योएल 2

1 ज़ियोन में तुरही फूंको; मेरे पवित्र पहाड़ी पर खतरे की घंटी बजाओ. देश में रहनेवाले सबके सब कांपे क्योंकि याहवेह का दिन आ रहा है. वह निकट आ गया है—

Blow the trumpet in Zion, wail on my holy mountain, let all the inhabitants of the land be stirred up. For the day of the Lord is on its way; for it is near:

2 वह अंधकार और धुंधलेपन का दिन है, वह बादलों से भरा अंधकार का दिन है. जैसे पहाड़ों पर भोर का उजियाला फैलता है वैसे ही एक बड़ी और शक्तिशाली सेना चली आती है, ऐसा जो पूर्वकाल में कभी नहीं हुआ है, और न ही आनेवाले समय में कभी ऐसा होगा.

a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and whirlwinds. Like the morning reaching over the mountains, they are a numerous and strong people. Nothing like them has existed since the beginning, nor will exist after them, even in the years of generation upon generation.

3 उनके सामने आग विनाश करती है, और उनके पीछे आग की लपटें हैं. उनके सामने देश एदेन की वाटिका के समान है, और उनके पीछे, एक उजाड़ मरुस्थल— किसी का भी उनसे बचना संभव नहीं है.

Before their face is a devouring fire, and behind them is a burning flame. The land before them is like a lush garden, and behind them is a desolate desert, and there is no one who can escape them.

4 उनका स्वरूप घोड़ों जैसा है; और वे घुड़सवार सेना के जैसे सरपट दौड़ते हैं.

Their appearance is like the appearance of horses, and they will rush forward like horsemen.

5 उनके आगे बढ़ने की आवाज रथों के समान है, वे पहाड़ के चोटियों पर से कूद जाती हैं, धधकती आग के समान वे ठूठों को भस्म करती जाती हैं, वे युद्ध के लिए तैयार शक्तिशाली सेना के समान हैं.

Like the sound of a four-horse chariot, they will leap over the tops of the mountains. Like the sound of a burning flame devouring stubble, they are as a strong people prepared for battle.

6 उनके सामने जाति-जाति के लोग भय से पीड़ित हो जाते हैं; हर एक का चेहरा डर से पीला पड़ जाता है.

Before their face, the people will be tortured; each one’s appearance will retreat, as if into a jar.

7 वे योद्धाओं के समान आक्रमण करते हैं; वे सैनिकों की तरह दीवारों पर चढ़ जाते हैं. वे सब पंक्तिबद्ध होकर आगे बढ़ते हैं, और वे अपने क्रम से नहीं हटते हैं.

They will rush forward, as if they were strong. Like valiant warriors, they will ascend the wall. The men will advance, each one on his own way, and they will not turn aside from their path.

8 वे एक दूसरे को धक्का नहीं देते; हर एक सीधा आगे बढ़ता है. वे अपने क्रम को बिना तोड़े समस्याओं से होकर निकल जाते हैं.

And each one will not hem in his brother; every one will walk in his own rough path. Moreover, they will drop through the breach and not be harmed.

9 वे तेजी से शहर में प्रवेश करते हैं; वे दीवारों के समानांतर दौड़ते हैं. वे घरों पर चढ़ते हैं; और वे चोरों के समान खिड़कियों से अंदर जाते हैं.

They will advance into the city; they will rush through the wall. They will scale the houses; they will go in through the windows, like a thief.

10 उनके सामने पृथ्वी तक कांप उठती है, आकाश थरथराता है. सूर्य तथा चंद्रमा धुंधले हो जाते हैं, और तारे चमकना छोड़ देते हैं.

Before their face, the earth has trembled, the heavens have been moved. The sun and moon have been obscured, and the stars have retracted their splendor.

11 याहवेह अपनी सेना के आगे होकर ऊंची आवाज में आदेश देते हैं; उनकी सेना की संख्या अनगिनत है, और वह सेना शक्तिशाली है जो उनके आदेश का पालन करती है. याहवेह का यह दिन महान है; यह भयानक है. उसे कौन सहन कर सकता है?

And the Lord has bestowed his voice before the face of his army. For its military camps are very numerous; for they are strong and they carry out his word. For the day of the Lord is great and so very terrible, and who can withstand it?

12 “फिर भी अब,” याहवेह का कहना है, “तुम सारे जन उपवास करते और रोते और विलाप करते मेरे पास लौट आओ.”

Now, therefore, the Lord says: “Be converted to me with your whole heart, in fasting and weeping and mourning.”

13 अपने कपड़ों को नहीं, अपने मन को फाड़ो. याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर के पास लौट आओ, क्योंकि वे अनुग्रहकारी और करुणामय, क्रोध करने में धीमा और बहुतायत से प्रेम करनेवाले हैं, विपत्ति भेजने में कोमलता दिखाते हैं.

And rend your hearts, and not your garments, and convert to the Lord your God. For he is gracious and merciful, patient and full of compassion, and steadfast despite ill will.

14 कौन जाने? वे अपना विचार छोड़कर कोमलता दिखाएं और अपने पीछे एक आशीष— याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के लिए अन्‍नबलि और पेय बलि छोड़ जाएं.

Who knows if he might convert and forgive, and bequeath a blessing after him, a sacrifice and a libation to the Lord your God?

15 ज़ियोन में तुरही फूंको, एक पवित्र उपवास की घोषणा करो, एक पवित्र सभा का आयोजन करो.

Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call an assembly.

16 लोगों को जमा करो, सभा को पवित्र करो; अगुओं को एक साथ लाओ, बच्चों और दूध पीते छोटे बच्चों को इकट्ठा करो. दूल्हा अपने कमरे को और दुल्हन अपने कक्ष को छोड़कर बाहर आएं.

Gather the people, sanctify the church, unite the elders, gather together the little ones and infants at the breast. Let the bridegroom depart from his bed, and the bride from her bridal chamber.

17 पुरोहित और याहवेह की सेवा करनेवाले, मंडप और वेदी के बीच रोएं. और वे कहें, “हे याहवेह, अपने लोगों पर तरस खाईये. अपने निज लोगों को जाति-जाति के बीच उपहास का विषय, एक कहावत मत बनाइए. वे लोगों के बीच क्यों कहें, ‘कहां है उनका परमेश्वर?’”

Between the vestibule and the altar, the priests, the ministers of the Lord, will weep, and they will say: “Spare, O Lord, spare your people. And do not bequeath your inheritance into disgrace, so that the nations would rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”

18 तब याहवेह को अपने देश के विषय में जलन हुई और उन्होंने अपने लोगों पर तरस खाया.

The Lord has been zealous for his land, and he has spared his people.

19 याहवेह ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया: “मैं तुम्हारे लिए अन्‍न, नई अंगूर की दाखमधु और जैतून पर्याप्‍त मात्रा में भेज रहा हूं, कि तुम सब पूरी तरह संतुष्ट हो जाओ; मैं तुम्हें अन्यजातियों के लिए फिर कभी हंसी का पात्र नहीं बनाऊंगा.

And the Lord responded, and he said to his people: “Behold, I will send you grain and wine and oil, and you will again be filled with them. And I will no longer give you disgrace among the Gentiles.

20 “मैं उत्तर के उपद्रवी झुंड को तुमसे दूर भगा दूंगा, और उसे एक सूखा और बंजर देश कर दूंगा; उसका पूर्वी भाग मृत सागर और पश्चिमी भाग भूमध्य-सागर में डूब जाएगा. और उसकी दुर्गंध ऊपर जाएगी; उसकी गंध उठती रहेगी.” निःसंदेह याहवेह ने महान कार्य किए हैं!

And he who is from the North, I will drive far from you. And I will expel him into an impassable land, and into the desert, with his face opposite the Eastern sea, and his furthest part towards the furthest sea. And his stench will ascend, and his rottenness will ascend, because he has acted arrogantly.

21 हे यहूदिया देश, मत डरो; खुश और आनंदित हो. निःसंदेह याहवेह ने महान कार्य किए हैं!

Earth, do not be afraid. Exult and rejoice. For the Lord has great esteem for what he has done.

22 हे जंगली जानवरों, मत डरो, क्योंकि निर्जन जगह के चरागाह हरे-भरे हो रहे हैं. पेड़ों में फल लग रहे हैं; अंजीर का पेड़ और अंगूर की लता भरपूर उपज दे रही हैं.

Animals of the countryside, do not be afraid. For the beauty of the wilderness has sprung forth. For the tree has borne its fruit. The fig tree and the vine have bestowed their virtue.

23 ज़ियोन के लोगों, खुश हो, याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर में आनंदित हो, क्योंकि उन्होंने तुम्हें शरद ऋतु की बारिश दी है क्योंकि वे विश्वासयोग्य हैं. उन्होंने तुम्हारे लिये बहुत वर्षा दी है, पहले के समान शरद और वसन्त ऋतु की वर्षा दी है.

And you, sons of Zion, exult and rejoice in the Lord your God. For he has given you a teacher of justice, and he will make the early and the late rains descend to you, just as it was in the beginning.

24 खलिहान अन्‍न से भर जाएंगे; कुंडों में अंगूर की दाखमधु और तेल की इतनी अधिकता होगी कि वे भरकर उछलने लगेंगे.

And the threshing floors will be filled with grain, and the presses will overflow with wine and oil.

25 “मैं तुम्हारे उन सब वर्षों की उपज की भरपायी कर दूंगा जिसे टिड्डियों ने खा लिया था— बड़े टिड्डी और छोटे टिड्डी, दूसरे टिड्डी और टिड्डियों का झुंड— मेरी बड़ी सेना जिसे मैंने तुम्हारे बीच भेजा था.

And I will repay you for the years which the locust, and the beetle, and the mildew, and the caterpillar consumed: my great strength which I sent upon you.

26 तुम्हारे पास खाने के लिए भोजन वस्तु और तुम पेट भर खाओगे, और तुम याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर के नाम की स्तुति करोगे, जिसने तुम्हारे लिये अद्भुत काम किए हैं; मेरे लोग फिर कभी लज्जित नहीं होंगे.

And you will eat with enjoyment, and you will be satisfied, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked miracles with you, and my people will not be confounded forever.

27 तब तुम जानोगे कि इस्राएल में हूं, और यह कि मैं याहवेह तुम्हारा परमेश्वर हूं, और यह भी कि मेरे अतिरिक्त और कोई परमेश्वर नहीं है; मेरे लोग फिर कभी लज्जित नहीं होंगे.

And you will know that I am in the midst of Israel, and I am the Lord your God, and there is no other, and my people will not be confounded forever.

28 “और उसके बाद, मैं अपना आत्मा सब लोगों पर उंडेलूंगा. तुम्हारे बेटे और बेटियां भविष्यवाणी करेंगे, तुम्हारे बुज़ुर्ग लोग स्वप्न देखेंगे, तुम्हारे जवान दर्शन देखेंगे.

And after this, it will happen that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy; your elders will dream dreams, and your youths will see visions.

29 मैं उन दिनों में अपने दास, और दासियों, पर अपना आत्मा उंडेल दूंगा,

Moreover, in those days I will pour out my spirit upon my servants and handmaids.

30 मैं ऊपर आकाश में अद्भुत चमत्कार और नीचे पृथ्वी पर लहू, आग और धुएं के बादल के अद्भुत चिह्न दिखाऊंगा.

And I will grant wonders in the sky and on earth: blood and fire and the vapor of smoke.

31 याहवेह के उस वैभवशाली और भयानक दिन के पूर्व सूर्य अंधेरा और चंद्रमा लहू समान हो जाएगा.

The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord shall arrive.

32 और हर एक, जो प्रभु को पुकारेगा, उद्धार प्राप्‍त करेगा. क्योंकि छुटकारे की जगह ज़ियोन पर्वत तथा येरूशलेम होगी, जैसे कि याहवेह ने कहा है, और तो और बचने वालों में वे लोग भी होंगे जिन्हें याहवेह बुलाएंगे.

And it will happen that everyone who will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. For on Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and in the remnant whom the Lord will call, there will be salvation, just as the Lord has said.
