यशायाह 64
1 भला हो कि आप आकाश को फाड़कर नीचे आ सकते, कि पर्वत आपके सामने कांप उठे!
“Oh, if you had split open the heavens and come down! The mountains would have shaken at your presence,
2 जिस प्रकार आग झाड़ को जला देती है या जल को उबालती है, वैसे ही आपके विरोधियों को आपकी प्रतिष्ठा का बोध हो जाता कि आपकी उपस्थिति से राष्ट्र कांप उठते हैं!
as when fire kindles the brushwood, or the fire makes water boil. Oh, that your name would be known by your adversaries, that the nations would tremble at your presence!
3 जब आपने ऐसे भयानक काम किए थे, तब आप उतर आए थे, पर्वत आपकी उपस्थिति में कांप उठे.
Previously, when you did marvelous things that we had not expected, you came down, and the mountains trembled at your presence.
4 पूर्वकाल से न तो उन्होंने सुना है, न ही देखा गया है, आपके सिवाय हमारे लिए और कोई परमेश्वर नहीं हुआ है, जो अपने भक्तों की ओर ध्यान दे.
Since ancient times no one has heard or perceived, nor eye seen any God besides you, who does things for him who waits for him.
5 आप उन्हीं से मिलते हैं जो आनंद से नीतियुक्त काम करते हैं, जो आपको याद रखते हुए आपके मार्गों पर चलते हैं. सच है कि आप हमारे पाप के कारण क्रोधित हुए, और हमारी यह दशा बहुत समय से है. क्या हमें छुटकारा मिल सकता है?
You come to help those who rejoice in doing what is right, those who call to mind your ways and obey them. You were angry when we sinned. In your ways we will always be rescued.
6 हम सभी अशुद्ध मनुष्य के समान हो गये है, हमारे धर्म के काम मैले चिथडों के समान है; हम सभी पत्तों के समान मुरझा जाते हैं, हमारे अधर्म के काम हमें हवा में उड़ा ले जाते हैं.
For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a menstrual rag. We have all withered like leaves; our iniquities, like the wind, carry us away.
7 ऐसा कोई भी नहीं जो आपके नाम की दोहाई देता है और जो आपको थामे रहने का प्रयास यत्न से करता है; क्योंकि आपने हमसे अपना मुंह छिपा लिया है तथा हमें हमारी बुराइयों के हाथ कर दिया है.
There are none who calls on your name, who makes an effort to take hold of you. For you have hidden your face from us and made us waste away in the hand of our iniquities.
8 किंतु अब, याहवेह, हमने आपको पिता समान स्वीकारा है. हम तो मात्र मिट्टी हैं, आप हमारे कुम्हार; हम सभी आपके हाथ की रचना हैं.
Yet, Yahweh, you are our father; we are the clay. You are our potter; and we all are the work of your hand.
9 इसलिये हे याहवेह, क्रोधित न होईये; और अनंत काल तक हमारे पापों को याद न रखिए. हमारी ओर ध्यान दीजिए, हम सभी आपके अपने ही हैं.
Be not too angry, Yahweh, nor always call to mind against us our sins. Please look at us all, your people.
10 देखो आपका पवित्र नगर बंजर भूमि हो गया है; ज़ियोन अब सुनसान है! येरूशलेम उजाड़ पड़ा है.
Your holy cities have become a wilderness; Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
11 हमारा पवित्र एवं भव्य भवन, जहां हमारे पूर्वजों ने आपकी स्तुति की थी, आग से जला दिया गया है, हमारी सभी अमूल्य वस्तुएं नष्ट हो चुकी हैं.
Our holy and beautiful temple, where our fathers praised you, has been destroyed by fire, and all that was so dear is in ruins.
12 यह सब होते हुए भी, याहवेह, क्या आप अपने आपको रोके रहेंगे? क्या आप हमें इस दुर्दशा में रहने देंगे?
How can you still hold back, Yahweh? How can you remain silent and continue to humiliate us?”
