यशायाह 17
1 दमेशेक के विरोध में एक भविष्यवाणी: दमेशेक एक नगर न रहकर खंडहरों का एक ढेर बन जाएगा.
A message about Damascus. Look, Damascus will cease to exist as city. Instead it will become a pile of ruins.
2 अरोअर के नगर उजाड़ कर दिए गए हैं वहां पशु चरेंगे और आराम करेंगे और उन्हें भगाने वाला कोई नहीं होगा.
The towns of Aroer will be abandoned. Flocks will live in the streets and rest there, because there won't be anyone to chase them away.
3 एफ्राईम के गढ़ गुम हो जाएंगे, दमेशेक के राज्य में कोई नहीं बचेगा; यह सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह की यह वाणी है.

4 “उस दिन याकोब का वैभव कम हो जाएगा; और उसका शरीर कमजोर हो जाएगा.

6 जैतून के पेड़ को झाड़ने पर कुछ फल नीचे रह जाते हैं, उसी प्रकार इसमें भी बीनने के लिए कुछ बच जाएगा,” यह याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर की वाणी है.

7 उस दिन मनुष्य अपने सृष्टिकर्ता की ओर अपनी आंखें उठाएंगे और उनकी दृष्टि इस्राएल के उस पवित्र की ओर होगी.

8 वह अपनी बनाई हुई धूप वेदी और अशेरा नामक मूर्ति या सूर्य को न देखेगा.

9 उस समय उनके गढ़वाले नगर, घने बंजर भूमि हो जाएंगे अथवा जो इस्राएल के डर से छोड़ दिए गए हो, उन्हें नष्ट कर दिया जाएगा.
At that time their fortified cities will be like places left to be taken over by bushes and trees, just as they were previously abandoned when the Israelites invaded. The country will become completely desolate.
10 क्योंकि तुम अपने उद्धारकर्ता परमेश्वर को भूल गए; और अपनी चट्टान को याद नहीं किया, इसलिये तब चाहे तुम अच्छे पौधे और किसी अनजान के लिए दाख की बारी लगाओ,
You have forgotten the God who saves you; you have not remembered the Rock who protects you. So, even though you plant beautiful plants and grow exotic vines,
11 उगाने के बाद तुम इसे बढ़ा भी लो और जो बीज तुमने लगाया और उसमें कोपल निकल आये, किंतु दुःख और तकलीफ़ के कारण उपज की कोई खुशी नहीं प्राप्त होगी.
even though you make them grow on the day that you plant them, and have them blossom in the morning that you sow them, your harvest will heap of trouble on a day of grief and pain that cannot be cured.
12 हाय देश-देश के बहुत से लोगों का कैसा अपमान हो रहा है— वे समुद्र की लहरों के समान उठते हैं! और प्रचंड धारा के समान दहाड़ते हैं!
Disaster is coming to the many nations that growl, growling like the raging sea! Disaster is coming to the peoples who roar, roaring like thundering waters!
13 जैसे पहाडों से भूसी और धूल उड़कर फैलती है, वैसे ही राज्य-राज्य के लोग बाढ़ में बहते हुए बिखर जाएंगे.
The nations roar like the roaring of crashing waves. But he confronts them, and they run far away, blown by the wind like chaff on the mountains, like tumbleweeds driven by a storm.
14 शाम को तो घबराहट होती है! परंतु सुबह वे गायब हो जाते हैं! यह उनके लिए है जिन्होंने हमें लूटा है, और इससे भी ज्यादा उनके लिए जिन्होंने हमें सताया है.
Sudden terror comes in the evening! By morning, they're gone! This is what happens to those who loot us, the fate of those who plunder us.
