होशे 8
1 “तुरही को अपने होंठों पर रखो! एक गरुड़ याहवेह के भवन के ऊपर है, क्योंकि लोगों ने मेरी वाचा को तोड़ दिया है और मेरे कानून का पालन नहीं किया है.
Set the cornet to thy mouth. [Let the enemy come] like the eagle against the house of the Lord: because they have transgressed my covenant, and against my law have they trespassed.
2 इस्राएल मुझसे पुकारकर कहता है, ‘हे हमारे परमेश्वर, हम आपको मानते हैं!’
To me will they then cry, My God, we, Israel, know thee.
3 पर इस्राएल ने भलाई को अस्वीकार किया है; शत्रु उसके पीछे पड़ेगा.
[But] Israel did reject the good; so let the enemy pursue him.
4 वे मेरी सहमति के बिना राजाओं को ठहराते हैं; वे मेरी स्वीकृति के बिना राजकुमारों को चुनते हैं. वे अपने सोना और चांदी से अपने विनाश के लिये मूर्तियां बनाते हैं.
They set up kings, but not my advice: they chose princes and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made themselves idols so that they will be cut off.
5 हे शमरिया, अपने बछड़े की मूर्ति को फेंक दो! मेरा क्रोध उनके विरुद्ध भड़कता है. वे कब तक शुद्धता के लिये अयोग्य ठहरेंगे?
Thy calf, O Samaria, hath caused thy rejection; my anger is kindled against them: how long will it be that they cannot cleanse themselves?
6 वे इस्राएल से हैं! यह बछड़ा—एक कारीगर ने इसे बनाया है; यह परमेश्वर नहीं है. उस शमरिया के बछड़े को टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दिया जाएगा.
For whom Israel did also that [idol] spring; an artisan made it, and no God is it: so then shall it become broken in splinters— that calf of Samaria.
7 “वे हवा बोते हैं, और बवंडर रूपी फसल काटते हैं. फसल के डंठल में बाली नहीं है; इससे आटा नहीं मिलेगा. यदि इससे अन्न पैदा होता, तो परदेशी इसे खा जाते.
For the wind do they sow, and the whirlwind shall they reap: [their seed] bringeth no standing corn; the plant yieldeth no meal; but should it yield it, strangers would swallow it up.
8 इस्राएल को निगल लिया गया है; अब वह अन्य जनताओं के बीच ऐसा है जिसे कोई नहीं चाहता.
Swallowed up is Israel: now are they among the nations as a vessel without any value.
9 क्योंकि वे एक भटके हुए जंगली गधे की तरह अश्शूर को चले गये हैं. एफ्राईम ने अपने आपको प्रेमियों के हाथ बेच दिया है.
For they are needs gone up to Assyria, they who like a wild ass should dwell alone: Ephraim spendeth lovers' gifts.
10 यद्यपि उन्होंने अपने आपको अन्यजातियों के बीच बेच दिया है, फिर भी अब मैं उनको एक साथ इकट्ठा करूंगा. शक्तिशाली राजा के सताव के कारण वे नाश होने लगेंगे.
But even though they should spend gifts among the nations, now will I gather them: and they shall be humbled a little through the burden of the king of princes.
11 “यद्यपि एफ्राईम ने पापबलि के लिए अनेक वेदियां बनाई हैं, पर ये वेदियां उनके पाप करने का कारण बन गई हैं.
Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, the altars have been unto him the means of sinning.
12 मैंने उनके लिये अपने कानून से संबंधित बहुत सी बातें लिखी, पर उन्होंने उन बातों को बाहर का समझा.
I ever wrote down for him the great things of my law; but as a strange thing are they accounted.
13 यद्यपि वे मुझे भेंट के रूप में बलिदान चढ़ाते हैं, और यद्यपि वे मांस खाते हैं, पर याहवेह उनसे खुश नहीं हैं. अब वह उनके दुष्ट कामों को याद करेंगे और उनके पापों के लिये दंड देंगे: वे मिस्र देश को लौटेंगे.
My sacrificial offerings they slay as common flesh that they may eat it; the Lord accepteth them not in favor: now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins; they shall indeed return to Egypt.
14 इस्राएल ने अपने बनानेवाले को भुला दिया है और महल बना लिये हैं; यहूदिया राज्य ने बहुत से नगरों का किलाबंदी कर लिया है. पर मैं उनके शहरों पर आग लगा दूंगा, और उनके गढ़ जलकर भस्म हो जाएंगे.”
For Israel forgot his Maker, and built palaces; and Judah multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire among his cities, and it shall devour their fine edifices.
