अय्यूब 42
1 तब अय्योब ने याहवेह को यह उत्तर दिया:
Then Job answered and said to the Lord,
2 “मेरे प्रभु, मुझे मालूम है कि आप सभी कुछ कर सकते हैं; तथा आपकी किसी भी योजना विफल नहीं होती.
I know that you can do all things, and nothing is impossible with you.
3 आपने पूछा था, ‘कौन है वह अज्ञानी, जो मेरे ज्ञान पर आवरण डाल देता है?’ यही कारण है कि मैं स्वीकार कर रहा हूं, कि मुझे इन विषयों का कोई ज्ञान न था, मैं नहीं समझ सका, कि क्या-क्या हो रहा था, तथा जो कुछ हो रहा था, वह विस्मयकारी था.
For who is he that hides counsel from you? or who keeps back his words, and thinks to hide them from you? and who will tell me what I knew not, great and wonderful things which I understood not?
4 “आपने कहा था, ‘अब तुम चुप रहो; कि अब मैं संवाद कर सकूं, तब प्रश्न मैं करूंगा, कि तुम इनका उत्तर दो.’
But hear me, O Lord, that I also may speak: and I will ask you, and do you teach me.
5 इसके पूर्व आपका ज्ञान मेरे लिए मात्र समाचार ही था, किंतु अब आपको मेरी आंखें देख चुकी हैं.
I have heard the report of you by the ear before; but now mine eye has seen you.
6 इसलिये अब मैं स्वयं को घृणास्पद समझ रहा हूं, मैं इसके लिए धूल तथा भस्म में प्रायश्चित करता हूं.”
Therefore I have counted myself vile, and have fainted: and I esteem myself dust and ashes.
7 अय्योब से अपना आख्यान समाप्त करके याहवेह ने तेमानी एलिफाज़ से पूछा, “मैं तुमसे तथा तुम्हारे दोनों मित्रों से अप्रसन्न हूं, क्योंकि तुमने मेरे विषय में वह सब अभिव्यक्त नहीं किया, जो सही है, जैसा मेरे सेवक अय्योब ने प्रकट किया था.
And it came to pass after the Lord had spoken all these words to Job, [that] the Lord said to Eliphaz the Thaemanite, You have sinned, and your two friends: for you have not said anything true before me, as my servant Job [has].
8 तब अब तुम सात बछड़े तथा सात मेढ़े लो और मेरे सेवक अय्योब के पास जाकर अपने लिए होमबलि अर्पित करो तथा मेरा सेवक अय्योब तुम्हारे लिए प्रार्थना करेगा, क्योंकि मैं उसकी याचना स्वीकार कर लूंगा, कि तुम्हारी मूर्खता के अनुरूप व्यवहार न करूं, क्योंकि तुमने मेरे विषय में वह सब अभिव्यक्त नहीं किया, जो उपयुक्त था जैसा अय्योब ने किया था.”
Now then take seven bullocks, and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and he shall offer a burnt offering for you. And my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will only accept him: for but his sake, I would have destroyed you, for you have not spoken the truth against my servant Job.
9 तब तेमानी एलिफाज़ ने, शूही बिलदद ने तथा नआमथी ज़ोफर ने याहवेह के आदेश के अनुसार अनुपालन किया तथा याहवेह ने अय्योब की याचना स्वीकार कर ली.
So Eliphaz the Thaemanite, and Baldad the Sauchite, and Sophar the Minaean, went and did as the Lord commanded them: and he pardoned their sin for the sake of Job.
10 जब अय्योब अपने मित्रों के लिए प्रार्थना कर चुके, तब याहवेह ने अय्योब की संपत्ति को पूर्वावस्था में कर दिया तथा जो कुछ अय्योब का था, उसे दो गुणा कर दिया.
And the Lord prospered Job: and when he prayed also for his friends, he forgave them [their] sin: and the Lord gave Job twice as much, even the double of what he had before.
11 कालांतर उनके समस्त भाई बहनों तथा पूर्व परिचितों ने उनके घर पर आकर भोज में उनके साथ संगति की. उन्होंने उन पर याहवेह द्वारा समस्त विपत्तियों के संबंध में सहानुभूति एवं सांत्वना दी. उनमें से हर एक ने अय्योब को धनराशि एवं सोने के सिक्के भेंट में दिये.
And all his brethren and his sisters heard all that had happened to him, and they came to him, and [so did] all that had known him from the first: and they ate and drank with him, and comforted him, and wondered at all that the Lord had brought upon him: and each one gave him a lamb, and four drachmas' weight of gold, even of unstamped [gold].
12 याहवेह ने अय्योब के इन उत्तर वर्षों को उनके पूर्व वर्षों की अपेक्षा कहीं अधिक आशीषित किया. उनकी संपत्ति में अब चौदह हजार भेड़ें, छः हजार ऊंट, एक हजार जोड़े बैल तथा एक हजार गधियां हो गईं.
And the Lord blessed the latter end of Job, [more] than the beginning: and his cattle were fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, a thousand she-asses of the pastures.
13 उनके सात पुत्र एवं तीन पुत्रियां हुईं.
And there were born to him seven sons and three daughters.
14 पहली पुत्री का नाम उन्होंने यमीमाह, दूसरी का केज़ीआह, तीसरी का केरेन-हप्पूख रखा.
And he called the first Day, and the second Casia, and the third Amalthaea's horn.
15 समस्त देश में अय्योब की पुत्रियों समान सौंदर्य अन्यत्र नहीं थी. उनके पिता ने उन्हें उनके भाइयों के साथ ही मीरास दी.
And there were not found in comparison with the daughters of Job, fairer [women] than they in all the world: and their father gave them an inheritance among their brethren.
16 इसके बाद अय्योब एक सौ चालीस वर्ष और जीवित रहे. उन्होंने चार पीढ़ियों तक अपने पुत्र तथा पौत्र देखे.
And Job lived after [his] affliction a hundred and seventy years: and all the years he lived were two hundred and forty: and Job saw his sons and his sons' sons, the fourth generation.
17 वृद्ध अय्योब अपनी पूर्ण परिपक्व आयु में चले गये.
And Job died, an old man and full of days.
