यशायाह 25

1 याहवेह, आप ही मेरे परमेश्वर हैं; मैं आपकी प्रशंसा करूंगा और आपके नाम की महिमा करूंगा, क्योंकि आपने बड़े अद्भुत काम किए हैं, और उन सनातन योजनाओं को पूरी विश्वस्तता एवं सच्चाई से आपने पूरा किया है.

O Lord, my God art thou; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things, resolves of distant times [are become] faithful confirmation.

2 आपने नगरों को गिरा दिया, और खंडहर कर दिया, परदेशियों का अब कोई नगर नहीं; और न ही उन्हें फिर बसाया जाएगा.

For thou hast made of a city a stone-heap; of a fortified town a falling ruin; the palace of barbarians ceaseth out of the city, to eternity shall it not be rebuilt.

3 इसलिये बलवंत प्रजा आपकी महिमा करेगी; और निर्दयी आपका भय मानेंगे.

Therefore shall a strong people honor thee; the town of the tyrannical nations shall fear thee.

4 दीनों के लिए आप शरणस्थान, और विपत्ति के समय आप उनके लिए ढाल होंगे, दरिद्रों के लिये उनके शरण और रक्षक होंगे.

For thou hast become a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy when he is distressed; a protection from the tempest, a shadow from the heat; for the [wrathful] breath of the tyrants is like the tempest against a wall.

5 जैसे निर्जल देश में बादल से ठंडक होती है; वैसे ही परदेशियों का कोलाहल, और निर्दयी लोगों का जय जयकार शांत हो जाएगा.

Like heat in a dry land, wilt thou subdue the tumult of the barbarians; as the heat [is lessened] by the shadow of the cloud, so will he subdue the song of the tyrants.

6 इसी पर्वत पर सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह सब लोगों को भोजन खिलाएंगे, जिसमें पुराना दाखरस— और उत्तम से उत्तम चिकना भोजन जो अच्छा और स्वादिष्ट होगा.

And the Lord of hosts will make unto all the nations on this mountain a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

7 इस पर्वत पर आकर सब जातियों और देशों के बीच जो पर्दा, और दीवार है तोड़ देगा;

And he will destroy on this mountain the face of the covering which covereth all the people, and the vail that is spread over all the nations.

8 वह सदा-सर्वदा के लिए मृत्यु को नाश करेंगे. और प्रभु याहवेह सभी के चेहरों से आंसुओं को पोंछ देंगे; वह अपने लोगों की निंदा को दूर कर देंगे. याहवेह का यह संदेश है.

He will destroy death to eternity: and the Lord Eternal will wipe away the tear from off all faces; and the shame of his people will he remove from off all the earth; for the Lord hath spoken it.

9 उस दिन लोग यह कहेंगे, “कि, यही हैं हमारे परमेश्वर; यही हैं वह याहवेह जिनका हमने इंतजार किया. आओ, हम उनके उद्धार में आनंद मनाएं और प्रसन्‍न रहेंगे.”

And men will say on that day, Lo, this is our God, for whom we have waited that he would help us; this is the Lord for whom we have waited, we will be glad and we will rejoice in his salvation.

10 क्योंकि याहवेह का हाथ सदा बना रहेगा; मोआब उनके द्वारा रौंद दिया जाएगा जिस प्रकार गोबर-कुण्ड में एक तिनके को रौंद दिया जाता है.

For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain, and Moab shall be trodden down on his own place, even as straw is trodden down upon the dunghill.

11 जिस प्रकार एक तैराक अपने हाथों को फैलाता है, उसी प्रकार मोआब भी अपने हाथों को फैलाएगा. किंतु याहवेह उसके घमंड को चूर-चूर और उसके हाथों की कुशलता को कमजोर कर देंगे.

And he will spread forth his hands in the midst thereof, as the swimmer spreadeth them forth to swim: and he will bring down his pride together with the joints of his hands.

12 याहवेह उसकी दृढ़ शहरपनाह को गिरा देंगे वह उन्हें भूमि पर फेंक देंगे; उन्हें मिट्टी में मिला देंगे.

And the fortress of the stronghold of thy walls he bringeth down, layeth low, casteth it to the ground, even to the dust.
