यिर्मयाह 1
1 पुरोहितों में से बिन्यामिन प्रदेश के अनाथोथवासी हिलकियाह के पुत्र येरेमियाह का वचन.
These are the words of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah, one of the priests living in Anathoth in the territory of Benjamin.
2 जिन्हें यहूदिया के राजा अमोन के पुत्र योशियाह के राज्य-काल के तेरहवें वर्ष में याहवेह का संदेश प्रगट किया गया,
The Lord's message came to Jeremiah beginning in the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah, son of Amon, king of Judah,
3 उन्हें याहवेह का संदेश यहूदिया के राजा योशियाह के पुत्र यहोइयाकिम के राज्य-काल से लेकर, यहूदिया के राजा योशियाह के पुत्र सीदकियाहू के राज्य-काल के ग्यारहवें वर्ष के अंत तक, पांचवें माह में येरूशलेम के निवासी तक भी प्रगट किया जाता रहा.
and on through the time of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah, up to the fifth month of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, son of Josiah, king of Judah, which was when the people of Jerusalem went into exile.
4 मुझे याहवेह का संदेश प्राप्त हुआ,
The Lord came and told me,
5 “गर्भ में तुम्हें कोई स्वरूप देने के पूर्व मैं तुम्हें जानता था, तुम्हारे जन्म के पूर्व ही मैं तुम्हें नियुक्त कर चुका था; मैंने तुम्हें राष्ट्रों के लिए भविष्यद्वक्ता नियुक्त किया है.”
“I knew exactly who you would be before I created you in your mother's womb; I chose you before you were born to be a prophet to the nations.”
6 यह सुन मैंने कहा, “ओह, प्रभु याहवेह, बात करना तो मुझे आता ही नहीं; क्योंकि मैं तो निरा लड़का ही हूं.”
“Oh no, Lord God!” I replied. “I really don't know how to speak in public because I'm still too young!”
7 किंतु याहवेह ने मुझसे कहा, “मत कहो, ‘मैं तो निरा लड़का ही हूं.’ क्योंकि मैं तुम्हें जहां कहीं भेजा करूं तुम वहां जाओगे.
“Don't say you're too young,” the Lord told me. “Go to everyone I send you to. Tell them everything I order you to say.
8 तब उनसे भयभीत मत होना, क्योंकि तुम्हें छुड़ाने के लिए मैं तुम्हारे साथ हूं,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.
Don't be afraid of them because I'll go with you and I'll look after you. This is the Lord's promise.”
9 तब याहवेह ने हाथ बढ़ाकर मेरे मुख को स्पर्श किया और याहवेह ने मुझसे कहा, “देखो, मैंने तुम्हारे मुख में अपने शब्द स्थापित कर दिए हैं.
The Lord stretched out his hand, touched my mouth, and told me: “Look, I've put my words in your mouth.
10 यह समझ लो कि आज मैंने तुम्हें उन राष्ट्रों तथा राज्यों पर इसलिये नियुक्त किया है कि तुम तोड़ो तथा चूर-चूर करो, नष्ट करो तथा सत्ता पलट दो, निर्माण करो तथा रोपित करो.”
Today I've placed you over nations and kingdoms to pull up and tear down, to destroy and demolish, to build and plant.”
11 मुझे याहवेह का यह संदेश प्रगट किया गया: “येरेमियाह, तुम्हें क्या दिखाई दे रहा है?” “मैंने उत्तर दिया, मुझे बादाम के वृक्ष की एक छड़ी दिखाई दे रही है.”
The Lord's message came to me, asking, “Jeremiah, what can you see?” “I see a twig from an almond tree,” I answered.
12 याहवेह ने मुझसे कहा, “तुम्हारा देखना सही है, इसका आशय यह है कि मैं यह देखने के लिए जागृत हूं कि मेरा वचन पूरा हो!”
“That's right, because I am watching to make sure what I say happens,” the Lord said.
13 याहवेह का संदेश पुनः मुझे प्रगट किया गया: “तुम्हें क्या दिखाई दे रहा है?” मैंने उत्तर दिया, “मुझे भोजन पकाने का एक बर्तन दिखाई दे रहा है, उत्तर दिशा से हमारी ओर झुका दिया गया है.”
The Lord's message came to me again, asking, “What can you see?” “I see a pot that's boiling,” I answered, “and it's tipping in this direction from the north.”
14 तब याहवेह ने मुझ पर प्रकट किया, “इस देश के निवासियों पर उत्तर दिशा से संकट टूट पड़ेगा.
Then the Lord told me, “Trouble brewing from the north will sweep out over everyone living in the country.
15 क्योंकि देख लेना, मैं उत्तरी राज्यों के सारे परिवारों को आह्वान कर रहा हूं,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है. “वे आएंगे तथा उनमें से हर एक येरूशलेम के प्रवेश द्वार पर, इसकी सभी शहरपनाह के चारों ओर तथा यहूदिया के सभी नगरों पर अपना अपना सिंहासन स्थापित कर लेंगे.
Watch out! I'm going to summon all the nations and kings of the north,” declares the Lord. “Each of these kings will come and set up their thrones right at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and attack all its fortifications and all the towns in Judah.
16 मैं अपने न्याय-दंड की घोषणा करूंगा, उनकी सभी बुराइयों पर जिनके अंतर्गत उन्होंने मेरा परित्याग कर दिया, पराये देवताओं को बलि अर्पित किया तथा स्वयं अपने द्वारा निर्मित मूर्तियों की उपासना की है.
I will carry out my sentence against the inhabitants for all their wickedness, because they abandoned me to burn incense to pagan gods, to worship idols they themselves made.
17 “अब उठो! तैयार हो जाओ और उन सभी से बात करो जिनके विषय में मैं तुम्हें आदेश दे रहा हूं. उनके समक्ष जाकर निराश न हो जाना, अन्यथा मैं तुम्हें उनके समक्ष निराश कर दूंगा.
You need to get yourself ready. You are going to stand before the people and tell them everything that I order you to say. Don't be scared by them, or I will scare you in front of them.
18 अब यह समझ लो आज मैंने तुम्हें सारे देश के लिए, यहूदिया के राजाओं के लिए, इसके उच्चाधिकारियों के लिए, इसके पुरोहितों के लिए तथा देशवासियों के लिए एक गढ़नगर, एक लौह स्तंभ तथा कांस्य दीवारों सदृश बना दिया है.
Look! Today I have made you like a fortified city, a pillar of iron, a wall of bronze to stand against the whole country—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests, and the people of the country.
19 वे तुम पर आक्रमण तो करेंगे किंतु तुम्हें पराजित नहीं कर सकेंगे, क्योंकि तुम्हारा बचाने वाला मैं तुम्हारे साथ हूं,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.
They will fight against you but they won't defeat you, because I'll be there to rescue you,” declares the Lord.
