अय्यूब 10
1 “अपने जीवन से मुझे घृणा है; मैं खुलकर अपनी शिकायत प्रस्तुत करूंगा. मेरे शब्दों का मूल है मेरी आत्मा की कड़वाहट.
I am weary of my life; I will let loose within me my complaint; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.
2 परमेश्वर से मेरा आग्रह है: मुझ पर दोषारोपण न कीजिए, मुझ पर यह प्रकट कर दीजिए, कि मेरे साथ अमरता का मूल क्या है.
I will say unto God, Do not condemn me! Show me wherefore thou contendest with me!
3 क्या आपके लिए यह उपयुक्त है कि आप अत्याचार करें, कि आप अपनी ही कृति को त्याग दें, तथा दुर्वृत्तों की योजना को समर्थन दें?
Is it a pleasure to thee to oppress, And to despise the work of thy hands, And to shine upon the plans of the wicked?
4 क्या आपके नेत्र मनुष्यों के नेत्र-समान हैं? क्या आपका देखना मनुष्यों-समान होता है?
Hast thou eyes of flesh, Or seest thou as man seeth?
5 क्या आपका जीवनकाल मनुष्यों-समान है, अथवा आपके जीवन के वर्ष मनुष्यों-समान हैं,
Are thy days as the days of a man, Are thy years as the days of a mortal,
6 कि आप मुझमें दोष खोज रहे हैं, कि आप मेरे पाप की छानबीन कर रहे हैं?
That thou seekest after my iniquity, And searchest after my sin,
7 आपके ज्ञान के अनुसार सत्य यही है मैं दोषी नहीं हूं, फिर भी आपकी ओर से मेरे लिए कोई भी मुक्ति नहीं है.
Though thou knowest that I am not guilty, And that none can deliver from thy hand?
8 “मेरी संपूर्ण संरचना आपकी ही कृति है, क्या आप मुझे नष्ट कर देंगे?
Have thy hands completely fashioned and made me In every part, that thou mightst destroy me?
9 स्मरण कीजिए, मेरी रचना आपने मिट्टी से की है. क्या आप फिर मुझे मिट्टी में शामिल कर देंगे?
O remember that thou hast moulded me as clay! And wilt thou bring me again to dust?
10 आपने क्या मुझे दूध के समान नहीं उंडेला तथा दही-समान नहीं जमा दिया था?
Thou didst pour me out as milk, And curdle me as cheese;
11 क्या आपने मुझे मांस तथा खाल का आवरण नहीं पहनाया तथा मुझे हड्डियों तथा मांसपेशियों से बुना था?
With skin and flesh didst thou clothe me, And strengthen me with bones and sinews;
12 आपने मुझे जीवन एवं करुणा-प्रेम का अनुदान दिया तथा आपकी कृपा में मेरी आत्मा सुरक्षित रही है.
Thou didst grant me life and favor, And thy protection preserved my breath:
13 “फिर भी ये सत्य आपने अपने हृदय में गोपनीय रख लिए, मुझे यह मालूम है कि यह आप में सुरक्षित है:
Yet these things thou didst lay up in thy heart! I know that this was in thy mind.
14 यदि मैं कोई पाप कर बैठूं तो आपका ध्यान मेरी ओर जाएगा. तब आप मुझे निर्दोष न छोड़ेंगे.
If I sin, then thou markest me, And wilt not acquit me of mine iniquity.
15 धिक्कार है मुझ पर—यदि मैं दोषी हूं! और यद्यपि मैं बेकसूर हूं, मुझमें सिर ऊंचा करने का साहस नहीं है. मैं तो लज्जा से भरा हुआ हूं, क्योंकि मुझे मेरी दयनीय दुर्दशा का बोध है.
If I am wicked, —then woe unto me! Yet if righteous, I dare not lift up my head; I am full of confusion, beholding my affliction.
16 यदि मैं अपना सिर ऊंचा कर लूं, तो आप मेरा पीछा ऐसे करेंगे, जैसे सिंह अपने आहार का पीछा करता है; एक बार फिर आप मुझ पर अपनी शक्ति का प्रदर्शन करेंगे.
If I lift it up, like a lion thou huntest me, And again showest thyself terrible unto me.
17 आप मेरे विरुद्ध नए-नए साक्षी लेकर आते हैं तथा मेरे विरुद्ध अपने कोप की वृद्धि करते हैं; मुझ पर तो कष्टों पर कष्ट चले आ रहे हैं.
Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, And increasest thine anger toward me; New hosts continually rise up against me.
18 “तब आपने मुझे गर्भ से बाहर क्यों आने दिया? उत्तम तो यही होता कि वहीं मेरी मृत्यु हो जाती कि मुझ पर किसी की दृष्टि न पड़ती.
Why then didst thou bring me forth from the womb? I should have perished, and no eye had seen me;
19 मुझे तो ऐसा हो जाना था, मानो मैं हुआ ही नहीं; या सीधे गर्भ से कब्र में!
I should be as though I had not been; I should have been borne from the womb to the grave.
20 क्या परमेश्वर मुझे मेरे इन थोड़े से दिनों में शांति से रहने न देंगे? आप अपना यह स्थान छोड़ दीजिए, कि मैं कुछ देर के लिए आनंदित रह सकूं.
Are not my days few? O spare then, And let me alone, that I may be at ease a little while,
21 इसके पूर्व कि मैं वहां के लिए उड़ जाऊं, जहां से कोई लौटकर नहीं आता, उस अंधकार तथा मृत्यु के स्थान को,
Before I go— whence I shall not return—To the land of darkness and death-shade,
22 उस घोर अंधकार के स्थान को, जहां कुछ गड़बड़ी नहीं है, उस स्थान में अंधकार भी प्रकाश समान है.”
The land of darkness like the blackness of death-shade, Where is no order, and where the light is as darkness.
