यशायाह 33
1 हाय! तुम पर, जिनको नाश नहीं किया गया! और हाय! तुम विश्वासघातियों पर, जिनके साथ विश्वासघात नहीं किया गया! जब तुम नाश करोगे, तब तुम नाश किए जाओगे; और जब तुम विश्वासघात कर लोगे, तब तुम्हारे साथ विश्वासघात किया जायेगा.
Woe to thee that destroyest, and thou wast not destroyed; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou hast ceased to destroy, thou shalt be destroyed; and when thou hast made an end of dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
2 हे याहवेह, हम पर दया कीजिए; हम आप ही की ओर देखते हैं. प्रति भोर आप हमारा बल तथा विपत्ति में हमारा सहायक बनिये.
O Jehovah, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou our arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3 शोर सुनते ही लोग भागने लगते हैं; जब आप उठते तब, लोग बिखरने लगते हैं.
At the noise of the tumult the peoples are fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations are scattered.
4 जैसे टिड्डियां खेत को नष्ट करती हैं; उसी प्रकार लूटकर लाई गई चीज़ों को नष्ट कर दिया गया है, मनुष्य उस पर लपकते हैं.
And your spoil shall be gathered as the caterpillar gathereth: as locusts leap shall men leap upon it.
5 याहवेह महान हैं, वह ऊंचे पर रहते हैं; उन्होंने ज़ियोन को न्याय तथा धर्म से भर दिया है.
Jehovah is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
6 याहवेह तुम्हारे समय के लिए निश्चित आधार होगा! उद्धार, बुद्धि और ज्ञान तुम्हारा हक होगा; और याहवेह का भय उसका धन होगा.
And there shall be stability in thy times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge: the fear of Jehovah is thy treasure.
7 देख, उनके सैनिक गलियों में रो रहे हैं; शांति के राजदूत फूट-फूटकर रो रहे हैं.
Behold, their valiant ones cry without; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.
8 मार्ग सुनसान पड़े हैं, और सब वायदों को तोड़ दिया गया है. उसे नगरों से घृणा हो चुकी है, मनुष्य के प्रति उसमें कोई सम्मान नहीं है.
The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: [the enemy] hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth not man.
9 देश रो रहा है, और परेशान है, लबानोन लज्जित होकर मुरझा रहा है; शारोन मरुभूमि के मैदान के समान हो गया है, बाशान तथा कर्मेल की हरियाली खत्म हो चुकी हैं.
The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is confounded and withereth away; Sharon is like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off [their leaves].
10 याहवेह ने कहा, “अब मैं उठूंगा, अब मैं अपना प्रताप दिखाऊंगा; और महान बनाऊंगा.
Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.
11 तुम्हें सूखी घास का गर्भ रहेगा, और भूसी उत्पन्न होगी; तुम्हारी श्वास ही तुम्हें भस्म कर देगी.
Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you.
12 जो लोग भस्म होंगे वे चुने के समान हो जाएंगे; उन कंटीली झाड़ियों को आग में भस्म कर दिया जायेगा.”
And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.
13 हे दूर-दूर के लोगों, सुनो कि मैंने क्या-क्या किया है; और तुम, जो पास हो, मेरे सामर्थ्य को देखो!
Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.
14 ज़ियोन के पापी डर गये; श्रद्धाहीन कांपने लगे: “हममें से कौन इस आग में जीवित रहेगा? जो कभी नहीं बुझेगी.”
The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath seized the godless ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?
15 वही जो धर्म से चलता है तथा सीधी बातें बोलता, जो गलत काम से नफरत करता है जो घूस नहीं लेता, जो खून की बात सुनना नहीं चाहता और बुराई देखना नहीं चाहता—
He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking a bribe, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from looking upon evil:
16 वही ऊंचे स्थान में रहेगा, व चट्टानों में शरण पायेगा. उसे रोटी, और पानी की कमी नहीं होगी.
He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given [him]; his waters shall be sure.
17 तुम स्वयं अपनी ही आंखों से राजा को देखोगे और लंबे चौड़े देश पर ध्यान दोगे.
Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold a land that reacheth afar.
18 तुम्हारा हृदय भय के दिनों को याद करेगा: “हिसाब लेनेवाला और कर तौलकर लेनेवाला कहां रहा? गुम्मटों का लेखा लेनेवाला कहां रहा?”
Thy heart shall muse on the terror: Where is he that counted, where is he that weighed [the tribute]? where is he that counted the towers?
19 उन निर्दयी लोगों को तू दोबारा न देखेगा, जिनकी भाषा कठिन है और जो हकलाते हैं, तथा उनकी बातें किसी को समझ नहीं आती.
Thou shalt not see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that thou canst not comprehend, of a strange tongue that thou canst not understand.
20 ज़ियोन के नगर पर ध्यान दो, जो उत्सवों का नगर है; येरूशलेम को तुम एक शांत ज़ियोन के रूप में देखोगे, एक ऐसे शिविर, जिसे लपेटा नहीं जाएगा; जिसके खूंटों को उखाड़ा न जाएगा, न ही जिसकी रस्सियों को काटा जाएगा.
Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
21 किंतु वही याहवेह जो पराक्रमी परमेश्वर हैं हमारे पक्ष में है. वह बड़ी-बड़ी नदियों एवं नहरों का स्थान है. उन पर वह नाव नहीं जा सकती जिसमें पतवार लगते हैं, इस पर बड़े जहाज़ नहीं जा सकते.
But there Jehovah will be with us in majesty, a place of broad rivers and streams, wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
22 क्योंकि याहवेह हमारे न्यायी हैं, याहवेह हमारे हाकिम, याहवेह हमारे राजा हैं; वही हमें उद्धार देंगे.
For Jehovah is our judge, Jehovah is our lawgiver, Jehovah is our king; he will save us.
23 तुम्हारी रस्सियां ढीली पड़ी हुई हैं: वे जहाज़ को स्थिर न रख सकतीं, न पाल को तान सके. तब लूटी हुई चीज़ों को बांटकर विकलांग ले जाएंगे.
Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not strengthen the foot of their mast, they could not spread the sail: then was the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame took the prey.
24 कोई भी व्यक्ति यह नहीं कहेगा, “मैं बीमार हूं”; वहां के लोगों के अधर्म को क्षमा कर दिया जायेगा.
And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
