अय्यूब 29
1 तब अपने वचन में अय्योब ने कहा:
Job also added to this, using figures of speech, and he said:
2 “उपयुक्त तो यह होता कि मैं उस स्थिति में जा पहुंचता जहां मैं कुछ माह पूर्व था, उन दिनों में, जब मुझ पर परमेश्वर की कृपा हुआ करती थी,
Who will grant to me that I might be as I was in former months, according to the days when God kept watch over me?
3 जब परमेश्वर के दीपक का प्रकाश मेरे सिर पर चमक रहा था. जब अंधकार में मैं उन्हीं के प्रकाश में आगे बढ़ रहा था!
At that time, his lamp shined over my head, and by his light, I walked through the darkness.
4 वे मेरी युवावस्था के दिन थे, उस समय मेरे घर पर परमेश्वर की कृपा थी,
I was then just as in the days of my youth, when God was privately in my tabernacle.
5 उस समय सर्वशक्तिमान मेरे साथ थे, मेरे संतान भी उस समय मेरे निकट थे.
At that time, the Almighty was with me and my children surrounded me.
6 उस समय तो स्थिति ऐसी थी, मानो मेरे पैर मक्खन से धोए जाते थे, तथा चट्टानें मेरे लिए तेल की धाराएं बहाया करती थीं.
Then, I washed my feet with butter, and a boulder poured out rivers of oil for me.
7 “तब मैं नगर के द्वार में चला जाया करता था, जहां मेरे लिए एक आसन हुआ करता था,
When I went to the gate of the city, or to the main street, they prepared a chair for me.
8 युवा सम्मान में मेरे सामने आने में हिचकते थे, तथा प्रौढ़ मेरे लिए सम्मान के साथ उठकर खड़े हो जाते थे;
The youths saw me and hid themselves, and the elders, rising up, remained standing.
9 यहां तक कि शासक अपना वार्तालाप रोक देते थे तथा मुख पर हाथ रख लेते थे;
The leaders stopped talking, and they placed a finder over their mouth.
10 प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्ति शांत स्वर में वार्तालाप करने लगते थे, उनकी तो जीभ ही तालू से लग जाती थी.
The commanders subdued their voice, and their tongue adhered to their throat.
11 मुझे ऐसे शब्द सुनने को मिलते थे ‘धन्य हैं वह,’ जब मेरी दृष्टि उन पर पड़ती थी, यह वे मेरे विषय में कह रहे होते थे.
The ear that heard me, blessed me, and the eye that saw me, gave testimony for me.
12 यह इसलिये, कि मैं उन दीनों की सहायता के लिए तत्पर रहता था, जो सहायता की दोहाई लगाते थे. तथा उन पितृहीनों की, जिनका सहायक कोई नहीं है.
This was because I had freed the poor, who cried out, and the orphan, who had no helper.
13 जो मरने पर था, उस व्यक्ति की समृद्धि मुझे दी गई है; जिसके कारण उस विधवा के हृदय से हर्षगान फूट पड़े थे.
The blessing of him who would have been destroyed came upon me, and I consoled the heart of the widow.
14 मैंने युक्तता धारण कर ली, इसने मुझे ढक लिया; मेरा न्याय का काम बाह्य वस्त्र तथा पगड़ी के समान था.
I put on justice, and I clothed myself with my judgment, like a robe and a diadem.
15 मैं दृष्टिहीनों के लिए दृष्टि हो गया तथा अपंगों के लिए पैर.
I was an eye for the blind and a foot for the lame.
16 दरिद्रों के लिए मैं पिता हो गया; मैंने अपरिचितों के न्याय के लिए जांच पड़ताल की थी.
I was the father of the poor; and if I lacked knowledge about any case, I investigated very diligently.
17 मैंने दुष्टों के जबड़े तोड़े तथा उन्हें जा छुड़ाया, जो नष्ट होने पर ही थे.
I crushed the jaws of the impious, and I took away prey from his teeth.
18 “तब मैंने यह विचार किया, ‘मेरी मृत्यु मेरे घर में ही होगी तथा मैं अपने जीवन के दिनों को बालू के समान त्याग दूंगा.
And I said, “I will die in my little nest, and like a palm tree, I will multiply my days.
19 मेरी जड़ें जल तक पहुंची हुई हैं सारी रात्रि मेरी शाखाओं पर ओस छाई रहती है.
My root has been spread beside the waters, and the dew will remain with my harvest.
20 सभी की ओर से मुझे प्रशंसा प्राप्त होती रही है, मेरी शक्ति, मेरा धनुष, मेरे हाथ में सदा बना रहेगा.
My glory will always be restored, and my bow will be restored to my hand.”
21 “वे लोग मेरे परामर्श को सुना करते थे, मेरी प्रतीक्षा करते रहते थे, इस रीति से वे मेरे परामर्श को शांति से स्वीकार भी करते थे.
Those who heard me, expected vindication, and they listened closely in silence to my counsel.
22 मेरे वक्तव्य के बाद वे प्रतिक्रिया का साहस नहीं करते थे; मेरी बातें वे ग्रहण कर लेते थे.
To my words, they dared to add nothing, and my eloquence poured over them.
23 वे मेरे लिए वैसे ही प्रतीक्षा करते थे, जैसे वृष्टि की, उनके मुख वैसे ही खुले रह जाते थे, मानो यह वसन्त ऋतु की वृष्टि है.
They waited for me as for rain, and they opened their mouth as for belated rains.
24 वे मुश्किल से विश्वास करते थे, जब मैं उन पर मुस्कुराता था; मेरे चेहरे का प्रकाश उनके लिए कीमती था.
If I had ever laughed at them, they would not have believed it, and the light of my face was not cast down towards the ground.
25 उनका प्रधान होने के कारण मैं उन्हें उपयुक्त हल सुझाता था; सेना की टुकड़ियों के लिए मैं रणनीति प्रस्तुत करता था; मैं ही उन्हें जो दुःखी थे सांत्वना प्रदान करता था.
If I wished to go to them, I sat down first, and, though I sat like a king surrounded by an army, yet I was a comforter to those who mourned.
