होशे 10

1 इस्राएल एक बढ़ने वाली अंगूर की लता थी; वह अपने लिये फल देती थी. जैसे जैसे उसके फल बढ़ते गये, उसने और ज्यादा वेदियां बनाई; जैसे जैसे उसका देश समृद्ध होता गया, उसने अपने पवित्र पत्थरों को सजाया.

Israel is a luxuriant vine, which putteth forth his fruit: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath multiplied his altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly pillars.

2 उनका हृदय धोखेबाज है, और अब वे ज़रूर दंड भोगेंगे. याहवेह उनकी वेदियों को ढहा देंगे और उनके पवित्र पत्थरों को नष्ट कर देंगे.

Their heart is divided; now shall they be found guilty: he shall smite their altars, he shall spoil their pillars.

3 तब वे कहेंगे, “हमारा कोई राजा नहीं है क्योंकि हमने याहवेह का आदर नहीं किया. पर यदि हमारा कोई राजा होता भी, तो वह हमारे लिये क्या करता?”

Surely now shall they say, We have no king: for we fear not the LORD; and the king, what can he do for us?

4 वे बहुत सी प्रतिज्ञाएं करते हैं, झूठी शपथ खाते हैं और सहमति बनाते हैं; इसलिये हल चलाये गये खेत में उगे जहरीले घास-पात के समान मुकदमे होने लगते हैं.

They speak [vain] words, swearing falsely in making covenants: therefore judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.

5 जो लोग शमरिया में रहते हैं वे बेथ-आवेन के बछड़े के कारण डरते हैं. इसके लोग इस पर विलाप करेंगे, और ऐसा ही इसके मूर्तिपूजक पुरोहित भी करेंगे, जो पहले इसके वैभव पर आनंदित हुआ करते थे, क्योंकि इसे उनसे छीनकर बंधुआई में ले लिया गया है.

The inhabitants of Samaria shall be in terror for the calves of Beth-aven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced over it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.

6 इसे बड़े राजा को भेंट स्वरूप देने के लिये अश्शूर ले जाया जाएगा. एफ्राईम लज्जित किया जाएगा; इस्राएल भी बाहरी लोगों से नाता के कारण लज्जित होगा.

It also shall be carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

7 शमरिया के राजा को ऐसे नष्ट किया जाएगा, जैसे एक छोटी शाखा पानी के बहाव में बहकर नष्ट हो जाती है.

[As for] Samaria, her king is cut off, as foam upon the water.

8 बुराई के ऊंचे स्थान नष्ट किए जाएंगे— यह इस्राएल का पाप है. उनकी इन वेदियों पर कंटीले पौधे और झाड़ियां उगकर उनकी वेदियों को ढांप लेंगी. तब वे पर्वतों से कहेंगे, “हमें ढांप लो!” और पहाड़ियों से कहेंगे, “हम पर आ गिरो!”

The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.

9 “हे इस्राएल, तुम गिबियाह के समय से पाप करते आये हो, और तुम अब भी उसी में बने हुए हो. क्या बुरे काम करनेवाले गिबियाह में फिर से युद्ध में नहीं फंसेंगे?

O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood; that the battle against the children of iniquity should not overtake them in Gibeah.

10 जब मेरी इच्छा होगी, मैं उन्हें दंड दूंगा; अन्य जातियां उनके दो गुने पाप के कारण, उन्हें बंधन में डालने के लिये उनके विरुद्ध इकट्ठा होंगी.

When it is my desire, I will chastise them; and the peoples shall be gathered against them, when they are bound to their two transgressions.

11 एफ्राईम एक प्रशिक्षित बछिया है जिसे अन्‍न दांवना अच्छा लगता है; इसलिये मैं उसके सुंदर गर्दन पर एक जूआ रखूंगा. मैं एफ्राईम को हांकूंगा, यहूदाह को हल चलाना ज़रूरी है, और याकोब को मिट्टी तोड़ना ज़रूरी है.

And Ephraim is an heifer that is taught, that loveth to tread out [the corn]; but I have passed over upon her fair neck: I will set a rider on Ephraim; Judah shall plow, Jacob shall break his clods.

12 अपने लिए धर्मीपन का बीज बोओ, निश्छल प्रेम की फसल काटो, और न जूते हुए भूमि की मिट्टी को तोड़ो; क्योंकि यह समय है कि याहवेह की खोज करो, जब तक कि वह आकर तुम पर धर्मीपन की वर्षा न करें.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

13 पर तुमने दुष्टता का रोपण किया है, और बुराई का फसल काटा है, तुमने छल-प्रपंच का फल खाया है. क्योंकि तुम अपने स्वयं के बल और अपने योद्धाओं की बड़ी संख्या पर निर्भर रहे हो,

Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: for thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

14 तुम्हारे लोगों के विरुद्ध युद्ध की ललकार होगी, ताकि तुम्हारे सब गढ़ों को नष्ट कर दिया जाए— जैसा कि युद्ध के समय में शलमन ने बेथ-आरबेल को नष्ट किया था, जब माताओं को उनके बच्चों सहित भूमि पर पटक कर मार डाला गया था.

Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces with her children.

15 हे बेथेल तुम्हारे साथ भी ऐसा ही होगा, क्योंकि तुम्हारी दुष्टता बहुत बड़ी है. जब उस दिन बड़ी सुबह इस्राएल के राजा को पूरी तरह नाश कर दिया जाएगा.

So shall Beth-el do unto you because of your great wickedness: at daybreak shall the king of Israel be utterly cut off.
