अय्यूब 15

1 इसके बाद तेमानी एलिफाज़ के उद्गार ये थे:

Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and saide,

2 “क्या किसी बुद्धिमान के उद्गार खोखले विचार हो सकते हैं तथा क्या वह पूर्वी पवन से अपना पेट भर सकता है?

Shal a wise man speake words of ye winde, and fill his bellie with the East winde?

3 क्या वह निरर्थक सत्यों के आधार पर विचार कर सकता है? वह उन शब्दों का प्रयोग कर सकता है? जिनका कोई लाभ नहीं बनता?

Shall he dispute with wordes not comely? or with talke that is not profitable?

4 तुमने तो परमेश्वर के सम्मान को ही त्याग दिया है, तथा तुमने परमेश्वर की श्रद्धा में विघ्न डाले.

Surely thou hast cast off feare, and restrainest prayer before God.

5 तुम्हारा पाप ही तुम्हारे शब्दों की प्रेरणा है, तथा तुमने धूर्तों के शब्दों का प्रयोग किये हैं.

For thy mouth declareth thine iniquitie, seeing thou hast chosen ye tongue of the crafty.

6 ये तो तुम्हारा मुंह ही है, जो तुझे दोषी ठहरा रहा है, मैं नहीं; तुम्हारे ही शब्द तुम पर आरोप लगा रहे हैं.

Thine owne mouth condemneth thee, and not I, and thy lippes testifie against thee.

7 “क्या समस्त मानव जाति में तुम सर्वप्रथम जन्मे हो? अथवा क्या पर्वतों के अस्तित्व में आने के पूर्व तुम्हारा पालन पोषण हुआ था?

Art thou the first man, that was borne? and wast thou made before the hils?

8 क्या तुम्हें परमेश्वर की गुप्‍त अभिलाषा सुनाई दे रही है? क्या तुम ज्ञान को स्वयं तक सीमित रखे हुए हो?

Hast thou heard the secret counsell of God, and doest thou restraine wisedome to thee?

9 तुम्हें ऐसा क्या मालूम है, जो हमें मालूम नहीं है? तुमने वह क्या समझ लिया है, जो हम समझ न पाए हैं?

What knowest thou that we knowe not? and vnderstandest that is not in vs?

10 हमारे मध्य सफेद बाल के वृद्ध विद्यमान हैं, ये तुम्हारे पिता से अधिक आयु के भी हैं.

With vs are both auncient and very aged men, farre older then thy father.

11 क्या परमेश्वर से मिली सांत्वना तुम्हारी दृष्टि में पर्याप्‍त है, वे शब्द भी जो तुमसे सौम्यतापूर्वक से कहे गए हैं?

Seeme the consolations of God small vnto thee? is this thing strange vnto thee?

12 क्यों तुम्हारा हृदय उदासीन हो गया है? क्यों तुम्हारे नेत्र क्रोध में चमक रहे हैं?

Why doeth thine heart take thee away, and what doe thine eyes meane,

13 कि तुम्हारा हृदय परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध हो गया है, तथा तुम अब ऐसे शब्द व्यर्थ रूप से उच्चार रहे हो?

That thou answerest to God at thy pleasure, and bringest such wordes out of thy mouth?

14 “मनुष्य है ही क्या, जो उसे शुद्ध रखा जाए अथवा वह, जो स्त्री से पैदा हुआ, निर्दोष हो?

What is man, that he should be cleane? and he that is borne of woman, that he shoulde be iust?

15 ध्यान दो, यदि परमेश्वर अपने पवित्र लोगों पर भी विश्वास नहीं करते, तथा स्वर्ग उनकी दृष्टि में शुद्ध नहीं है.

Beholde, he founde no stedfastnesse in his Saintes: yea, the heauens are not cleane in his sight.

16 तब मनुष्य कितना निकृष्ट होगा, जो घृणित तथा भ्रष्‍ट है, जो पाप को जल समान पिया करता है!

How much more is man abominable, and filthie, which drinketh iniquitie like water?

17 “यह मैं तुम्हें समझाऊंगा मेरी सुनो जो कुछ मैंने देखा है; मैं उसी की घोषणा करूंगा,

I will tell thee: heare me, and I will declare that which I haue seene:

18 जो कुछ बुद्धिमानों ने बताया है, जिसे उन्होंने अपने पूर्वजों से भी गुप्‍त नहीं रखा है.

Which wise men haue tolde, as they haue heard of their fathers, and haue not kept it secret:

19 (जिन्हें मात्र यह देश प्रदान किया गया था तथा उनके मध्य कोई भी विदेशी न था):

To whome alone the land was giuen and no stranger passed through them.

20 दुर्वृत्त अपने समस्त जीवनकाल में पीड़ा से तड़पता रहता है. तथा बलात्कारी के लिए समस्त वर्ष सीमित रख दिए गए हैं.

The wicked man is continually as one that traueileth of childe, and the nomber of yeeres is hid from the tyrant.

21 उसके कानों में आतंक संबंधी ध्वनियां गूंजती रहती हैं; जबकि शान्तिकाल में विनाश उस पर टूट पड़ता है.

A sounde of feare is in his eares, and in his prosperitie the destroyer shall come vpon him.

22 उसे यह विश्वास नहीं है कि उसका अंधकार से निकास संभव है; कि उसकी नियति तलवार संहार है.

He beleeueth not to returne out of darknesse: for he seeth the sworde before him.

23 वह भोजन की खोज में इधर-उधर भटकता रहता है, यह मालूम करते हुए, ‘कहीं कुछ खाने योग्य वस्तु है?’ उसे यह मालूम है कि अंधकार का दिवस पास है.

He wandreth to and from for bread where he may: he knoweth that the day of darkenesse is prepared at hande.

24 वेदना तथा चिंता ने उसे भयभीत कर रखा है; एक आक्रामक राजा समान उन्होंने उसे वश में कर रखा है,

Affliction and anguish shall make him afraide: they shall preuaile against him as a King readie to the battell.

25 क्योंकि उसने परमेश्वर की ओर हाथ बढ़ाने का ढाढस किया है तथा वह सर्वशक्तिमान के सामने अहंकार का प्रयास करता है.

For he hath stretched out his hand against GOD, and made him selfe strong against the Almightie.

26 वह परमेश्वर की ओर सीधे दौड़ पड़ा है, उसने मजबूत ढाल ले रखी है.

Therefore God shall runne vpon him, euen vpon his necke, and against the most thicke part of his shielde.

27 “क्योंकि उसने अपना चेहरा अपनी वसा में छिपा लिया है तथा अपनी जांघ चर्बी से भरपूर कर ली है.

Because he hath couered his face with his fatnesse, and hath colloppes in his flancke.

28 वह तो उजाड़ नगरों में निवास करता रहा है, ऐसे घरों में जहां कोई भी रहना नहीं चाहता था, जिनकी नियति ही है खंडहर हो जाने के लिए.

Though he dwell in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, but are become heapes,

29 न तो वह धनी हो जाएगा, न ही उसकी संपत्ति दीर्घ काल तक उसके अधिकार में रहेगी, उसकी उपज बढ़ेगी नहीं.

He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof in the earth.

30 उसे अंधकार से मुक्ति प्राप्‍त न होगी; ज्वाला उसके अंकुरों को झुलसा देगी, तथा परमेश्वर के श्वास से वह दूर उड़ जाएगा.

He shall neuer depart out of darkenesse: the flame shall drie vp his branches, and he shall goe away with the breath of his mouth.

31 उत्तम हो कि वह व्यर्थ बातों पर आश्रित न रहे, वह स्वयं को छल में न रखे, क्योंकि उसका प्रतिफल धोखा ही होगा.

He beleeueth not that he erreth in vanitie: therefore vanitie shalbe his change.

32 समय के पूर्व ही उसे इसका प्रतिफल प्राप्‍त हो जाएगा, उसकी शाखाएं हरी नहीं रह जाएंगी.

His branch shall not be greene, but shall be cut off before his day.

33 उसका विनाश वैसा ही होगा, जैसा कच्चे द्राक्षों की लता कुचल दी जाती है, जैसे जैतून वृक्ष से पुष्पों का झड़ना होता है.

God shall destroy him as the vine her sower grape, and shall cast him off, as the oliue doeth her flowre.

34 क्योंकि दुर्वृत्तों की सभा खाली होती है, भ्रष्‍ट लोगों के तंबू को अग्नि चट कर जाती है.

For the congregation of the hypocrite shalbe desolate, and fire shall deuoure the houses of bribes.

35 उनके विचारों में विपत्ति गर्भधारण करती है तथा वे पाप को जन्म देते हैं; उनका अंतःकरण छल की योजना गढ़ता रहता है.”

For they conceiue mischiefe and bring foorth vanitie, and their bellie hath prepared deceite.
