यशायाह 57

1 धर्मी व्यक्ति नाश होते हैं, और कोई इस बात की चिंता नहीं करता; भक्त उठा लिये जाते हैं, परंतु कोई नहीं सोचता. धर्मी जन आनेवाली परेशानी से बचने के लिये उठा लिये जाते हैं.

The righteous has perished, And there is none laying [it] to heart, And men of kindness are gathered, Without any considering that from the face of evil The righteous one is gathered.

2 वे शांति पहचानते हैं, वे अपने बिछौने पर आराम पाते हैं; जो सीधी चाल चलते हैं.

He enters into peace, they rest on their beds, [Each] is going straightforward.

3 “परंतु हे जादूगरनी, व्यभिचारी और उसकी संतान यहां आओ!

“And you, come near here, O sons of a sorceress, seed of an adulterer, Even you commit whoredom.

4 तुम किस पर हंसते हो? किसके लिए तुम्हारा मुंह ऐसा खुल रहा है किस पर जीभ निकालते हो? क्या तुम अत्याचार व झूठ की संतान नहीं हो?

Against whom do you sport yourselves? Against whom do you enlarge the mouth [And] prolong the tongue? Are you not children of transgression? A false seed?

5 सब हरे वृक्ष के नीचे कामातुर होते हो और नालों में तथा चट्टानों की गुफाओं में अपने बालकों का वध करते रहते हो.

Who are inflamed among oaks, under every green tree, Slaughtering the children in valleys, Under clefts of the rocks.

6 तुम्हारा संबंध तो चट्टान के उन चिकने पत्थरों से है; वही तुम्हारा भाग और अंश है. तुम उन्हीं को अन्‍नबलि और पेय बलि चढ़ाते हो. क्या इन सबसे मेरा मन शांत हो जाएगा?

Your portion [is] among the smooth things of a brook, They [are] your lot, You have also poured out an oblation to them, You have caused a present to ascend, Am I comforted in these things?

7 ऊंचे पर्वत पर तुमने अपना बिछौना लगाया है; और तुमने वहीं जाकर बलि चढ़ाई है.

On a mountain, high and exalted, You have set your bed, You have also gone up there to make a sacrifice.

8 द्वार तथा द्वार के चौखट के पीछे तुमने अपने अन्य देवताओं का चिन्ह बनाया है, तुमने अपने आपको मुझसे दूर कर लिया है. तुमने वहां अपनी देह दिखाई, तब तुमने अपने बिछौने के स्थान को बढ़ा लिया; तुमने उनके साथ अपने लिए एक संबंध बना लिया, तुम्हारे लिए उनका बिछौना प्रिय हो गया, और उनकी नग्न शरीरों पर आसक्ति से नज़र डाली!

And behind the door, and the post, You have set up your memorial, For you have removed from Me, and go up, You have enlarged your bed, And cut [a covenant] with them, You have loved their bed, the station you saw,

9 राजा से मिलने के लिए तुमने यात्रा की तथा सुगंध द्रव्य से श्रृंगार कर उसे तेल भेंट किया. तुमने दूर देशों और अधोलोक में अपना दूत भेजा! (Sheol h7585)

And go joyfully to the king in ointment, And multiply your perfumes, And send your ambassadors far off, And humble yourself to Sheol. (Sheol h7585)

10 तुम तो लंबे मार्ग के कारण थक चुके थे, फिर भी तुमने यह न कहा कि, ‘व्यर्थ ही है यह.’ तुममें नए बल का संचार हुआ, तब तुम थके नहीं.

You have labored in the greatness of your way, You have not said, It is desperate. You have found the life of your hand, Therefore you have not been sick.

11 “कौन था वह जिससे तुम डरती थी जब तुमने मुझसे झूठ कहा, तथा मुझे भूल गई, तुमने तो मेरे बारे में सोचना ही छोड़ दिया था? क्या मैं बहुत समय तक चुप न रहा तुम इस कारण मेरा भय नहीं मानती?

And of whom have you been afraid, and fear, That you lie, and have not remembered Me? You have not laid [it] to your heart, Am I not silent, even from of old? And you do not fear Me?

12 मैं तुम्हारे धर्म एवं कामों को बता दूंगा, लेकिन यह तुम्हारे लिए अच्छा नहीं होगा.

I declare your righteousness, and your works, And they do not profit you.

13 बुलाने पर, तुम्हारी मूर्तियां ही तुम्हारी रक्षा करें! किंतु होगा यह कि हवा उन्हें उड़ा ले जाएगी, केवल श्वास उन्हें दूर कर देगी. परंतु वे जो मुझ पर भरोसा रखते हैं, वह देश के अधिकारी होंगे, तथा वह मेरे पवित्र पर्वत का स्वामी हो जाएगा.”

When you cry, let your gatherings deliver you, And wind carries all of them away, Vanity takes away, And whoever is trusting in Me inherits the land, And possesses My holy mountain.”

14 तब यह कहा जाएगा: “निर्माण करो, निर्माण करो, पांति बांधकर राजमार्ग बनाओ! हर एक रुकावट मेरी प्रजा के मार्ग से हटाई जाए.”

And He has said, “Raise up, raise up, prepare a way, Lift a stumbling-block out of the way of My people.”

15 क्योंकि जो महान, उत्तम और सदा-सर्वदा जीवित रहते हैं— जिनका नाम ही पवित्र है, वे यों कहते हैं: “मैं ऊंचे एवं पवित्र स्थान में निवास करता हूं, और दुःखी तथा नम्र लोगों के साथ भी रहता हूं, ताकि मैं नम्र और दुःखी लोगों के मन को खुशी दूं.

For thus said the high and exalted One, Inhabiting eternity, and His Name [is] holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, And with the bruised and humble of spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of bruised ones,

16 क्योंकि मैं सदा-सर्वदा वाद-विवाद करता न रहूंगा, न ही मैं सर्वदा रुठा रहूंगा, क्योंकि वे आत्माएं मेरी बनायी हुई हैं— और जीव मेरे सामने मूर्छित हो जाते हैं.

For I do not strive for all time, nor am I angry forever, For the spirit is feeble before Me, And the souls I have made.

17 उसके लालच के कारण मैं उससे क्रोधित होकर; उसको दुःख दिया और मुंह छिपाया था, पर वह अपनी इच्छा से दूर चला गया था.

For the iniquity of his dishonest gain, I have been angry, and I strike him, Hiding—and am angry, And he goes on turning back in the way of his heart.

18 मैंने उसका चालचलन देखा है, फिर भी अब उसको चंगा करूंगा; मैं उसे ले चलूंगा तथा उसके शोक करनेवालों को शांति दूंगा,

I have seen his ways, and I heal him, indeed, I lead him, And repay comforts to him and to his mourning ones.

19 मैं उनके होंठों के फल का रचनेवाला हूं. जो दूर हैं उन्हें शांति, और पास हैं उन्हें भी मैं शांति दूंगा,” यह याहवेह का वचन है, “मैं उसे चंगा करूंगा.”

Producing the fruit of the lips, Peace, peace, to the far off, and to the near, And I have healed him,” said YHWH.

20 परंतु दुष्ट लहराते हुए सागर समान है, जो स्थिर रह ही नहीं सकता, उसकी तरंगें कचरे और कीचड़ को उछालती रहती हैं.

And the wicked [are] as the driven out sea, For it is not able to rest, And its waters cast out filth and mire.

21 मेरे परमेश्वर का वचन है, “दुष्टों के लिए शांति नहीं.”

“There is no peace,” said my God, “for the wicked!”
