अय्यूब 41
1 “क्या तुम लिवयाथान को मछली पकड़ने की अंकुड़ी से खींच सकोगे? अथवा क्या तुम उसकी जीभ को किसी डोर से बांध सको?
But will you catch the serpent with a hook, and put a halter about his nose?
2 क्या उसकी नाक में रस्सी बांधना तुम्हारे लिए संभव है, अथवा क्या तुम अंकुड़ी के लिए उसके जबड़े में छेद कर सकते हो?
Or will you fasten a ring in his nostril, and bore his lip with a clasp?
3 क्या वह तुमसे कृपा की याचना करेगा? क्या वह तुमसे शालीनतापूर्वक विनय करेगा?
Will he address you with a petition? softly, with the voice of a suppliant?
4 क्या वह तुमसे वाचा स्थापित करेगा? क्या तुम उसे जीवन भर अपना दास बनाने का प्रयास करोगे?
And will he make a covenant with you? and will you take him for a perpetual servant?
5 क्या तुम उसके साथ उसी रीति से खेल सकोगे जैसे किसी पक्षी से? अथवा उसे अपनी युवतियों के लिए बांधकर रख सकोगे?
And will you play with him as with a bird? or bind him as a sparrow for a child?
6 क्या व्यापारी उसके लिए विनिमय करना चाहेंगे? क्या व्यापारी अपने लिए परस्पर उसका विभाजन कर सकेंगे?
And do the nations feed upon him, and the nations of the Phoenicians share him?
7 क्या तुम उसकी खाल को बर्छी से बेध सकते हो अथवा उसके सिर को भाले से नष्ट कर सकते हो?
And all the ships come together would not be able to bear the mere skin of his tail; neither [shall they carry] his head in fishing vessels.
8 बस, एक ही बार उस पर अपना हाथ रखकर देखो, दूसरी बार तुम्हें यह करने का साहस न होगा. उसके साथ का संघर्ष तुम्हारे लिए अविस्मरणीय रहेगा.
But you shall lay your hand upon him [once], remembering the war that is waged by his mouth; and let it not be done any more.
9 व्यर्थ है तुम्हारी यह अपेक्षा, कि तुम उसे अपने अधिकार में कर लोगे; तुम तो उसके सामने आते ही गिर जाओगे.
Hast you not seen him? and have you not wondered at the things said [of him]?
10 कोई भी उसे उकसाने का ढाढस नहीं कर सकता. तब कौन करेगा उसका सामना?
Do you not fear because preparation has been made by me? for who is there that resists me?
11 उस पर आक्रमण करने के बाद कौन सुरक्षित रह सकता है? आकाश के नीचे की हर एक वस्तु मेरी ही है.
Or who will resist me, and abide, since the whole [world] under heaven is mine?
12 “उसके अंगों का वर्णन न करने के विषय में मैं चुप रहूंगा, न ही उसकी बड़ी शक्ति तथा उसके सुंदर देह का.
I will not be silent because of him: though because of his power [one] shall pity his antagonist.
13 कौन उसके बाह्य आवरण को उतार सकता है? कौन इसके लिए साहस करेगा कि उसमें बागडोर डाल सके?
Who will open the face of his garment? and who can enter within the fold of his breastplate?
14 कौन उसके मुख के द्वार खोलने में समर्थ होगा, जो उसके भयावह दांतों से घिरा है?
Who will open the doors of his face? terror is round about his teeth.
15 उसकी पीठ पर ढालें पंक्तिबद्ध रूप से बिछी हुई हैं और ये अत्यंत दृढतापूर्वक वहां लगी हुई हैं;
His inwards are as brazen plates, and the texture of his [skin] as a smyrite stone.
16 वे इस रीति से एक दूसरे से सटी हुई हैं, कि इनमें से वायु तक नहीं निकल सकती.
One [part] cleaves fast to another, and the air can’t come between them.
17 वे सभी एक दूसरे से जुड़ी हुई हैं उन्होंने एक दूसरे को ऐसा जकड़ रखा है; कि इन्हें तोड़ा नहीं जा सकता.
They will remain united each to the other: they are closely joined, and can’t be separated.
18 उसकी छींक तो आग की लपटें प्रक्षेपित कर देती है; तथा उसके नेत्र उषाकिरण समान दिखते हैं.
At his sneezing a light shines, and his eyes are [as] the appearance of the morning star.
19 उसके मुख से ज्वलंत मशालें प्रकट रहती; तथा इनके साथ चिंगारियां भी झड़ती रहती हैं.
Out of his mouth proceed as it were burning lamps, and as it were hearths of fire are cast abroad.
20 उसके नाक से धुआं उठता रहता है, मानो किसी उबलते पात्र से, जो जलते हुए सरकंडों के ऊपर रखा हुआ है.
Out of his nostrils proceeds smoke of a furnace burning with fire of coals.
21 उसकी श्वास कोयलों को प्रज्वलित कर देती, उसके मुख से अग्निशिखा निकलती रहती है.
His breath is [as] live coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.
22 उसके गर्दन में शक्ति का निवास है, तो उसके आगे-आगे निराशा बढ़ती जाती है.
And power is lodged in his neck, before him destruction runs.
23 उसकी मांसपेशियां उसकी देह पर अचल एवं दृढ़,
The flesh also of his body is joined together: [if one] pours [violence] upon him, he shall not be moved.
24 और उसका हृदय तो पत्थर समान कठोर है! हां! चक्की के निचले पाट के पत्थर समान!
His heart is firm as a stone, and it stands like an unyielding anvil.
25 जब-जब वह उठकर खड़ा होता है, शूरवीर भयभीत हो जाते हैं. उसके प्रहार के भय से वे पीछे हट जाते हैं.
And when he turns, [he is] a terror to the four-footed wild beasts which leap upon the earth.
26 उस पर जिस किसी तलवार से प्रहार किया जाता है, वह प्रभावहीन रह जाती है, वैसे ही उस पर बर्छी, भाले तथा बाण भी.
If spears should come against him, [men] will effect nothing, [either with] the spear or the breast-plate.
27 उसके सामने लौह भूसा समान होता है, तथा कांसा सड़ रहे लकड़ी के समान.
For he considers iron as chaff, and brass as rotten wood.
28 बाण का भय उसे भगा नहीं सकता. गोफन प्रक्षेपित पत्थर तो उसके सामने काटी उपज के ठूंठ प्रहार समान होता है.
The bow of brass shall not would him, he deems a slinger as grass.
29 लाठी का प्रहार भी ठूंठ के प्रहार समान होता है, वह तो बर्छी की ध्वनि सुन हंसने लगता है.
Mauls are counted as stubble; and he laughs to scorn the waving of the firebrand.
30 उसके पेट पर जो झुरिया हैं, वे मिट्टी के टूटे ठीकरे समान हैं. कीचड़ पर चलते हुए वह ऐसा लगता है, मानो वह अनाज कुटने का पट्टा समान चिन्ह छोड़ रहा है.
His lair is [formed of] sharp points; and all the gold of the sea under him is an immense [quantity of] clay.
31 उसके प्रभाव से महासागर जल, ऐसा दिखता है मानो हांड़ी में उफान आ गया हो. तब सागर ऐसा हो जाता, मानो वह मरहम का पात्र हो.
He makes the deep boil like a brazen caldron; and he regards the sea as a pot of ointment,
32 वह अपने पीछे एक चमकीली लकीर छोड़ता जाता है यह दृश्य ऐसा हो जाता है, मानो यह किसी वृद्ध का सिर है.
and the lowest part of the deep as a captive: he reckons the deep as [his] range.
33 पृथ्वी पर उसके जैसा कुछ भी नहीं है; एकमात्र निर्भीक रचना!
There is nothing upon the earth like to him, formed to be sported with by my angels.
34 उसके आंकलन में सर्वोच्च रचनाएं भी नगण्य हैं; वह समस्त अहंकारियों का राजा है.”
He beholds every high thing: and he is king of all that are in the waters.
