अय्यूब 19
1 तब अय्योब ने उत्तर दिया:
Then Job answered and said,
2 “तुम कब तक मुझे यातना देते रहोगे तथा अपने इन शब्दों से कुचलते रहोगे?
How long will you vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
3 इन दसों अवसरों पर तुम मेरा अपमान करते रहे हो; मेरे साथ अन्याय करते हुए तुम्हें लज्जा तक न आई.
These ten times have you reproached me: you are not ashamed that you make yourselves strange to me.
4 हां, यदि वास्तव में मुझसे कोई त्रुटि हुई है, तो यह त्रुटि मेरे लिए चिंता का विषय है.
And be it indeed that I have erred, my error remains with myself.
5 यदि तुम वास्तव में स्वयं को मुझसे उच्चतर प्रदर्शित करोगे तथा मुझ पर मेरी स्थिति को निंदनीय प्रमाणित कर दोगे,
If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
6 तब मैं यह समझ लूंगा, कि मेरी यह स्थिति परमेश्वर की ओर से है तथा उन्हीं ने मुझे इस जाल में डाला है.
Know now that God has overthrown me, and has compassed me with his net.
7 “मैं तो चिल्ला रहा हूं, ‘अन्याय!’ किंतु मुझे कोई उत्तर नहीं मिल रहा; मैं सहायता के लिए पुकार रहा हूं, किंतु न्याय कहीं से मिल नहीं रहा है.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
8 परमेश्वर ने ही जब मेरे मार्ग रोक दिया है, मैं आगे कैसे बढ़ूं? उन्होंने तो मेरे मार्ग अंधकार कर दिए हैं.
He has fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness in my paths.
9 मेरा सम्मान मुझसे छीन लिया गया है, तथा जो मुकुट मेरे सिर पर था, वह भी उतार लिया गया है.
He has stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 वह मुझे चारों ओर से तोड़ने में शामिल हैं, कि मैं नष्ट हो जाऊं; उन्होंने मेरी आशा को उखाड़ दिया है, जैसे किसी वृक्ष से किया जाता है.
He has destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and my hope has he removed like a tree.
11 अपना कोप भी उन्होंने मुझ पर उंडेल दिया है; क्योंकि उन्होंने तो मुझे अपना शत्रु मान लिया है.
He has also kindled his wrath against me, and he counts me to him as one of his enemies.
12 उनकी सेना एकत्र हो रही है; उन्होंने मेरे विरुद्ध ढलान तैयार की है तथा मेरे तंबू के आस-पास घेराबंदी कर ली है.
His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.
13 “उन्होंने तो मेरे भाइयों को मुझसे दूर कर दिया है; मेरे परिचित मुझसे पूर्णतः अनजान हो गए हैं.
He has put my brothers far from me, and my acquaintance are truly estranged from me.
14 मेरे संबंधियों ने तो मेरा त्याग कर दिया है; मेरे परम मित्रों ने मुझे याद करना छोड़ दिया है.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
15 वे, जो मेरी गृहस्थी के अंग हैं तथा जो मेरी परिचारिकाएं हैं; वे सब मुझे परदेशी समझने लगी हैं.
They that dwell in my house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
16 मैं अपने सेवक को अपने निकट बुलाता हूं, किंतु वह उत्तर नहीं देता.
I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I entreated him with my mouth.
17 मेरी पत्नी के लिए अब मेरा श्वास घृणास्पद हो गया है; अपने भाइयों के लिए मैं घिनौना हो गया हूं.
My breath is strange to my wife, though I entreated for the children’s sake of my own body.
18 यहां तक कि छोटे-छोटे बालक मुझे तुच्छ समझने लगे हैं; जैसे ही मैं उठता हूं, वे मेरी निंदा करते हैं.
Yes, young children despised me; I arose, and they spoke against me.
19 मेरे सभी सहयोगी मेरे विद्वेषी हो गए हैं; मुझे जिन-जिन से प्रेम था, वे अब मेरे विरुद्ध हो चुके हैं.
All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
20 अब तो मैं मात्र चमड़ी तथा हड्डियों का रह गया हूं; मैं जो हूं, मृत्यु से बाल-बाल बच निकला हूं.
My bone sticks to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
21 “मेरे मित्रों, मुझ पर कृपा करो, क्योंकि मुझ पर तो परमेश्वर का प्रहार हुआ है.
Have pity on me, have pity on me, O you my friends; for the hand of God has touched me.
22 किंतु परमेश्वर के समान तुम मुझे क्यों सता रहे हो? क्या मेरी देह को यातना देकर तुम्हें संतोष नहीं हुआ है?
Why do you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 “कैसा होता यदि मेरे इन विचारों को लिखा जाता, इन्हें पुस्तक का रूप दिया जा सकता,
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
24 सीसे के पटल पर लौह लेखनी से उन्हें चट्टान पर स्थायी रूप से खोद दिया जाता!
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
25 परंतु मुझे यह मालूम है कि मेरा छुड़ाने वाला जीवित हैं, तथा अंततः वह पृथ्वी पर खड़ा रहेंगे.
For I know that my redeemer lives, and that he shall stand at the latter day on the earth:
26 मेरी देह के नष्ट हो जाने के बाद भी, मैं अपनी देह में ही परमेश्वर का दर्शन करूंगा;
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
27 जिन्हें मैं अपनी ही आंखों से देखूंगा, उन्हें अन्य किसी के नहीं, बल्कि मेरे ही नेत्र देखेंगे. मेरा मन अंदर ही अंदर उतावला हुआ जा रहा है!
Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
28 “अब यदि तुम यह विचार करने लगो, ‘हम उसे कैसे सता सकेंगे?’ अथवा, ‘उस पर हम कौन सा आरोप लगा सकेंगे?’
But you should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
29 तब उपयुक्त यह होगा कि तुम अपने ऊपर तलवार के प्रहार का ध्यान रखो; क्योंकि क्रोध का दंड तलवार से होता है, तब तुम्हें यह बोध होना अनिवार्य है, कि एक न्याय का समय है.”
Be you afraid of the sword: for wrath brings the punishments of the sword, that you may know there is a judgment.
