यूहन्ना 13
1 फ़सह उत्सव के पूर्व ही मसीह येशु यह जानते थे कि उनका संसार को छोड़कर पिता परमेश्वर के पास लौट जाने का समय पास आ गया है. मसीह येशु उनसे हमेशा प्रेम करते रहे, जो संसार में उनके अपने थे किंतु अब उन्होंने उनसे अंत तक वैसा ही प्रेम रखा.
Now just before the Feast of the Passover this incident took place. Jesus knew that the time had come for Him to leave this world and go to the Father; and having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.
2 शिमओन के पुत्र कारियोतवासी यहूदाह के मन में शैतान यह विचार डाल चुका था कि वह मसीह येशु के साथ धोखा करे.
While supper was proceeding, the Devil having by this time suggested to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, the thought of betraying Him, Jesus,
3 भोज के समय मसीह येशु ने भली-भांति यह जानते हुए कि पिता ने सब कुछ उनके हाथ में कर दिया है और यह भी, कि वह परमेश्वर की ओर से आए हैं और परमेश्वर के पास लौट रहे हैं,
although He knew that the Father had put everything into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and was now going to God,
4 भोजन की मेज़ से उठकर अपने बाहरी कपड़े उतारे, कमर में अंगोछा बांध लिया
rose from the table, threw off His upper garments, and took a towel and tied it round Him.
5 और एक बर्तन में जल उंडेलकर शिष्यों के पांव धोने और कमर में बंधे अंगोछे से पोंछने लगे.
Then He poured water into a basin, and proceeded to wash the feet of the disciples and to wipe them with the towel which He had put round Him.
6 जब वह शिमओन पेतरॉस के पास आए तो पेतरॉस ने उनसे कहा, “प्रभु, आप मेरे पांव धोएंगे?”
When He came to Simon Peter, Peter objected. "Master," he said, "are you going to wash my feet?"
7 मसीह येशु ने उत्तर दिया, “जो मैं कर रहा हूं, तुम उसे इस समय नहीं, कुछ समय बाद समझोगे.”
"What I am doing," answered Jesus, "for the present you do not know, but afterwards you shall know."
8 पेतरॉस ने कहा, “नहीं, प्रभु, आप मेरे पांव कभी भी न धोएंगे.” “यदि मैं तुम्हारे पांव न धोऊं तो तुम्हारा मेरे साथ कोई संबंध नहीं रह जाएगा,” मसीह येशु ने कहा. (aiōn g165)
"Never, while the world lasts," said Peter, "shall you wash my feet." "If I do not wash you," replied Jesus, "you have no share with me." (aiōn g165)
9 इस पर शिमओन पेतरॉस ने मसीह येशु से कहा, “प्रभु, तब तो मेरे पांव ही नहीं, हाथ और सिर भी धो दीजिए.”
"Master," said Peter, "wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head."
10 मसीह येशु ने कहा, “जो स्नान कर चुका है, वह पूरी तरह साफ़ हो चुका है, उसे ज़रूरत है मात्र पांव धोने की; तुम लोग साफ़ हो परंतु सबके सब साफ़ नहीं.”
"Any one who has lately bathed," said Jesus, "does not need to wash more than his feet, but is clean all over. And you my disciples are clean, and yet this is not true of all of you."
11 मसीह येशु यह जानते थे कि कौन उनके साथ धोखा कर रहा है, इसलिये उन्होंने यह कहा: “परंतु सबके सब साफ़ नहीं.”
For He knew who was betraying Him, and that was why He said, "You are not all of you clean."
12 जब मसीह येशु शिष्यों के पांव धोकर, अपने बाहरी कपड़े दोबारा पहनकर भोजन के लिए बैठ गए, तो उन्होंने शिष्यों से कहा, “तुम समझ रहे हो कि मैंने तुम्हारे साथ यह क्या किया है?
So after He had washed their feet, put on His garments again, and returned to the table, He said to them, "Do you understand what I have done to you?
13 तुम लोग मुझे ‘गुरु’ और ‘प्रभु,’ कहते हो, सही ही है—क्योंकि मैं वह हूं.
You call me 'The Rabbi' and 'The Master,' and rightly so, for such I am.
14 इसलिये यदि मैंने, ‘प्रभु’ और ‘गुरु’ होकर भी तुम्हारे पांव धोए हैं, तो सही है कि तुम भी एक दूसरे के पांव धोओ.
If I then, your Master and Rabbi, have washed your feet, it is also your duty to wash one another's feet.
15 मैंने तुम्हारे सामने एक आदर्श प्रस्तुत किया है—तुम भी वैसा ही करो, जैसा मैंने तुम्हारे साथ किया है.
For I have set you an example in order that you may do what I have done to you.
16 मैं तुम पर यह अटल सच्चाई प्रकट कर रहा हूं: दास अपने स्वामी से बढ़कर नहीं होता और न ही कोई भेजा हुआ दूत अपने भेजनेवाले से.
In most solemn truth I tell you that a servant is not superior to his master, nor is a messenger superior to him who sent him.
17 ये सब तो तुम जानते ही हो. सुखद होगा तुम्हारा जीवन यदि तुम इनका पालन भी करो.
If you know all this, blessed are you if you act accordingly.
18 “मैं तुम सबके विषय में नहीं कह रहा हूं—मैं जानता हूं कि मैंने किन्हें चुना है. मैं यह इसलिये कह रहा हूं कि पवित्र शास्त्र का यह लेख पूरा हो: जो मेरी रोटी खाता है, उसी ने मुझ पर लात उठाई है.
I am not speaking of all of you. I know whom I have chosen, but things are as they are in order that the Scripture may be fulfilled, which says, 'He who eats my bread has lifted up his heel against me.'
19 “यह सब घटित होने के पूर्व ही मैं तुम्हें बता रहा हूं कि जब ये सब घटित हो तो तुम विश्वास करो कि वह मैं ही हूं.
From this time forward I tell you things before they happen, in order that when they do happen you may believe that I am He.
20 मैं तुम पर यह अटल सच्चाई प्रकट कर रहा हूं: जो मेरे किसी भी भेजे हुए को ग्रहण करता है, वह मुझे ग्रहण करता है और जो मुझे ग्रहण करता है, मेरे भेजनेवाले को ग्रहण करता है.”
In most solemn truth I tell you that he who receives whoever I send receives me, and that he who receives me receives Him who sent me."
21 यह कहते-कहते मसीह येशु आत्मा में व्याकुल हो उठे. उन्होंने कहा, “मैं तुम पर यह अटल सच्चाई प्रकट कर रहा हूं: तुममें से एक मेरे साथ धोखा करेगा.”
After speaking thus Jesus was troubled in spirit and said with deep earnestness, "In most solemn truth I tell you that one of you will betray me."
22 शिष्य संदेह में एक दूसरे को देखने लगे कि गुरु यह किसके विषय में कह रहे हैं.
The disciples began looking at one another, at a loss to know to which of them He was referring.
23 एक शिष्य, जो मसीह येशु का विशेष प्रियजन था, उनके अत्यंत पास बैठा था;
There was at table one of His disciples--the one Jesus loved-- reclining with his head on Jesus's bosom.
24 शिमओन पेतरॉस ने उससे संकेत से पूछा, “प्रभु ऐसा किसके विषय में कह रहे हैं?”
Making a sign therefore to him, Simon Peter said, "Tell us to whom he is referring."
25 उस शिष्य ने मसीह येशु से पूछा, “कौन है वह, प्रभु?”
So he, having his head on Jesus's bosom, leaned back and asked, "Master, who is it?"
26 मसीह येशु ने उत्तर दिया, “जिसे मैं यह रोटी डुबोकर दूंगा, वह.” तब उन्होंने रोटी शिमओन के पुत्र कारियोतवासी यहूदाह को दे दी.
"It is the one," answered Jesus, "for whom I shall dip this piece of bread and to whom I shall give it." Accordingly He dipped the piece of bread, and took it and gave it to Judas, the son of the Iscariot Simon.
27 टुकड़ा लेते ही उसमें शैतान समा गया. मसीह येशु ने उससे कहा. “तुम्हें जो कुछ करना है, शीघ्र करो.”
Then, after Judas had received the piece of bread, Satan entered into him. "Lose no time about it," said Jesus to him.
28 भोजन पर बैठे किसी भी शिष्य को यह मालूम न हो पाया कि उन्होंने यह उससे किस मतलब से कहा था.
But why He said this no one else at the table understood.
29 कुछ ने यह समझा कि मसीह येशु उससे कह रहे हैं कि जो कुछ हमें पर्व के लिए चाहिए, शीघ्र मोल लो या गरीबों को कुछ दे दो क्योंकि यहूदाह के पास धन की थैली रहती थी.
Some, however, supposed that because Judas had the money-box Jesus meant, "Buy what we require for the Festival," or that he should give something to the poor.
30 इसलिये यहूदाह तत्काल बाहर चला गया. वह रात का समय था.
So Judas took the piece of bread and immediately went out. And it was night.
31 जब यहूदाह बाहर चला गया तो मसीह येशु ने कहा, “अब मनुष्य का पुत्र गौरवान्वित हुआ है और उसमें परमेश्वर गौरवान्वित हुए हैं.
So when he was gone out, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him.
32 यदि उसमें परमेश्वर महिमित हुए हैं तो परमेश्वर भी उसे स्वयं महिमित करेंगे और शीघ्र ही महिमित करेंगे.
Moreover God will glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him without delay.
33 “मैं बस अब थोड़ी ही देर तुम्हारे साथ हूं, तुम मुझे ढूंढ़ोगे और जैसा मैंने यहूदी अगुओं से कहा है, वैसा मैं तुमसे भी कहता हूं, ‘जहां मैं जा रहा हूं वहां तुम नहीं आ सकते.’
Dear children, I am still with you a little longer. You will seek me, but, as I said to the Jews, 'Where I am going you cannot come,' so for the present I say to you.
34 “मैं तुम्हें एक नई आज्ञा दे रहा हूं: एक दूसरे से प्रेम करो—जैसे मैंने तुमसे प्रेम किया है, वैसे ही तुम भी एक दूसरे से प्रेम करो.
A new commandment I give you, to love one another; that as I have loved you, you also may love one another.
35 यदि तुम एक दूसरे से प्रेम करोगे तो यह सब जान लेंगे कि तुम मेरे चेले हो.”
It is by this that every one will know that you are my disciples--if you love one another."
36 शिमओन पेतरॉस ने पूछा, “प्रभु, आप कहां जा रहे हैं?” मसीह येशु ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “जहां मैं जा रहा हूं, वहां मेरे पीछे चलते हुए तुम अभी नहीं आ सकते—तुम वहां कुछ समय बाद आओगे.”
"Master," inquired Simon Peter, "where are you going?" "Where I am going," replied Jesus, "you cannot be my follower now, but you shall be later."
37 पेतरॉस ने उनसे दोबारा पूछा, “प्रभु, मैं आपके पीछे अभी क्यों नहीं चल सकता? मैं तो आपके लिए अपने प्राण भी दे दूंगा.”
"Master," asked Peter again, "why cannot I follow you now? I will lay down my life on your behalf.
38 मसीह येशु ने उनसे कहा, “तुम मेरे लिए अपने प्राण देने का दावा करते हो? मैं तुमसे कहता हूं, मुर्ग उस समय तक बांग नहीं देगा जब तक तुम तीन बार मुझे नकार न दोगे.
"You say you will lay down your life on my behalf!" said Jesus; "in most solemn truth I tell you that the cock will not crow before you have three times disowned me."
