यशायाह 7
1 यह उल्लेख उस समय का है, जब उज्जियाह का पोता, योथाम के पुत्र यहूदिया के राजा आहाज़, अराम के राजा रेज़िन और रेमालियाह के पुत्र इस्राएल के राजा पेकाह ने येरूशलेम पर हमला किया, और हार गये.
And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it; but could not prevail against it.
2 जब दावीद के घराने को यह पता चला कि अराम और एफ्राईम एकजुट हो गए है; तो उनके लोग आंधी से हिलते हुए वन वृक्षों के समान डर से कांपने लगे.
And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moved with the wind.
3 तब याहवेह ने यशायाह से कहा, “तुम्हें और तुम्हारे पुत्र शआर-याशूब को आहाज़ से मिलने राजमार्ग से लगे धोबी खेत में ऊपरी कुंड के पास पहुंचना है.
Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, in the highway of the fuller’s field;
4 और उनसे कहना कि, ‘अराम के राजा, रेज़िन तथा रेमालियाह के पुत्र के क्रोध के कारण जो जलता हुआ धुआं दिखाई दे रहा है, सावधान और शांत बने रहना, भयभीत न होना और न ही घबराना.
and say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither let thine heart be faint, because of these two tails of smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
5 क्योंकि अराम के राजा, रेमालियाह के पुत्र तथा एफ्राईम ने तुम्हारे विरुद्ध यह कहते हुए नई चाल चली है,
Because Syria hath counselled evil against thee, Ephraim [also], and the son of Remaliah, saying,
6 “आओ, हम यहूदाह पर आक्रमण कर उसे मार दें, और ताबील के पुत्र को उसका राजा बना दें.”
Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeel:
7 इसलिये प्रभु याहवेह ने कहा: “‘उनकी यह चाल सफल न होगी, यह कदापि सफल न होगी.
thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
8 क्योंकि अराम का सिर दमेशेक है, और दमेशेक का रेज़िन. आगामी पैंसठ वर्षों के अंदर में एफ्राईम ऐसा नष्ट कर दिया जाएगा.
For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken in pieces, that it be not a people:
9 एफ्राईम का शीर्ष शोमरोन और शोमरोन का शीर्ष रेमालियाह का पुत्र है. यदि तुम विश्वास नहीं करोगे तो स्थिर भी नहीं रहोगे.’”
and the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
10 तब याहवेह ने आहाज़ से कहा,
And the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying,
11 “तुम याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर से अपने लिए एक चिन्ह मांगो, चाहे वह गहरे सागर का हो या आकाश का.” (Sheol h7585)
Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. (Sheol h7585)
12 किंतु आहाज़ ने कहा, “नहीं, मैं न तो मांगूंगा और न ही याहवेह को परखूंगा.”
But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.
13 इस पर यशायाह ने कहा, “हे दावीद के घराने सुनो! क्या तुम्हारे लिए लोगों के धैर्य की परीक्षा लेना काफ़ी न था, कि अब तुम मेरे परमेश्वर के धैर्य को भी परखोगे?”
And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; is it a small thing for you to weary men, that ye will weary my God also?
14 तब प्रभु स्वयं तुम्हें एक चिन्ह देंगे: सुनो, एक कन्या गर्भधारण करेगी, वह एक पुत्र को जन्म देगी और उसे इम्मानुएल नाम से पुकारेगी.
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
15 बुरे को अस्वीकार करने तथा भले को अपनाने की समझ होने तक वह मक्खन और शहद खाएगा,
Butter and honey shall he eat, when he knoweth to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
16 क्योंकि बालक को बुरे को अस्वीकार करने तथा भले को अपनाने की समझ होने से पहले, जिन दो राजाओं से तुम डर रहे हो उनके राज्य निर्जन कर दिए जाएंगे.
For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land whose two kings thou abhorrest shall be forsaken.
17 याहवेह तुम पर, तुम्हारी प्रजा और तुम्हारे पूर्वजों के वंश पर ऐसा समय लाएंगे जैसा उस समय से, जब अश्शूर के राजा के समय में एफ्राईम यहूदिया से अलग हुआ था, अब तक कभी ऐसा नहीं हुआ था.
The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; [even] the king of Assyria.
18 उस दिन याहवेह सीटी की आवाज से मिस्र देश की नदियों के छोर से मक्खियों को तथा अश्शूर देश से मधुमक्खियों को बुलाएंगे.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
19 और वे सभी आकर ढलवां घाटियों, चट्टानों की दरारों में, कंटीली झाड़ियों और जलधाराओं के निकट में बस जाएंगी.
And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all pastures.
20 उस दिन प्रभु फ़रात नदी के पार के क्षेत्र से भाड़े पर लिए हुए छुरे से अश्शूर के राजा के सिर तथा पूरे शरीर के बाल और दाढ़ी को काट डालेंगे.
In that day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, [which is] in the parts beyond the River, [even] with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.
21 उस समय, मनुष्य केवल एक कलोर और भेड़ों के जोड़े को पालेगा.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;
22 दूध की बहुतायत के कारण दही उसका भोजन होगा क्योंकि देश में जीवित रह गए हर व्यक्ति का भोजन दही और मधु ही होगा.
and it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the midst of the land.
23 उस समय, जहां हजार टुकड़े चांदी की हजार दाख लताएं होती थी, वहां अब कंटीली झाड़ियां तथा ऊंटकटारे उगेंगे.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, shall even be for briers and thorns.
24 लोग वहां धनुष और तीर लेकर जाएंगे क्योंकि पूरा देश कंटीली झाड़ियों से भरा होगा.
With arrows and with bow shall one come thither; because all the land shall be briers and thorns.
25 जिन पहाड़ियों पर कुदाली से खेती की जाती थी, अब तुम कंटीली झाड़ियों तथा ऊंटकटारों के कारण वहां नहीं जा पाओगे. मवेशी, भेड़, और बकरियां वहां चरेंगी.
And all the hills that were digged with the mattock; thou shalt not come thither for fear of briers and thorns, but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of sheep.
