यिर्मयाह 13
1 याहवेह ने मुझे यह आदेश दिया: “जाकर अपने लिए सन के सूत का बना एक कमरबंध ले आओ और उससे अपनी कमर कस लो, किंतु उसे जल में न डुबोना.”
Thus, said Yahweh unto me, —Go and buy for thyself a linen girdle, and put upon thy loins, —but in water, shalt thou not place it.
2 याहवेह के आदेश के अनुसार मैंने एक कमरबंध मोल लिया, और उससे अपनी कमर कस ली.
So I bought a girdle according to the word of Yahweh, —and put upon my loins.
3 तब दूसरी बार मेरे लिए याहवेह का यह आदेश प्राप्त किया गया:
Then came the word of Yahweh unto me second time saying:
4 “तुमने जो कमरबंध मोल लिया है जिससे तुमने अपनी कमर कसी हुई है, उसे लेकर फरात नदी के तट पर जाओ और उसे चट्टान के छिद्र में छिपा दो.”
Take the girdle which thou hast bought which is upon thy loins, —and arise go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the cliff.
5 इसलिये मैं फरात नदी के तट पर गया, जैसा याहवेह का आदेश था और उस कमरबंध को वहां छिपा दिया.
So I went, and hid it, by the Euphrates, as Yahweh had commanded me.
6 अनेक दिन व्यतीत हो जाने पर याहवेह ने मुझे आदेश दिया, “उठो, फरात तट पर जाओ और उस कमरबंध को उस स्थान से निकालो जहां मैंने तुम्हें उसे छिपाने का आदेश दिया था.”
And it came to pass, at the end of many days, —that Yahweh said unto me, —Arise go to the Euphrates, and take from thence the girdle, which I commanded thee to hide there.
7 मैं फरात नदी के तट पर गया और उस स्थान को खोदा, जहां मैंने उस कमरबंध को छिपाया था. जब मैंने उस कमरबंध को वहां से निकाला तो मैंने देखा कि वह कमरबंध नष्ट हो चुका था. अब वह किसी योग्य न रह गया था.
So I went to the Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle out of the place where I had hidden it, —and lo! the girdle was spoiled, it was good for nothing,
8 तब मुझे याहवेह का यह संदेश प्राप्त हुआ था:
Then came the word of Yahweh unto me saying:
9 “याहवेह का यह कहना है: ‘ठीक इसी प्रकार मैं यहूदिया का अहंकार नष्ट कर दूंगा तथा येरूशलेम का उच्चतर अहंकार भी.
Thus, saith Yahweh, —After this manner, will I spoil the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.
10 इन बुरे लोगों की नियति भी वही हो जाए, जो इस कमरबंध की हुई है, जो अब पूर्णतः अयोग्य हो चुका है. इन लोगों ने मेरे आदेश की अवहेलना की है, वे अपने हठी हृदय के अनुरूप आचरण करते हैं, वे परकीय देवताओं का अनुसरण करते हुए उनकी उपासना करते हैं तथा उन्हीं के समक्ष नतमस्तक होते हैं.
This wicked people who are refusing to hear my words, who are walking in the stubbornness of their heart, and have gone after other gods, to serve them and to bow down to them, yea let them be like this girdle, which is good for nothing.
11 क्योंकि जिस प्रकार कमरबंध मनुष्य की कमर से बंधा हुआ रहता है, ठीक उसी प्रकार मैंने सारे इस्राएल वंश तथा सारे यहूदाह गोत्र को स्वयं से बांधे रखा,’ यह याहवेह की वाणी है, ‘वे मेरी कीर्ति, स्तवन तथा गौरव के लिए मेरी प्रजा हो जाएं; किंतु उन्होंने इसे महत्व ही न दिया.’
For as a girdle cleaveth unto the loins of a man, so caused I to cleave unto me—the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah Declareth Yahweh, to become mine—For a people, and For a name, and For a praise and For an adorning, —but they hearkened not.
12 “इसलिये तुम्हें उनसे यह कहना होगा: ‘याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर का, यह आदेश है: हर एक मश्कों में द्राक्षारस भरा जाए.’ जब वे तुमसे यह पूछें, ‘क्या हमें यह ज्ञात नहीं कि हर एक मश्कों को द्राक्षारस से भरा जाना अपेक्षित है?’
Therefore shalt thou say unto them this word—Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Every jar, is to be filled with wine; and they will say unto thee, Do we not, know well, that every jar, is to be filled with wine?
13 तब तुम उन्हें उत्तर देना, ‘याहवेह का संदेश यह है: यह देखना कि मैं इस देश के हर एक नागरिक को कोपरूपी दाखमधु से भरने पर हूं, राजा जो दावीद के सिंहासन पर विराजमान है, पुरोहित, भविष्यद्वक्ता एवं येरूशलेम के सभी निवासी.
Then shalt thou say unto them—Thus, saith Yahweh—Behold me! filling all the inhabitants of this land Even the kings that are sitting for David upon his throne and the priests and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem—with drunkenness;
14 मैं उन्हें एक दूसरे से टकराऊंगा; पिताओं को पुत्रों से तथा पुत्रों को पिताओं से, यह याहवेह की वाणी है. उन्हें नष्ट करते हुए न तो मुझे उन पर दया आएगी न खेद होगा और न ही उन पर तरस आएगा.’”
and I will dash them every man against his brother even the fathers and the sons together, Declareth Yahweh, —I will not pity, Neither will I spare, Neither will I have compassion, that I should not destroy them.
15 सुनो और ध्यान दो, अहंकारी न बनो, क्योंकि याहवेह का आदेश प्रसारित हो चुका है.
Hear ye and give ear, be not haughty, —For Yahweh, hath spoken.
16 याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर को सम्मान दो इसके पूर्व कि वह अंधकार प्रभावी कर दें, और इसके पूर्व कि अंधकारमय पर्वतों पर तुम्हारे कदम लड़खड़ा जाएं. इसके पूर्व कि जब तुम प्रकाश का कल्याण कर रहे हो, वह इसे और भी अधिक गहन अंधकार बना दें तथा यह छाया में परिवर्तित हो जाए.
Give ye to Yahweh your God—glory, Before he cause darkness, and Before your feet stumble upon the twilight mountains; Lest, when ye wait for light, He turn it into the shadow of death, And change it for thick darkness.
17 किंतु यदि तुम मेरे आदेश की अवहेलना करो, तुम्हारे इस अहंकार के कारण मेरा प्राण भीतर ही भीतर विलाप करता रहेगा; मेरे नेत्र घोर रुदन करेंगे, मानो वे अश्रुओं के साथ ही बह जाएंगे, क्योंकि याहवेह की भेड़-बकरियों को बंदी बना लिया गया है.
But if ye will not hear it, In secret places, shall my soul weep Because of the pride, And mine eye, shall flow over, and run down with tears, Because captive hath been taken the flock of Yahweh.
18 राजा तथा राजमाता से अनुरोध करो, “सिंहासन छोड़ नीचे बैठ जाइए, क्योंकि आपका वैभवपूर्ण मुकुट आपके सिर से उतार लिया गया है.”
Say thou to the king and to the queen-mother, Abase yourselves—Sit down, —For descended have your Head-tires, your Crown of adornment.
19 नेगेव क्षेत्र के नगर अब घेर लिए गये हैं, कोई उनमें प्रवेश नहीं कर सकता. संपूर्ण यहूदिया को निर्वासन में ले जाया गया है, पूरा यहूदिया ही बंदी हो चुका है.
The cities of the South, are shut And there is none to open, —Judah hath been carried away captive, She hath altogether been carried away captive in full number.
20 अपने नेत्र ऊंचे उठाकर उन्हें देखो जो उत्तर दिशा से आ रहे हैं. वे भेड़-बकरियां कहां हैं, जो तुम्हें दी गई थी, वे पुष्ट भेड़ें?
Lift up your eyes and see Them who are coming in from the North, —Where is The flock that was given thee, Thy beautiful flock?
21 क्या प्रतिक्रिया होगी तुम्हारी जब याहवेह तुम्हारे ऊपर उन्हें अधिकारी नियुक्त कर देंगे, जिन्हें स्वयं तुमने अपने साथी होने के लिए शिक्षित किया था? क्या इससे तुम्हें पीड़ा न होगी वैसी ही जैसी प्रसूता को होती है?
What wilt thou say when he shall bring punishment upon thee, Since, thou thyself, hast accustomed them to be over thee as friends in chief? Shall not, pangs, seize thee, as of a woman in childbirth?
22 यदि तुम अपने हृदय में यह विचार करो, “क्या कारण है कि मेरे साथ यह सब घटित हुआ है?” तुम्हारी पापिष्ठता के परिमाण के फलस्वरूप तुम्हें निर्वस्त्र कर दिया गया तथा तुम्हारे अंग अनावृत कर दिए गए.
But if thou say in thy heart, Wherefore have these things befallen me? For the greatness of thine iniquity have Thy skirts been turned aside Thy heels suffered violence!
23 क्या कूश देशवासी अपनी त्वचा के रंग को परिवर्तित कर सकता है, अथवा क्या चीता अपनी चित्तियां परिवर्तित कर सकता है? यदि हां तो तुम भी जो दुष्टता करने के अभ्यस्त हो चुके हो, हितकार्य कर सकते हो.
Can the Ethiopian change, his skin, Or the leopard his spots? Even, ye, may be able to do right, Who are accustomed to do wrong.
24 “इसलिये मैं उन्हें इस प्रकार बिखरा दूंगा, जैसे पवन द्वारा भूसी मरुभूमि में उड़ा दी जाती है.
Therefore have I scattered them, As broken straw passing away, by the wind of the desert.
25 यही तुम्हारे लिए ठहराया अंश है, जो माप कर मेरे द्वारा दिया गया है,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है, “क्योंकि तुम मुझे भूल चुके हो और झूठे देवताओं पर भरोसा करते हो.
This is thy lot Thy measured portion from me, Declareth Yahweh; For that thou didst forget me, And confide in falsehood:
26 इसलिये स्वयं मैंने ही तुम्हें निर्वस्त्र किया है कि तुम्हारी निर्लज्जता सर्वज्ञात हो जाए.
Therefore, even I myself, have drawn away thy skirts, over thy face, And thy shame hath been seen,
27 धिक्कार है तुम पर येरूशलेम! मैं तुम्हारे घृणास्पद कार्य, तुम्हारे द्वारा किए गए व्यभिचार, तुम्हारी कामोत्तेजना, अनैतिक कुकर्म में कामुकतापूर्ण कार्य, जो तुम पर्वतों एवं खेतों में करते रहे हो देखता रहा हूं. येरूशलेम, धिक्कार है तुम पर! तुम कब तक अशुद्ध बने रहोगे?”
Thine adulteries and thy neighings, thine unchaste wickedness, Upon the hills in the field, I have seen thine abominations! Woe to thee, O Jerusalem, Wilt thou not become pure? After how long yet?
