लूका 18
1 तब प्रभु येशु ने शिष्यों को यह समझाने के उद्देश्य से कि निराश हुए बिना निरंतर प्रार्थना करते रहना ही सही है, यह दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत किया.
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2 “किसी नगर में एक न्यायाधीश था. वह न तो परमेश्वर से डरता था और न किसी को कुछ समझता था.
Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not YHWH, neither regarded man:
3 उसी नगर में एक विधवा भी थी, जो बार-बार उस न्यायाधीश के पास ‘आकर विनती करती थी कि उसे न्याय दिलाया जाए.’
And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 “कुछ समय तक तो वह न्यायाधीश उसे टालता रहा किंतु फिर उसने मन में विचार किया, ‘यद्यपि मैं न तो परमेश्वर से डरता हूं और न लोगों से प्रभावित होता हूं
And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not Elohim, nor regard man;
5 फिर भी यह विधवा आ-आकर मेरी नाक में दम किए जा रही है. इसलिये उत्तम यही होगा कि मैं इसका न्याय कर ही दूं कि यह बार-बार आकर मेरी नाक में दम तो न करे.’”
Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 प्रभु ने आगे कहा, “उस अधर्मी न्यायाधीश के शब्दों पर ध्यान दो कि उसने क्या कहा.
And Yahushua said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 तब क्या परमेश्वर अपने उन चुने हुओं का न्याय न करेंगे, जो दिन-रात उनके नाम की दोहाई दिया करते हैं? क्या वह उनके संबंध में देर करेंगे?
And shall not YHWH avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 सच मानो, परमेश्वर बिना देर किए उनके पक्ष में सक्रिय हो जाएंगे. फिर भी, क्या मनुष्य के पुत्र का पुनरागमन पर विश्वास बना रहेगा?”
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
9 तब प्रभु येशु ने उनके लिए, जो स्वयं को तो धर्मी मानते थे परंतु अन्यों को तुच्छ दृष्टि से देखते थे, यह दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत किया.
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 “प्रार्थना करने दो व्यक्ति मंदिर में गए, एक फ़रीसी था तथा दूसरा चुंगी लेनेवाला.
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 फ़रीसी की प्रार्थना इस प्रकार थी: ‘परमेश्वर! मैं आपका आभारी हूं कि मैं अन्य मनुष्यों जैसा नहीं हूं—छली, अन्यायी, व्यभिचारी और न इस चुंगी लेनेवाले के जैसा.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, Elohim, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 मैं सप्ताह में दो बार उपवास करता हूं और अपनी सारी आय का दसवां अंश दिया करता हूं.’
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 “किंतु चुंगी लेनेवाला दूर ही खड़ा रहा. उसने दृष्टि तक उठाने का साहस न किया, अपने सीने पर शोक में प्रहार करते हुए उसने कहा, ‘प्रभु परमेश्वर! कृपा कीजिए मुझ पापी पर!’
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, Elohim be merciful to me a sinner.
14 “विश्वास करो वास्तव में यही चुंगी लेनेवाला (परमेश्वर से) धर्मी घोषित किया जाकर घर लौटा—न कि वह फ़रीसी. क्योंकि हर एक, जो स्वयं को बड़ा बनाता है, छोटा बना दिया जाएगा तथा जो व्यक्ति स्वयं नम्र हो जाता है, वह ऊंचा उठाया जाता है.”
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
15 लोग अपने बालकों को प्रभु येशु के पास ला रहे थे कि प्रभु येशु उन्हें स्पर्श मात्र कर दें. शिष्य यह देख उन्हें डांटने लगे.
And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 प्रभु येशु ने बालकों को अपने पास बुलाते हुए कहा, “नन्हे बालकों को मेरे पास आने दो. मत रोको उन्हें! क्योंकि परमेश्वर का राज्य ऐसों ही का है.
But Yahushua called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of YHWH.
17 मैं तुम पर एक अटल सच्चाई प्रकट कर रहा हूं; जो परमेश्वर के राज्य को एक नन्हे बालक के भाव में ग्रहण नहीं करता, वह उसमें कभी प्रवेश न कर पाएगा.”
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of YHWH as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
18 एक प्रधान ने उनसे प्रश्न किया, “उत्तम गुरु! अनंत काल के जीवन को पाने के लिए मैं क्या करूं?” (aiōnios g166)
And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
19 “उत्तम मुझे क्यों कह रहे हो?” प्रभु येशु ने कहा, “परमेश्वर के अलावा उत्तम कोई भी नहीं है.
And Yahushua said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, YHWH.
20 आज्ञा तो तुम्हें मालूम ही हैं: व्यभिचार न करना, हत्या न करना, चोरी न करना, झूठी गवाही न देना, अपने माता-पिता का सम्मान करना.”
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
21 “इन सबका पालन तो मैं बचपन से करता आ रहा हूं,” उसने उत्तर दिया.
And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
22 यह सुन प्रभु येशु ने उससे कहा, “एक कमी फिर भी है तुममें. अपनी सारी संपत्ति बेचकर निर्धनों में बांट दो. धन तुम्हें स्वर्ग में प्राप्त होगा. तब आकर मेरे पीछे हो लो.”
Now when Yahushua heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
23 यह सुन वह प्रधान बहुत दुःखी हो गया क्योंकि वह बहुत धनी था.
And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
24 उसे देखकर प्रभु येशु ने कहा, “धनवानों का परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश कैसा कठिन है!
And when Yahushua saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of YHWH!
25 एक धनी के परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश करने की तुलना में सुई के छेद में से ऊंट का पार हो जाना सरल है.”
For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of YHWH.
26 इस पर सुननेवाले पूछने लगे, “तब किसका उद्धार संभव है?”
And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
27 प्रभु येशु ने उत्तर दिया, “जो मनुष्य के लिए असंभव है, वह परमेश्वर के लिए संभव है.”
And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with YHWH.
28 पेतरॉस ने प्रभु येशु से कहा, “हम तो अपना घरबार छोड़कर आपके पीछे चल रहे हैं.”
Then Kepha said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
29 प्रभु येशु ने इसके उत्तर में कहा, “सच तो यह है कि ऐसा कोई भी नहीं, जिसने परमेश्वर के राज्य के लिए अपनी घर-गृहस्थी, पत्नी, भाई, बहन, माता-पिता या संतान का त्याग किया हो
And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of YHWH 's sake,
31 तब प्रभु येशु ने बारहों शिष्यों को अलग ले जाकर उन पर प्रकट किया, “हम येरूशलेम नगर जा रहे हैं. भविष्यद्वक्ताओं द्वारा मनुष्य के पुत्र के विषय में जो भी लिखा गया है, वह पूरा होने पर है,
Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
32 उसे अन्यजातियों को सौंप दिया जाएगा. उसका उपहास किया जाएगा, उसे अपमानित किया जाएगा, उस पर थूका जाएगा.
For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
33 उसे कोड़े लगाने के बाद वे उसे मार डालेंगे और वह तीसरे दिन मरे हुओं में से जीवित हो जाएगा.”
And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
34 शिष्यों को कुछ भी समझ में न आया. उनसे इसका अर्थ छिपाकर रखा गया था. इस विषय में प्रभु येशु की कही बातें शिष्यों की समझ से परे थी.
And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
35 जब प्रभु येशु येरीख़ो नगर के पास पहुंचे, उन्हें एक अंधा मिला, जो मार्ग के किनारे बैठा हुआ भिक्षा मांग रहा था.
And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
36 भीड़ का शोर सुनकर उसने जानना चाहा कि क्या हो रहा है.
And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
37 उन्होंने उसे बताया, “नाज़रेथ के येशु यहां से होकर जा निकल रहें हैं.”
And they told him, that Yahushua of Nazareth passeth by.
38 वह अंधा पुकार उठा, “येशु! दावीद की संतान! मुझ पर दया कीजिए!”
And he cried, saying, Yahushua, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
39 उन्होंने, जो आगे-आगे चल रहे थे, उसे डांटा और उसे शांत रहने की आज्ञा दी. इस पर वह और भी ऊंचे शब्द में पुकारने लगा, “दावीद के पुत्र! मुझ पर कृपा कीजिए!”
And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
40 प्रभु येशु रुक गए और उन्हें आज्ञा दी कि वह व्यक्ति उनके पास लाया जाए. जब वह उनके पास लाया गया, प्रभु येशु ने उससे प्रश्न किया,
And Yahushua stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
41 “क्या चाहते हो? मैं तुम्हारे लिए क्या करूं?” “प्रभु मैं देखना चाहता हूं!” उसने उत्तर दिया.
Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Rabbi, that I may receive my sight.
42 प्रभु येशु ने कहा, “रोशनी प्राप्त करो. तुम्हारे विश्वास ने तुम्हें स्वस्थ किया है.”
And Yahushua said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
43 तत्काल ही वह देखने लगा. परमेश्वर की वंदना करते हुए वह प्रभु येशु के पीछे चलने लगा. यह देख सारी भीड़ भी परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करने लगी.
And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying YHWH: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto Elohim.
