यहोशू 15

1 यहूदाह गोत्र को उनके परिवारों के अनुसार बंटवारे में एदोम की सीमा मिली, जो ज़िन के वन के निर्जन प्रदेश में दक्षिण दिशा की ओर है.

And the lot for the tribe of the children of Judah after their families came by the border of Edom, with the wilderness of Zin, southward, as the uttermost southern boundary.

2 उनकी दक्षिण सीमा लवण-सागर के दक्षिण छोर से, उस खाड़ी से, जो दक्षिण की ओर मुड़ती है;

And their southern boundary was from the end of the salt sea, from the bay that bendeth southward:

3 और यह अक्रब्बीम चढ़ाई की ओर होती हुई ज़िन की ओर बढ़ जाती है, फिर कादेश-बरनेअ के दक्षिण से बढ़ते हुए हेज़रोन पहुंचती है, और अद्दार की ओर से कारका की ओर बढ़ जाती है.

And it went out to the south of the heights of 'Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Chezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karka';

4 यह आज़मोन की ओर से मिस्र की सरिता की ओर बढ़ती है तथा समुद्र में जाकर मिल जाती है; यह दक्षिण सीमा में थी.

And it passed on toward 'Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the terminations of the boundary were at the sea: this shall be your southern boundary.

5 यरदन के मुहाने तक लवण-सागर पूर्वी सीमा थी; और उत्तरी सीमा समुद्र की खाड़ी से थी, जो यरदन के मुहाने पर है.

And the east boundary was the salt sea, unto the end of the Jordan. And the boundary in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan;

6 फिर सीमा उत्तर दिशा से बढ़कर बेथ-होगलाह तक और उत्तर में बेथ-अराबाह से आगे बढ़ते हुए रियूबेन के पुत्र बोहन की शिला तक पहुंची.

And the boundary went up to Beth-choglah, and passed along by the north of Beth'arabah; and the boundary went up to Ebenbohan the son of Reuben;

7 सीमा फिर आकोर की घाटी से दबीर तक बढ़ी, और उत्तर में गिलगाल की ओर मुड़ गई, जो अदुम्मीम की चढ़ाई के पास, घाटी के दक्षिण में है. यह सीमा आगे बढ़ते हुए एन-शेमेश के सीमा तक पहुंचकर एन-रोगेल पर खत्म हो गई.

And the boundary went up toward Debir from the Valley of 'Achor, and at the north it bent toward Gilgal, that is opposite the heights of Adummim, which is on the south side of the valley; and the boundary passed toward the waters of 'En-shemesh, and its terminations were at En-rogel;

8 इसके बाद यह सीमा बेन-हिन्‍नोम की घाटी के यबूसी ढाल तक पहुंची, जो दक्षिण दिशा में अर्थात् येरूशलेम में हे, और यह सीमा पश्चिम में हिन्‍नोम की घाटी के पास पर्वत के शिखर तक पहुंची. जो हिन्‍नोम की घाटी के पश्चिमी में है, जो उत्तर की ओर रेफाइम की घाटी के अंतिम छोर पर है.

And the boundary went up to the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite, the same is Jerusalem; and the boundary went up to the top of the mount that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of Rephaim northward;

9 पर्वत शिखर से सीमा आगे बढ़कर नेफतोआह के झरने की ओर मुड़कर एफ्रोन पर्वत के नगरों की ओर बढ़ जाती है, तत्पश्चात सीमा बालाह अर्थात् किरयथ-यआरीम की ओर मुड़ जाती है.

And the boundary extended from the top of the mount unto the spring of the waters of Nephtoach, and went out to the cities of mount 'Ephron; and the boundary extended to Ba'alah, which is Kiryath-ye'arim;

10 फिर सीमा बालाह से पश्चिम दिशा में सेईर पर्वत की ओर मुड़ जाती है, और आगे बढ़ते हुए उत्तर में यआरीम पर्वत के अर्थात् कसालोन के ढाल पर पहुंचती है और आगे बेथ-शेमेश में जो तिमनाह पहुंचती है.

And the boundary compassed from Ba'alah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Ye'arim, which is Kessalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah;

11 तब सीमा एक्रोन के उत्तर की ओर बढ़कर शिक्‍केरोन की ओर जाती है और बालाह पर्वत की ओर से यबनेएल समुद्र पर जाकर समाप्‍त हुई.

And the boundary went out unto the side of 'Ekron northward; and the boundary extended to Shikron, and passed along to the mount of Ba'alah, and went out unto Yabneel; and the terminations of the boundary were at the sea.

12 पश्चिमी सीमा भूमध्य सागर थी. जो यहूदाह गोत्रजों के लिए उनके परिवारों के अनुसार दिया गया उसकी यही सीमा थी.

And the west boundary was by the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the boundary of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

13 यहोशू ने येफुन्‍नेह के पुत्र कालेब को यहूदाह गोत्र के बीच एक भाग दिया. याहवेह की ओर से यहोशू को यही आदेश मिला था कि कालेब को किरयथ-अरबा अर्थात् हेब्रोन दिया जाए. (अरबा अनाक के पूर्व-पिता का नाम था.)

And unto Caleb the son of Yephunneh he gave as a portion among the children of Judah, according to the order of the Lord to Joshua, Kiryath-arba' the father of 'Anak, which is Hebron.

14 कालेब ने अनाक के तीन पुत्रों; शेशाइ, अहीमान तथा तालमाई को वहां से निकाल दिया,

And Caleb drove out from there the three sons of 'Anak, Sheshai, and Achiman, and Talmai, the children of 'Anak.

15 फिर कालेब ने दबीर वासियों पर हमला किया. दबीर का पुराना नाम किरयथ-सेफेर था.

And he went up from there to the inhabitants of Debir; and the name of Debir before was Kiryath-sepher.

16 कालेब ने घोषणा की, “जो कोई किरयथ-सेफेर पर आक्रमण करके उसे अपने अधीन कर लेगा, मैं उसका विवाह अपनी पुत्री अक्सा से कर दूंगा!”

And Caleb said, He that will smite Kiryath-sepher, and capture it, to him will I give 'Achsah my daughter for wife.

17 कालेब के भाई केनज़ के पुत्र ओथनीएल ने किरयथ-सेफेर को अधीन कर लिया, तब कालेब ने उसे अपनी पुत्री अक्सा उसकी पत्नी होने के लिए दे दी.

And 'Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, captured it; and he gave him 'Achsah his daughter for wife.

18 विवाह होने के बाद जब अक्सा अपने पति से बात कर रही थी, उसने उसे अपने पिता से एक खेत मांगने के लिए कहा. जब वह अपने गधे पर से उतर गई, तब कालेब ने उससे पूछा, “तुम्हें क्या चाहिए?”

And it came to pass, as she came thither, that she persuaded him to ask of her father a field: and she alighted from her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What aileth thee?

19 उसने उत्तर दिया, “मुझे आपके आशीर्वाद की ज़रूरत है. जैसे आप मुझे नेगेव क्षेत्र दे ही चुके हैं, और यदि हो सके तो मुझे जल के सोते भी दे दीजिए.” तब कालेब ने उसे ऊपर का सोता, नीचे का सोता दोनों दे दिया.

And she said, Give me a blessing; for a dry land hast thou given me: give me then also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.

20 यहूदाह गोत्र के कुलों का उनके परिवारों के अनुसार जो बंटवारा किया वे ये हैं:

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21 दक्षिण में एदोम की सीमा से लगे प्रदेश में यहूदाह गोत्र के कुलों को दिये गये नगर थे: कबज़ीएल, एदर तथा यागूर,

And the cities of the boundary line of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom, on the south, were Kabzeel, and 'Eder, and Yagur,

22 कीनाह, दीमोनाह, अदआदाह,

And Kinah, and Dimonah, and 'Ad'adah,

23 केदेश, हाज़ोर, यिथनान,

And Kedesh, and Chazor, and Yithnan,

24 ज़ीफ़, तेलेम, बालोथ,

Ziph, and Telem, and Be'aloth,

25 हाज़ोर हदत्ताह, केरिओथ-हेज़रोन अर्थात् हाज़ेर,

And Chazor-chadattah, and Keriyoth-chezron, which is Chazor,

26 अमाम, शेमा, मोलादाह,

Amam, and Shema', and Moladah,

27 हाज़र-गद्दाह, हेशमोन, बेथ-पेलेट,

And Chazar-gaddah, and Cheshmon, and Beth-palet,

28 हाज़र-शूआल, बेअरशेबा, बिज़योथयाह,

And Chazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Bizyotheyah,

29 बालाह, इय्यीम, एज़ेम,

Ba'alah, and 'Iyim, and 'Azem,

30 एलतोलद, कसील, होरमाह,

And Eltolad, and Kessil, and Chormah,

31 ज़िकलाग, मदमन्‍नाह, सनसन्‍नाह,

And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

32 लबाओथ, शिलहीम, एइन तथा रिम्मोन; उनके गांवों सहित कुल उनतीस नगर.

And Lebaoth, and Shilchim, and 'Ayin, and Rimmon: in all twenty and nine cities, with their villages.

33 पश्चिम तलहटी में: एशताओल, ज़ोराह, अशनाह,

And in the lowlands, Eshtaol, and Zor'ah, and Ashnah.

34 ज़ानोहा, एन-गन्‍नीम, तप्पूआह, एनाम,

And Zanoach, and 'En-gannim, Tappuach, and 'Enam,

35 यरमूथ, अदुल्लाम, सोकोह, अज़ेका,

Yarmuth, and 'Adullam, Sochoh, and 'Azekah,

36 शअरयिम, अदीथयिम, गदेरा तथा गदेरोथायिम और उनके गांवों के साथ चौदह नगर.

And Sha'arayim, and 'Adithayim, and Gederah, and Gede-rothayim: fourteen cities with their villages.

37 सेनान, हदाशा, मिगदल-गाद,

Zenan, and Chadashah, and Migdalgad,

38 दिलआन, मिज़पाह, योकथएल,

And Dil'an, and Mizpeh, and Yoktheel,

39 लाकीश, बोत्सकथ, एगलोन,

Lachish, and Bozkath, and 'Eglon,

40 कब्बोन, लहमास, किथलीश,

And Cabbon, and Lachmass, and Kithlish,

41 गदेरोथ, बेथ-दागोन, नामाह तथा मक्‍केदा; गांवों सहित सोलह नगर.

And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Na'amah, and Makkedah: sixteen cities with their villages.

42 लिबनाह, एतेर, आशान,

Libnah, and 'Ether, and 'Ashan,

43 यिफ्ताह, अशनाह, नज़ीब,

And Yiphtach, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

44 काइलाह, अकज़ीब तथा मारेशाह और गांवों सहित नौ नगर.

And Ke'ilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah: nine cities with their villages.

45 एक्रोन इसके गांवों तथा नगरों सहित;

'Ekron, with its towns and its villages:

46 एक्रोन से लेकर समुद्र तक, अपने-अपने गांवों के साथ, जितने नगर अशदोद की ओर है;

From 'Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay alongside of Ashdod, with their villages.

47 अशदोद तथा उसके समस्त गांवों का क्षेत्र; मिस्र की सरिता, भूमध्य सागर के तटवर्ती क्षेत्र से लेकर गांवों सहित अशदोद के नगर; गांवों सहित अज्जाह एवं उसके नगर.

Ashdod with its towns and its villages, Gazzah, with its towns and its villages, up to the brook of Egypt, and the great sea, and its territory.

48 पर्वतीय क्षेत्र में: शामीर, यत्तिर, सोकोह,

And in the mountains, Shamir, and Yattir, and Sochoh,

49 दन्‍नाह, किरयथ-सन्‍नाह अर्थात् दबीर,

And Dannah and Kiryath-sannah, which is Debir,

50 अनाब, एशतमोह, अनीम,

And 'Anab, and Eshtemoh, and 'Anim.

51 गोशेन, होलोन तथा गिलोह; गांवों सहित ग्यारह नगर.

And Goshen, and Cholon, and Giloh: eleven cities with their villages.

52 अरब, दूमाह, एशआन,

Arab, and Dumah, and Esh'an,

53 यानूम, बेथ-तप्पूआह, अफेकाह,

And Vanum, and Beth-tappuach, and Aphekah,

54 हूमटा, किरयथ-अरबा अर्थात् हेब्रोन तथा ज़ीओर; गांवों सहित नौ नगर.

And Chumtah, and Kiryath-arba', which is Hebron, and Zi'or: nine cities with their villages.

55 माओन, कर्मेल, ज़ीफ़, युताह,

Ma'on, Carmel, and Ziph, and Yutah,

56 येज़्रील, योकदआम, ज़ानोहा,

And Yizre'el, and Yokde'am, and Zanoach,

57 कयीन, गिबियाह तथा तिमनाह; इनके गांवों सहित दस नगर.

Kayin, Gib'ah, and Timnah: ten cities with their villages.

58 हलहूल, बेथ-त्सूर, गेदोर,

Chatchul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,

59 माराथ, बेथ-अनोथ, एलतेकोन; इनके गांवों सहित छः नगर.

And Ma'arath, and Beth-'anoth, and Eltekon: six cities with their village.

60 किरयथ-बाल अर्थात् किरयथ-यआरीम तथा रब्बाह, इनके गांवों सहित दो नगर.

Kiryath-baal, which is Kiryath-ye'arim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.

61 निर्जन प्रदेश में: बेथ-अराबाह, मिद्दीन, सकाकाह,

In the wilderness, Beth-ha'arabah, Middin, and Sechachah,

62 निबशान, लवण का नगर तथा एन-गेदी; इनके गांवों सहित छः नगर जो.

And Nibshan, and 'Ir-hammelach, and 'En-gedi: six cities with their villages.

63 यहूदाह गोत्रज येरूशलेम के ही रहनेवाले यबूसियों को निकाल न सके. इस कारण यबूसी अब तक यहूदाह गोत्रजों के साथ हैं.

As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, these the children of Judah could not drive out; but the Jebusites dwelt with the children of Judah at Jerusalem, even unto this day.
