders, to entreat him to come and save his servant.
4 उन्होंने प्रभु येशु के पास आकर उनसे विनती कर कहा, “यह सेनापति निश्चय ही आपकी इस दया का पात्र है
When they came to Jesus, they earnestly besought him, saying, He is worthy of this favor;
5 क्योंकि उसे हमारी जनता से प्रेम है तथा उसने हमारे लिए सभागृह भी बनाया है.”
for he loves our nations; and it was he who built our synagogue.
6 इसलिये प्रभु येशु उनके साथ चले गए. प्रभु येशु उसके घर के पास पहुंचे ही थे कि शताधिपति ने अपने मित्रों के द्वारा उन्हें संदेश भेजा, “प्रभु! आप कष्ट न कीजिए. मैं इस योग्य नहीं हूं कि आप मेरे घर पधारें.
Then Jesus went with them; and when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, to say, Master, trouble not yourself; for I have not deserved that you should come under my roof;
7 अपनी इसी अयोग्यता को ध्यान में रखते हुए मैं स्वयं आपसे भेंट करने नहीं आया. आप मात्र वचन कह दीजिए और मेरा सेवक स्वस्थ हो जाएगा.
wherefore neither thought I myself fit to come into your presence; say but the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 मैं स्वयं बड़े अधिकारियों के अधीन नियुक्त हूं और सैनिक मेरे अधिकार में हैं. मैं किसी को आदेश देता हूं, ‘जाओ!’ तो वह जाता है और किसी को आदेश देता हूं, ‘इधर आओ!’ तो वह आता है. अपने सेवक से कहता हूं, ‘यह करो!’ तो वह वही करता है.”
For even I, who am under the authority of others, having soldiers under me, say to one, Go, and he goes; to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.
9 यह सुनकर प्रभु येशु अत्यंत चकित हुए और मुड़कर पीछे आ रही भीड़ को संबोधित कर बोले, “मैं यह बताना सही समझता हूं कि मुझे इस्राएलियों तक में ऐसा दृढ़ विश्वास देखने को नहीं मिला.”
Jesus hearing these things, admired him, and turning, said to the multitude which followed, I assure you, I have not found so great faith even in Israel.
10 वे, जो सेनापति द्वारा प्रभु येशु के पास भेजे गए थे, जब घर लौटे तो यह पाया कि वह सेवक स्वस्थ हो चुका था.
And they who had been sent, having returned to the house, found the servant well, who had been sick.
11 इसके कुछ ही समय बाद प्रभु येशु नाइन नामक एक नगर को गए. एक बड़ी भीड़ और उनके शिष्य उनके साथ थे.
The day following, he went into a city called Nain, accompanied by his disciples, and a great crowd.
12 जब वह नगर द्वार पर पहुंचे, एक मृत व्यक्ति अंतिम संस्कार के लिए बाहर लाया जा रहा था—अपनी माता का एकलौता पुत्र और वह स्वयं विधवा थी; और उसके साथ नगर की एक बड़ी भीड़ थी.
As he approached the gate of the city, the people were carrying out a dead man, the only son of his mother, who was a widow; and many of the citizens were with her.
13 उसे देख प्रभु येशु करुणा से भर उठे. उन्होंने उससे कहा, “रोओ मत!”
When the Lord saw her, he had pity upon her, and said to her, Weep not.
14 तब उन्होंने जाकर उस अर्थी को स्पर्श किया. यह देख वे, जिन्होंने उसे उठाया हुआ था, रुक गए. तब प्रभु येशु ने कहा, “युवक! मैं तुमसे कहता हूं, उठ जाओ!”
Then he advanced and touched the bier, (the bearers stopping, ) and said, Young man, arise, I command you.
15 मृतक उठ बैठा और वार्तालाप करने लगा. प्रभु येशु ने माता को उसका जीवित पुत्र सौंप दिया.
Then he who had been dead, sat up, and began to speak, and he delivered him to his mother.
16 वे सभी श्रद्धा में परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करने लगे. वे कह रहे थे, “हमारे मध्य एक तेजस्वी भविष्यवक्ता का आगमन हुआ है. परमेश्वर ने अपनी प्रजा की सुधि ली है.”
And all present were struck with awe, and glorified God, saying, A great prophet has arisen among us; and God has visited his people.
17 प्रभु येशु के विषय में यह समाचार यहूदिया प्रदेश तथा पास के क्षेत्रों में फैल गया.
And this report, concerning him, spread throughout Judea, and all the neighboring country.
18 योहन के शिष्यों ने उन्हें इस विषय में सूचना दी.
Now John's disciples had informed him of all these things,
19 योहन ने अपने दो शिष्यों को प्रभु के पास इस प्रश्न के साथ भेजा, “क्या आप वही हैं जिनके आगमन की प्रतीक्षा की जा रही है, या हम किसी अन्य की प्रतीक्षा करें?”
and he called two of them, whom he sent to Jesus, to ask him, Are you He who comes, or must we expect another?
20 जब वे दोनों प्रभु येशु के पास पहुंचे उन्होंने कहा, “बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन ने हमें आपके पास यह पूछने भेजा है, ‘क्या आप वही हैं, जिनके आगमन की प्रतीक्षा की जा रही है, या हम किसी अन्य की प्रतीक्षा करें?’”
Being come to him, they said, John the Immerser has sent us to ask you, Are you He who comes, or must we expect another?
21 ठीक उसी समय प्रभु येशु अनेकों को स्वस्थ कर रहे थे, जो रोगी, पीड़ित और दुष्टात्मा के सताए हुए थे. वह अनेक अंधों को भी दृष्टि प्रदान कर रहे थे.
At that very time Jesus was delivering man from diseases and maladies, and evil spirits, and giving sight to many, who were blind.
22 इसलिये प्रभु येशु ने उन दूतों उत्तर दिया, “तुमने जो कुछ सुना और देखा है उसकी सूचना योहन को दे दो: अंधे दृष्टि पा रहे हैं, अपंग चल रहे हैं, कोढ़ी शुद्ध होते जा रहे हैं, बहरे सुनने लगे हैं, मृतक जीवित किए जा रहे हैं तथा कंगालों में सुसमाचार का प्रचार किया जा रहा है.
And he returned this answer, Go, and report to John what you have seen and heard: the blind are made to see, the lame to walk, the deaf to hear; the leprous are cleansed, the dead are raised, glad tidings are brought to the poor.
23 धन्य है वह, जिसका विश्वास मुझ पर से नहीं उठता.”
And happy is he to whom I shall not prove a stumbling block.
24 योहन का संदेश लानेवालों के विदा होने के बाद प्रभु येशु ने भीड़ से योहन के विषय में कहना प्रारंभ किया, “तुम्हारी आशा बंजर भूमि में क्या देखने की थी? हवा में हिलते हुए सरकंडे को?
When John's messengers were departed, Jesus said to the multitude, concerning John, What did you go out into the wilderness to behold? A reed shaken by the wind?
25 यदि यह नहीं तो फिर क्या देखने गए थे? कीमती वस्त्र धारण किए हुए किसी व्यक्ति को? जो ऐसे वस्त्र धारण करते हैं उनका निवास तो राजमहलों में होता है.
But what did you go out to see? A man effeminately dressed? It is in royal palaces that they who wear splendid apparel, and live in luxury, are found.
26 तुम क्यों गए थे? किसी भविष्यवक्ता से भेंट करने? हां! मैं तुम्हें बता रहा हूं कि यह वह हैं, जो भविष्यवक्ता से भी बढ़कर हैं
What then did you go to see? a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and something superior to a prophet.
27 यह वही हैं, जिनके विषय में लिखा गया है: “‘मैं अपना दूत तुम्हारे आगे भेज रहा हूं, जो तुम्हारे आगे-आगे चलकर तुम्हारे लिए मार्ग तैयार करेगा.’
For this is he, concerning whom it is written, "Behold, I send my messenger before you, who shall prepare your way."
28 सच तो यह है कि आज तक जितने भी मनुष्य हुए हैं उनमें से एक भी (बपतिस्मा देनेवाले) योहन से बढ़कर नहीं. फिर भी, परमेश्वर के राज्य में छोटे से छोटा भी योहन से बढ़कर है.”
For I declare to you, among those who are born of women, there is not a greater prophet than John the Immerser; yet, the least in the Reign of God is greater than he.
29 जब सभी लोगों ने, यहां तक कि चुंगी लेनेवालों ने, प्रभु येशु के वचन, सुने तो उन्होंने योहन का बपतिस्मा लेने के द्वारा यह स्वीकार किया कि परमेश्वर की योजना सही है.
All the people, even the publicans, who heard John, have, by receiving immersion from him, honored God;
30 किंतु फ़रीसियों और शास्त्रियों ने बपतिस्मा न लेकर उनके लिए तय परमेश्वर के उद्देश्य को अस्वीकार कर दिया.
whereas, the Pharisees and the lawyers, in not being immersed by him, have rejected the counsel of God with regard to themselves.
31 प्रभु येशु ने आगे कहा, “इस पीढ़ी के लोगों की तुलना मैं किससे करूं? किसके समान हैं ये?
To what shall I compare the men of this generation? Whom are they like?
32 ये बाजार में बैठे हुए उन बालकों के समान हैं, जो एक दूसरे से पुकार-पुकारकर कह रहे हैं: “‘हमने तुम्हारे लिए बांसुरी बजाई, किंतु तुम नहीं नाचे, हमने तुम्हारे लिए शोक गीत भी गाया, फिर भी तुम न रोए.’
They are like children in the market place, of whom their companions complain, and say, We have played to you upon the pipe, but you have not danced; we have sung mournful songs to you, but you have not wept.
33 बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन रोटी नहीं खाते थे और दाखरस का सेवन भी नहीं करते थे इसलिये तुमने घोषित कर दिया, ‘उसमें दुष्टात्मा का वास है.’
For John the Immerser is come, abstaining from bread and wine, an associate of publicans and sinners; and you say, He has a demon.
34 मनुष्य के पुत्र का खान-पान सामान्य है और तुम घोषणा करते हैं, ‘अरे, वह तो पेटू और पियक्कड़ है; वह तो चुंगी लेनेवालों और अपराधी व्यक्तियों का मित्र है!’ बुद्धि अपनी संतान द्वारा साबित हुई है
The Son of Man is come, using both; and you say, He is a lover of banquets, and wine, an associate of publicans and sinners.
35 फिर भी ज्ञान की सच्चाई उसकी सभी संतानों द्वारा प्रकट की गई है.”
But wisdom is justified by all her children.
36 एक फ़रीसी ने प्रभु येशु को भोज पर आमंत्रित किया. प्रभु येशु आमंत्रण स्वीकार कर वहां गए और भोजन के लिए बैठ गए.
Now one of the Pharisees asked Jesus to eat with him: and he went into the Pharisee's house, and placed himself at table.
37 नगर की एक पापिन स्त्री, यह मालूम होने पर कि प्रभु येशु वहां आमंत्रित हैं, संगमरमर के बर्तन में इत्र लेकर आई
And behold, a woman of the city who was a sinner, knowing that he eat at the house of the Pharisee, brought an alabaster box of balsam,
38 और उनके चरणों के पास रोती हुई खड़ी हो गई. उसके आंसुओं से उनके पांव भीगने लगे. तब उसने प्रभु के पावों को अपने बालों से पोंछा, उनके पावों को चूमा तथा उस इत्र को उनके पावों पर उंडेल दिया.
and standing behind at his feet weeping, bathed them with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the balsam.
39 जब उस फ़रीसी ने, जिसने प्रभु येशु को आमंत्रित किया था, यह देखा तो मन में विचार करने लगा, “यदि यह व्यक्ति वास्तव में भविष्यवक्ता होता तो अवश्य जान जाता कि जो स्त्री उसे छू रही है, वह कौन है—एक पापी स्त्री!”
The Pharisee, who had invited him, observing this, said within himself, If this man were a prophet, he would have known who this woman is that touches him, and of what character, for she is a sinner.
40 प्रभु येशु ने उस फ़रीसी को कहा, “शिमओन, मुझे तुमसे कुछ कहना है.” “कहिए, गुरुवर,” उसने कहा.
Then Jesus said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. He answered, Say it, Rabbi.
41 प्रभु येशु ने कहा, “एक साहूकार के दो कर्ज़दार थे—एक पांच सौ दीनार का तथा दूसरा पचास का.
A certain creditor had two debtors; one owed five hundred denarii, the other fifty.
42 दोनों ही कर्ज़ चुकाने में असमर्थ थे इसलिये उस साहूकार ने दोनों ही के कर्ज़ क्षमा कर दिए. यह बताओ, दोनों में से कौन उस साहूकार से अधिक प्रेम करेगा?”
But not having the means to pay, he freely forgave them both. Say, then, which of them will love him most?
43 शिमओन ने उत्तर दिया, “मेरे विचार से वह, जिसकी बड़ी राशि क्षमा की गई.” “तुमने सही उत्तर दिया,” प्रभु येशु ने कहा.
Simon answered, I suppose he whom he forgave most? Jesus replied, You have judged right.
44 तब उस स्त्री से उन्मुख होकर प्रभु येशु ने शिमओन से कहा, “इस स्त्री की ओर देखो. मैं तुम्हारे घर आया, तुमने तो मुझे पांव धोने के लिए भी जल न दिया किंतु इसने अपने आंसुओं से मेरे पांव भिगो दिए और अपने केशों से उन्हें पोंछ दिया.
Then turning to the woman, he said, Simon, Do you see this woman? When I came to your house, you gave me no water for my feet; but she has washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with her hair.
45 तुमने चुंबन से मेरा स्वागत नहीं किया किंतु यह स्त्री मेरे पांवों को चूमती रही.
You gave me no kiss; but she, since she entered, has not ceased kissing my feet.
46 तुमने मेरे सिर पर तेल नहीं मला किंतु इसने मेरे पांवों पर इत्र उंडेल दिया है.
You did not anoint my head with oil; but she has anointed my feet with balsam.
47 मैं तुम्हें बताना चाहता हूं कि यह मुझसे इतना अधिक प्रेम इसलिये करती है कि इसके बहुत पाप क्षमा कर दिए गए हैं; किंतु वह, जिसके थोड़े ही पाप क्षमा किए गए हैं, प्रेम भी थोड़ा ही करता है.”
Wherefore, I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven; therefore, her love is great. But he to whom little is forgiven, has little love.
48 तब प्रभु येशु ने उस स्त्री से कहा, “तुम्हारे पाप क्षमा कर दिए गए हैं.”
Then he said to her, Your sins are forgiven.
49 आमंत्रित अतिथि आपस में विचार-विमर्श करने लगे, “कौन है यह, जो पाप भी क्षमा करता है?”
Those, who were at table with him, said within themselves, Who is this, that even forgives sins?
50 प्रभु येशु ने उस स्त्री से कहा, “तुम्हारा विश्वास ही तुम्हारे उद्धार का कारण है. शांति में विदा हो जाओ.”
But he said to the woman, Your faith has saved you, go in peace.
