योएल 1
1 याहवेह का वह वचन जो पथूएल के पुत्र योएल के पास आया.
The word of the Lord which came to Joel the son of Bathuel.
2 हे अगुओ, यह बात सुनो; हे देश में रहनेवाले सब लोगों, मेरी बात सुनो. क्या तुम्हारे समय में या तुम्हारे पूर्वजों के समय में ऐसी कोई बात कभी हुई?
Hear these [words], you elders, and listen all you that inhabit the land. Have such things happen in your days, or in the days of your fathers?
3 अपने बच्चों को यह बात बताओ, और तुम्हारे बच्चे यह बात अपने बच्चों को बताएं, और वे बच्चे उनके अगली पीढ़ी को बताएं.
Tell your children concerning them, and [let] your children [tell] their children, and their children another generation.
4 टिड्डियों के झुंड ने जो छोड़ दिया था उसे बड़े टिड्डियों ने खा लिया है; बड़े टिड्डियों ने जो छोड़ दिया था उसे छोटे टिड्डियों ने खा लिया है; और छोटे टिड्डियों ने छोड़ दिया था उसे दूसरे टिड्डियों ने खा लिया है.
The leavings of the caterpillar has the locust eaten, and the leavings of the locust has the palmerworm eaten, and the leavings of the palmerworm has the cankerworm eaten.
5 हे मतवालो, जागो, और रोओ! हे सब शराब पीने वालों, विलाप करो; नई दाखमधु के कारण विलाप करो, क्योंकि इसे तुम्हारे मुंह से छीन लिया गया है.
Awake, you drunkards, from your wine, and weep: mourn, all you that drink wine to drunkenness: for joy and gladness and removed are from your mouth.
6 मेरे देश पर एक-एक जाति ने आक्रमण कर दिया है, वह एक शक्तिशाली सेना है और उनकी संख्या अनगिनत है; उसके दांत सिंह के दांत के समान, और उसकी दाढ़ें सिंहनी की दाढ़ के समान हैं.
For a strong and innumerable nation is come up against my land, their teeth are lion's teeth, and their back teeth those of a [lion's] whelp.
7 उसने मेरी अंगूर की लताओं को उजाड़ दिया है और मेरे अंजीर के पेड़ों को नष्ट कर दिया है. उसने उनकी छाल को छील दिया है, और उनकी शाखाओं को सफेद छोड़कर उनकी छाल को फेंक दिया है.
He has ruined my vine, and utterly broken my fig-trees: he has utterly searched [my vine], and cast it down; he has peeled its branches.
8 तुम ऐसे विलाप करो, जैसे एक कुंवारी टाट के कपड़े पहिने अपनी युवावस्था के सगाई के पुरुष के लिये शोक करती है.
Lament to me more than a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
9 याहवेह के भवन में अब न तो अन्नबलि और न ही पेय बलि चढ़ाई जाती है. याहवेह की सेवा करनेवाले पुरोहित विलाप कर रहे हैं.
The meat-offering and drink-offering are removed from the house of the Lord: mourn, you priests that serve at the altar of the Lord.
10 खेत नष्ट हो गये हैं, ज़मीन सूख गई है; अनाज नष्ट हो गया है, नई दाखमधु सूख गई है, जैतून का तेल समाप्त होता है.
For the plains languish: let the land mourn, for the corn languishes; the wine is dried up, the oil becomes scarce;
11 हे किसानो, निराश हो, हे अंगूर की लता लगानेवालो, विलाप करो; गेहूं और जौ के लिये दुःख मनाओ, क्योंकि खेत की फसल नाश हो गई है.
the husbandmen are consumed: mourn your property on account of the wheat and barley; for the harvest has perished from off the field.
12 अंगूर की लता सूख गई है और अंजीर का पेड़ मुरझा गया है; अनार, खजूर तथा सेब के पेड़— मैदान के सब पेड़—सूख गये हैं. इसमें संदेह नहीं कि लोगों का आनंद जाता रहा है.
The vine is dried up, and the fig-trees are become few; the pomegranate, and palm tree, and apple, and all trees of the field are dried up: for the sons of men have have abolished joy.
13 हे पुरोहितो, शोक-वस्त्र पहनकर विलाप करो; तुम जो वेदी पर सेवा करते हो, विलाप करो. तुम जो मेरे परमेश्वर की सेवा करते हो, आओ, और शोक-वस्त्र पहनकर रात बिताओ; क्योंकि तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के भवन में अन्नबलि और पेय बलि चढ़ाना बंद कर दिया गया है.
Gird yourselves [with sackcloth], and lament, you priests: mourn, you that serve at the altar: go in, sleep in sackcloths, you that minister to God: for the meat-offering and drink-offering are withheld from the house of your God.
14 एक पवित्र उपवास की घोषणा करो; एक विशेष सभा करो. अगुओं को और उन सबको जो देश में रहते हैं याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के भवन में बुलाओ, और याहवेह के सामने गिड़गिड़ाकर विनती करो.
Sanctify a fast, proclaim a [solemn] service, gather the elders [and] all the inhabitants of the land into the house of your God, and cry earnestly to the Lord,
15 उस दिन के लिये हाय! क्योंकि याहवेह का दिन निकट है; यह सर्वशक्तिमान की ओर से विनाश का दिन होकर आएगा.
Alas, Alas, Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is near, and it will come as trouble upon trouble.
16 क्या हमारे देखते-देखते भोजन वस्तुओं की पूर्ति बंद नहीं हुईं— और इसी प्रकार हमारे परमेश्वर के भवन से आनंद और खुशी खत्म नहीं हो गई?
[Your] meat has been destroyed before your eyes, joy and gladness from out of the house of your God.
17 मिट्टी के ढेलों के नीचे बीज झुलस गये हैं. भण्डारगृह खंडहर हो रहे हैं, भण्डारगृह ढहा दिये गये हैं, क्योंकि उपज हुई ही नहीं.
The heifers have started at their mangers, the treasures are abolished, the wine presses are broken down; for the corn is withered.
18 पशु कैसे कराह रहे हैं! पशुओं के झुंड के झुंड विचलित हो भटक रहे हैं क्योंकि उनके लिए चरागाह नहीं है; यहां तक कि भेड़ों के झुंड भी कष्ट में हैं.
What shall we store up for ourselves? the herds of cattle have mourned, because they had no pasture; and the flocks of sheep have been utterly destroyed.
19 हे याहवेह, मैं आपको पुकारता हूं, क्योंकि सुनसान जगह के चरागाहों को आग ने नष्ट कर दिया है और आग की ज्वाला ने मैदान के सब पेड़ों को जला डाला है.
To you, O Lord, will I cry: for fire has devoured the fair places of the wilderness, and a flame has burnt up all the trees of the field.
20 और तो और जंगली जानवर आपकी चाह करते हैं; जल के सोते सूख चुके हैं और सुनसान जगह के चरागाहों को आग ने नष्ट कर दिया है.
And the cattle of the field have looked up to you: for the fountains of waters have been dried up, and fire has devoured the fair places of the wilderness.
