यिर्मयाह 29

1 नबूकदनेज्ज़र द्वारा येरूशलेम से बाबेल बंदी उत्तरजीवी प्राचीनों, पुरोहितों, भविष्यवक्ताओं तथा सारे लोगों को संबोधित येरेमियाह द्वारा लिखित पत्र की विषय-वस्तु यह है.

These are the words in the scroll that Jeremiah the prophet sent out from Jerusalem to the remaining elders among the captives and to the priests, prophets, and all the people that Nebuchadnezzar exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon.

2 (यह उस समय का उल्लेख है जब राजा यकोनियाह, राजमाता, सांसद तथा यहूदिया तथा येरूशलेम के प्रशासक, कुशल मजदूर और शिल्पकार येरूशलेम से पलायन कर चुके थे.)

This was after Jehoiachin the king, the queen mother, and the high officials, the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, and the craftsmen had been sent away from Jerusalem.

3 यह पत्र शापान के पुत्र एलासाह तथा हिलकियाह के पुत्र गेमारियाह के हाथों में सौंप दिया गया, कि यह पत्र यहूदिया के राजा सीदकियाहू ने बाबेल के राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र को इन शब्दों में संबोधित करते हुए बाबेल में भेजा:

He sent this scroll by the hand of Elasah son of Shapan and Gemariah son of Hilkiah whom Zedekiah, king of Judah, had sent to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

4 सभी बंदियों के लिए, जिन्हें मैंने येरूशलेम से बाबेल में बंधुआई में भेजा है, सेनाओं के याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर का संदेश यह है:

The scroll said, “Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, says this to all the captives whom I caused to be exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon,

5 “आवासों का निर्माण करो तथा उनमें निवास करो; वाटिकाएं रोपित करो तथा उनके उत्पाद का उपभोग करो.

'Build houses and live in them. Plant gardens and eat their fruit.

6 विवाह करो और पुत्र-पुत्रियों के जनक हो जाओ; तब अपने पुत्रों के लिए पत्नियां ले आओ तथा अपनी पुत्रियों का विवाह कर उन्हें विदा करो, कि वे संतान पैदा करें-उनका बढ़ना ही होता रहे, कमी नहीं.

Take wives and give birth to sons and daughters. Then take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands. Let them give birth to sons and daughters and increase there so you do not become too few.

7 जिस नगर में मैंने तुम्हें बंदी बनाकर रखा है, तुम उस नगर के हित का यत्न करते रहना. उसकी ओर से तुम याहवेह से बिनती भी करते रहना, क्योंकि उस नगर की समृद्धि में ही तुम्हारा हित निहित होगा.”

Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be exiled, and intercede with me on its behalf since there will be peace for you if it is at peace.'

8 क्योंकि इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, सेनाओं के याहवेह का आदेश यह है: “सावधान रहना कि तुम अपने मध्य विद्यमान भविष्यवक्ताओं तथा पूर्वघोषकों के धोखे में न आ जाओ. वे अपने जिन स्वप्नों का उल्लेख करते हैं, उनकी ओर भी ध्यान न देना.

For Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, says this, 'Do not let your prophets who are in your midst and your diviners deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that you yourselves are having.

9 क्योंकि वे मेरे नाम में तुमसे झूठी भविष्यवाणी कर रहे होंगे. वे मेरे द्वारा भेजे गये बर्तन नहीं हैं,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.

For they are prophesying deceitfully to you in my name. I did not send them—this is Yahweh's declaration.'

10 क्योंकि याहवेह की वाणी यह है: “जब बाबेल के सत्तर वर्ष पूरे हो जायेंगे, तब मैं तुम्हारी ओर आकर तुमसे की गई बात, तुम्हें इसी स्थान पर लौटा ले आने की वह रुचिर प्रतिज्ञा पूर्ण करूंगा.

For Yahweh says this, 'When Babylon has ruled you for seventy years, I will help you and carry out my good word for you to bring you back to this place.

11 इसलिये कि मेरे द्वारा तुम्हारे लिए योजित अभिप्राय स्पष्ट हैं,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है, “तुम्हें एक प्रत्याशित भविष्य प्रदान करने के निमित, मैंने समृद्धि की योजना का विन्यास किया है, संकट का नहीं.

For I myself know the plans that I have for you—this is Yahweh's declaration—plans for peace and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

12 उस समय तुम मेरी ओर उन्मुख होकर मुझे पुकारोगे, मुझसे बिनती करोगे और मैं तुम्हारी सुनूंगा.

Then you will call to me, and go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

13 तुम मेरी खोज करोगे और मुझे प्राप्‍त कर लोगे, जब तुम अपने संपूर्ण हृदय से मेरी खोज करोगे.

For you will seek me and find me, since you will seek me with all your heart.

14 यह याहवेह की वाणी है, मैं तुम्हें उपलब्ध हो जाऊंगा, मैं तुम्हारे ऐश्वर्य को लौटाकर दूंगा तथा तुम्हें उन सभी राष्ट्रों तथा स्थानों से एकत्र करूंगा, जहां मैंने तुम्हें बंदी कर दिया है,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है, “तब मैं तुम्हें उसी स्थान पर लौटा ले आऊंगा, जहां से मैंने तुम्हें बंधुआई में भेज दिया था.”

Then I will be found by you—this is Yahweh's declaration—and I will bring back your fortunes; I will gather you from all the nations and places where I scattered you—this is Yahweh's declaration—for I will bring you back to the place from where I caused you to be exiled.'

15 इसलिये कि तुम्हारा यह दावा है, “बाबेल में हमारे निमित्त भविष्यवक्ताओं का उद्भव याहवेह द्वारा किया गया है,”

Since you said that Yahweh has raised up prophets for us in Babylon,

16 यह याहवेह का संदेश है, उस राजा के विषय में जो दावीद के सिंहासन पर विराजमान होता है तथा उन लोगों के विषय में, जो इस नगर में निवास कर रहे हैं, जो सहनागरिक तुम्हारे साथ बंधुआई में नहीं गए हैं—

Yahweh says this to the king who sits on the throne of David and to all the people who are staying in that city, your brothers who have not gone out with you into captivity—

17 सेनाओं के याहवेह की यह वाणी है: “यह देख लेना मैं उन पर तलवार का प्रहार करवाऊंगा, अकाल तथा महामारी भेजूंगा. मैं उनका स्वरूप ऐसे फटे हुए अंजीरों के सदृश बना दूंगा, जो सड़न के कारण सेवन के योग्य ही नहीं रह गए हैं.

Yahweh of hosts says this, 'See, I am about to send sword, famine, and disease on them. For I will make them like rotten figs that are too bad to be eaten.

18 मैं तलवार, अकाल तथा महामारी लेकर उनका पीछा करूंगा. मैं उन्हें पृथ्वी के सारे राज्यों के समक्ष भयावह बना दूंगा, कि वे उन राष्ट्रों के मध्य शाप, भय तथा उपहास का विषय बनकर रह जाएं, जहां मैंने उन्हें दूर किया है.

Then I will pursue them with sword, famine, and plague and make them a horrible sight to all the kingdoms on earth—a horror, an object of curses and hissing, and a shameful thing among all the nations where I scattered her.

19 क्योंकि उन्होंने मेरे आदेशों की ओर ध्यान नहीं दिया है,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है, “जो मैं अपने सेवकों, भविष्यवक्ताओं के द्वारा बार-बार भेज रहा हूं. किंतु तुमने उनकी सुनी ही नहीं,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.

This is because they did not listen to my word—this is Yahweh's declaration—that I sent out to them through my servants the prophets. I repeatedly sent them, but you would not listen—this is Yahweh's declaration.'

20 इसलिये तुम याहवेह का आदेश सुनो, तुम सभी बंदियों, जिन्हें मैंने येरूशलेम से बाबेल बंदी किया है.

So you yourselves listen to the word of Yahweh, all you exiles whom he has sent out from Jerusalem to Babylon,

21 यह इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, सेनाओं के याहवेह की कोलाइयाह के पुत्र अहाब तथा मआसेइयाह के पुत्र सीदकियाहू के विषय में, जो मेरे नाम में झूठी भविष्यवाणी कर रहे हैं यह वाणी है: “यह देखना कि मैं उन्हें बाबेल के राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र के हाथों में सौंप दूंगा, जो तुम्हारे देखते-देखते उनका वध कर देगा.

'Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, says this about Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who prophesy falsely to you in my name: See, I am about to put them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. He will kill them before your eyes.

22 उनके कारण उन सभी बंदी द्वारा, जिन्हें यहूदिया से बाबेल ले जाया गया है, इस प्रकार शाप दिया जाएगा: ‘याहवेह तुम्हें सीदकियाहू तथा अहाब सदृश बना दें, जिन्हें बाबेल के राजा ने अग्नि में झोंक दिया था.’

Then a curse will be spoken about these persons by all the captives of Judah in Babylon. The curse will say: May Yahweh make you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in fire.

23 इस्राएल में उन्होंने जो किया है, वह मूर्खतापूर्ण था; उन्होंने अपने पड़ोसियों की पत्नियों के साथ व्यभिचार किया, उन्होंने मेरे नाम में झूठे वचन दिए हैं, जिनके विषय में मेरी ओर से कोई आदेश नहीं दिया गया था. मैं वह हूं, जिसे संज्ञान है, मैं प्रत्यक्षदर्शी हूं,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.

This will happen because of the shameful things they did in Israel when they committed adultery with their neighbor's wives and declared false words in my name, things that I never commanded them to say. For I am the one who knows; I am the witness—this is Yahweh's declaration.'”

24 नेहेलामी शेमायाह से तुम्हें कहना होगा,

“About Shemaiah the Nehelamite, say this:

25 “इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, सेनाओं के याहवेह की वाणी यह है: इसलिये कि तुमने स्वयं अपने ही नाम में येरूशलेम में निवास कर रहे लोगों को, मआसेइयाह के पुत्र पुरोहित ज़ेफनियाह को तथा अन्य सभी पुरोहितों को पत्र प्रगट किए हैं, जिनमें यह लिखा गया था,

'Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, says this: Because you sent out letters in your own name to all the people in Jerusalem, to Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, and said,

26 ‘याहवेह ने आपको पुरोहित यहोइयादा के स्थान पर पुरोहित नियुक्त किया है, कि आप याहवेह के भवन में भविष्यवाणी कर रहे हर एक विक्षिप्‍त व्यक्ति पर पर्यवेक्षक हो जाएं; कि उसे बेड़ी में तथा उसके गले को लौह गली में जकड़ दिया जाए.

“Yahweh has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, for you to be in charge of Yahweh's house. You are in control of all the people who rave and make themselves into prophets. You should put them in stocks and chains.

27 इसलिये आपने अनाथोथवासी येरेमियाह को फटकार क्यों नहीं लगाई, जो आपके समक्ष भविष्यवाणी करता रहता है?

So now, why have you not rebuked Jeremiah of Anathoth, who makes himself into a prophet against you?

28 क्योंकि उसी ने तो हमें बाबेल में यह संदेश भेजा किया था: दीर्घकालीन होगी यह बंधुआई; अपने लिए आवास निर्मित करो और उनमें निवास करो, वाटिकाएं रोपित करो तथा उनके उत्पाद का उपभोग करो.’”

For he has sent to us in Babylon and said, 'It will be a long time. Build houses and live in them, and plant gardens and eat their fruit.”'”

29 पुरोहित ज़ेफनियाह ने यह पत्र भविष्यद्वक्ता येरेमियाह को पढ़ सुनाया.

Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the hearing of Jeremiah the prophet.

30 यह होते ही येरेमियाह को याहवेह का यह संदेश प्राप्‍त हुआ:

Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, saying,

31 “सभी बंदियों को यह संदेश प्रगट कर दो: ‘नेहेलामी शेमायाह के विषय में याहवेह का संदेश यह है: इसलिये कि शेमायाह ने तुम्हारे समक्ष भविष्यवाणी की है यद्यपि उसे मैंने प्रगट किया ही न था तथा उसने तुम्हें असत्य पर विश्वास करने के लिए उकसा दिया,

“Send word to all the exiles and say, 'Yahweh says this about Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you when I myself did not send him, and he has led you to believe lies,

32 इसलिये याहवेह का संदेश यह है: यह देखना कि मैं नेहेलामी शेमायाह तथा उसके वंशजों को दंड देने पर हूं. इन लोगों के मध्य में उसका कोई भी शेष न रह जाएगा, वह उस हित को देख न सकेगा, जो मैं अपनी प्रजा के निमित्त करने पर हूं, यह याहवेह की वाणी है, क्योंकि उसने याहवेह के विरुद्ध विद्रोह करना सिखाया था.’”

therefore Yahweh says this: Look, I am about to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. There will not be a man for him to stay among this people. He will not see the good that I will do for my people—this is Yahweh's declaration—for he has proclaimed rebellion against Yahweh.'”
