अय्यूब 35
1 एलिहू ने और कहा:
Then Elihu also said this:
2 “क्या आप यह न्याय समझते हैं? आप कहते हैं, ‘मेरा धर्म परमेश्वर के धर्म से ऊपर है?’
“[Job, ] do you think that what you said is right/correct? You say, ‘God knows that I am innocent,’
3 क्योंकि आप तो यही कहेंगे, ‘आप पर मेरे पाप का क्या प्रभाव पड़ता है, और पाप न करने के द्वारा मैंने क्या प्राप्त किया है?’
and you say [to God], ‘What good have I received for not sinning? What benefit have I received from that?’ [DOU, RHQ]
4 “इसका उत्तर आपको मैं दूंगा, आपको तथा आपके मित्रों को.
[Well, ] I will answer you, and I will answer your three friends, too.
5 आकाश की ओर दृष्टि उठाओ; मेघों का अवलोकन करो, वे तुमसे ऊपर हैं.
“[Job], look up at the sky; look at the clouds that are high above you and realize [that God is far above everything].
6 जब आप पाप कर बैठते हैं, इससे हानि परमेश्वर की कैसी होती है? यदि आपके अत्याचारों की संख्या अधिक हो जाती, क्या परमेश्वर पर इसका कोई प्रभाव होता है?
If you have sinned, that does not [RHQ] harm God at all. If many times you do things that are wrong, that certainly does not [RHQ] affect him [DOU].
7 यदि आप धर्मी हैं, आप परमेश्वर के लिए कौन सा उपकार कर देंगे, अथवा आपके इस कृत्य से आप उनके लिए कौन सा लाभ हासिल कर देंगे?
And if you are righteous, does that help God? No, he is not benefited by anything that you do [DOU].
8 आपकी दुष्चरित्रता आप जैसे व्यक्ति पर ही शोभा देती है, तथा आपकी धार्मिकता मानवता के लिए योग देती है.
It is other people who suffer because of the wicked things that you do, but by doing good things for people, you help them.
9 “अत्याचारों में वृद्धि होने पर मनुष्य कराहने लगते हैं; वे बुरे काम के लिए किसी शूर की खोज करते हैं.
“People cry out because of the many things that people do to others to (oppress them/treat them cruelly); they call for help because of the things that powerful people do [MTY] to them.
10 किंतु किसी का ध्यान इस ओर नहीं जाता ‘कहां हैं परमेश्वर, मेरा रचयिता, जो रात में गीत देते हैं,
But (no one/none of them) calls out [to God], saying ‘Why does God, my creator, [not help me]? He [should] enable me to sing [joyful] songs, [instead of very sad songs, ] during the night.
11 रचयिता परमेश्वर ही हैं, जिनकी शिक्षा हमें पशु पक्षियों से अधिक विद्वत्ता देती है, तथा हमें आकाश के पक्षियों से अधिक बुद्धिमान बना देती है.’
He [should be able to] teach us more than all the wild animals do; he [should] enable us to become wiser than [all] the birds are!’
12 वहां वे सहायता की पुकार देते हैं, किंतु परमेश्वर उनकी ओर ध्यान नहीं देते, क्योंकि वे दुर्जन अपने अहंकार में डूबे हुए रहते हैं.
People cry out [for help], but God does not answer them, because those who cry out are proud and evil people.
13 यह निर्विवाद सत्य है कि परमेश्वर निरर्थक पुकार को नहीं सुनते; सर्वशक्तिमान इस ओर ध्यान देना भी उपयुक्त नहीं समझते.
It is useless for them to cry out, because God, the Almighty One, does not pay any attention to what they say.
14 महोदय अय्योब, आप कह रहे थे, आप परमेश्वर को नहीं देख सकते, अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के समय की प्रतीक्षा करें. आपका पक्ष उनके सामने रखा जा चुका है.
So, when you complain that you cannot see God, and you tell him that you are waiting for him [to decide whether or not you should be punished for what you have done], God will not listen to you, either!
15 इसके अतिरिक्त, परमेश्वर क्रोध कर तुम्हें दण्ड नहीं देता, और न ही वह अभिमान की ओर ध्यान देते हैं,
Furthermore, [you say that] because he does not pay attention when people commit sins, he does not become angry and punish them.
16 महोदय अय्योब, इसलिये व्यर्थ है आपका इस प्रकार बातें करना; आप बिना किसी ज्ञान के अपने उद्गार पर उद्गार किए जा रहे हैं.”
You say things that are useless; you say a lot of things without knowing [what you are talking about].”
