यिर्मयाह 19
1 याहवेह ने आदेश दिया: “जाकर कुम्हार से एक मिट्टी का बर्तन खरीदो, तथा कुछ प्राचीन नागरिकों तथा कुछ प्राचीन पुरोहितों को एकत्र करो
Thus says the LORD, Go and get a potter's earthen bottle, and take of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the priests;
2 तब बेन-हिन्नोम की घाटी में जाओ, इसके लिए तुम्हें टूटे हुए बर्तनों के प्रवेश द्वार से जाना होगा. वहां तुम उस संदेश की वाणी करना जो मैं तुम्हें भेजा करूंगा,
And go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the east gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell you,
3 तुम कहना, ‘यहूदिया के राजाओं तथा येरूशलेम वासियों याहवेह का संदेश सुनो. सेनाओं के याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर का संदेश यह है: मैं इस स्थान पर घोर विपत्ति लाने पर हूं, ऐसी जिसके विषय में सुनते ही हर एक श्रोता के कान झनझना उठेंगे.
And say, Hear all of you the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever hears, his ears shall tingle.
4 यह इसलिये कि उन्होंने मेरा परित्याग कर इस स्थान को अरुचिकर बना छोड़ा है; उन्होंने इस स्थान पर परकीय देवताओं के लिए बलि अर्पित की है, जिन्हें न तो उनके पूर्वजों ने, न यहूदिया के राजाओं ने कभी जाना-पहचाना था तथा इसलिये भी कि उन्होंने इस स्थान को निर्दोष लोगों के रक्त से रंजित कर रखा है.
Because they have forsaken me, and have cut off this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocent persons;
5 उन्होंने बाल के लिए अपने पुत्रों की होमबलि अर्पित करने के उद्देश्य से बाल के लिए पूजा-स्थल प्रतिष्ठित किए हैं. यह वह कृत्य है, जिसका मैंने उन्हें न तो आदेश दिया और न ही मैंने कभी इसका उल्लेख किया और न यह विचार ही कभी मेरे मस्तिष्क में आया.
They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spoke it, neither came it into my mind:
6 इसलिये यह देखना कि वे दिन आ रहे हैं, यह याहवेह की वाणी है, जब इस स्थान की पहचान तोफेथ अथवा बेन-हिन्नोम की घाटी नहीं रह जाएगी, बल्कि तब यह नरसंहार घाटी के रूप में प्रख्यात हो जाएगी.
Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter.
7 “‘मैं इस स्थान पर यहूदिया तथा येरूशलेम की युक्ति निष्फल कर दूंगा. तथा मैं ऐसा करूंगा कि वे अपने शत्रुओं के समक्ष ही, जो उनके प्राणों के प्यासे हैं, उन्हीं के तलवार के ग्रसित हो जाएंगे. और मैं उनके शव आकाश के पक्षी तथा पृथ्वी के पशुओं का आहार बना दूंगा.
And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcasses will I give to be food for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
8 इस नगर को मैं भय और घृणा का विषय बना दूंगा. इसके निकट से जाता हुआ हर एक व्यक्ति भयभीत होकर इसके घावों को देखेगा और उसका उपहास करेगा.
And I will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passes thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.
9 मैं ऐसी स्थिति उत्पन्न करूंगा कि वे अपनी ही संतान का मांस खाने लगेंगे, जब नगर की घेराबंदी होगी, और उनके शत्रुओं की ओर से उन पर विपत्ति आएगी तथा जो उनके प्राण लेने के लिए तैयार हैं, उन्हें उत्पीड़ित करने लगेंगे, तब वे एक दूसरे का ही मांस खाने लगेंगे.’
And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and strictness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.
10 “इसके बाद तुम्हें उन सभी के समक्ष जो तुम्हारे साथ वहां गए हुए हैं उस बर्तन को तोड़ देना होगा,
Then shall you break the bottle in the sight of the men that go with you,
11 तब तुम उनसे कहना, ‘यह सेनाओं के याहवेह का संदेश है: ठीक इसी प्रकार मैं इन लोगों को तथा इस नगर को चूर-चूर कर दूंगा, जैसे कोई कुम्हार द्वारा निर्मित बर्तन को तोड़ देता है, जिसे पुनर्निर्मित करना असंभव होता है. लोग शवों को तोफेथ में गाड़ेंगे, जब तक इन्हें गाड़ने के लिए स्थान शेष न रह जाएगा.
And shall say unto them, Thus says the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall bury them in Tophet, till there be no place to bury.
12 यही करूंगा मैं इस स्थान एवं यहां के निवासियों के साथ, यह याहवेह की वाणी है, कि मैं इस नगर को तोफेथ सदृश बना दूंगा.
Thus will I do unto this place, says the LORD, and to the inhabitants thereof, and even make this city as Tophet:
13 येरूशलेम के आवास एवं यहूदिया के राजाओं के आवास इस स्थान तोफेथ के सदृश अशुद्ध हो जाएंगे. उन सभी आवासों के कारण, जिन पर उन्होंने आकाश की शक्तियों को होमबलि अर्पित की तथा परकीय देवताओं को पेय बलि अर्पित की थी.’”
And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.
14 तत्पश्चात येरेमियाह तोफेथ से लौट आए, जहां याहवेह ने उन्हें भविष्यवाणी के उद्देश्य से भेजा था, येरेमियाह जाकर याहवेह के भवन के आंगन में खड़े हो गए और उन्होंने वहां से उपस्थित जनसमूह को इस प्रकार संबोधित किया,
Then came Jeremiah from Tophet, where the LORD had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the LORD's house; and said to all the people,
15 “इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, सेनाओं के याहवेह का संदेश यह है: ‘सुनो! मैं इस नगर तथा इसके सारे उपनगरों पर वे सारी विपत्तियां प्रभावी करने पर हूं, जिसकी मैं पूर्वघोषणा कर चुका हूं, क्योंकि उन्होंने मेरे आदेश को न सुनने के हठ में अपनी गर्दनें कठोर कर ली हैं.’”
Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear my words.
