उत्पत्ति 9
1 तब परमेश्वर ने नोहा तथा उनके पुत्रों को यह आशीष दी, “फूलो फलो और पृथ्वी में भर जाओ.
So God blessed Noah and his sons, —and said to them Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth;
2 पृथ्वी के हर एक पशु एवं आकाश के हर एक पक्षी पर, भूमि पर रेंगनेवाले जंतु पर तथा समुद्र की समस्त मछलियों पर तुम्हारा भय बना रहेगा—ये सभी तुम्हारे अधिकार में कर दिए गए हैं.
and let the fear of you and the dread of you be upon every living creature of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens, —over everything that moveth along on the ground, and over all the fishes of the sea, —into your hand, have they been given.
3 सब चलनेवाले जंतु, जो जीवित हैं, तुम्हारा आहार होंगे; इस प्रकार मैं तुम्हें सभी कुछ दे रहा हूं, जिस प्रकार मैंने तुम्हें पेड़ पौधे दिए.
As for every moving thing that hath life, yours, shall it be, for food, —Like the green herb, have I given you all things.
4 “एक बात का ध्यान रखना कि मांस को लहू के साथ मत खाना.
Yet flesh with the life thereof, the blood thereof, shall ye not eat;
5 मैं तुम्हारे जीवन, अर्थात् लहू, का बदला ज़रूर लूंगा. मैं उस जानवर का जीवन मांगूंगा जो किसी व्यक्ति को मारेगा. प्रत्येक मनुष्य से दूसरे मनुष्य के खून का बदला ज़रूर लूंगा.
And surely your blood, of your lives, will I require, From the hand of every living creature, will I require it, —and from the hand of man From the hand of each one’s brother, will I require the life of man:
6 “जो कोई मनुष्य का रक्त बहाएगा, मनुष्य द्वारा ही उसका रक्त बहाया जाएगा; क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने अपने रूप में मनुष्य को बनाया है.
He that sheddeth man’s blood, by man, shall his blood be shed, —For, in the image of God, made he man.
7 अब तुम पृथ्वी में रहो; फूलो फलो और बढ़ो और बस जाओ.”
Ye, therefore, be fruitful and multiply, swarm in the earth and multiply therein.
8 फिर परमेश्वर ने नोहा तथा उनके पुत्रों से कहा:
And God spake unto Noah, and unto his sons with him saying:
9 “मैं तुम्हारे वंश के साथ पक्का वायदा करता हूं.
I, therefore, behold me! establishing my covenant with you, —and with your seed after you;
10 यही नहीं किंतु उन सबके साथ जो इस जहाज़ से बाहर आये हैं—पक्षी, पालतू पशु तथा तुम्हारे साथ पृथ्वी के हर एक पशु, से भी वायदा करता हूं.
and with every living soul that is with you, of birds, of tame-beasts and of all wild-beasts of the earth that are with you, —of all coming forth out of the ark, even to all wild-beasts of the earth;
11 मैं तुम्हारे साथ अपनी इस वाचा को पूरी करूंगा कि अब मैं जलप्रलय के द्वारा सभी प्राणियों और पृथ्वी को कभी नाश नहीं करूंगा.”
yea, I will establish my covenant with you, so that all flesh shall not be cut off any more, by reason of the waters of a flood, —neither shall there be any more a flood to destroy the earth.
12 परमेश्वर ने और कहा, “जो वायदा मैंने तुम्हारे साथ तथा तुम्हारे साथ के जीवित प्राणियों के साथ किया है, यह पीढ़ी से पीढ़ी तक स्थिर रहेगा और
And God said, This, is the sign of the covenant which I am granting betwixt me and you, and every living soul that is with you, —to age-abiding generations: —
13 इस बात का सबूत तुम बादलों में मेघधनुष के रूप में देखोगे, यही मेरे एवं पृथ्वी के बीच में वाचा का चिन्ह होगा.
My bow, have I set in the cloud, —and it shall be for a sign of a covenant, betwixt me and the earth;
14 जब मैं पृथ्वी के ऊपर बादल फैलाऊंगा और बादल में मेघधनुष दिखाई देगा,
and it shall be when I draw a veil of cloud over the earth, —and the bow in the cloud appeareth,
15 तब मैं अपने वायदे को याद करूंगा, जो मेरे और तुम्हारे बीच किया गया है कि अब कभी भी दुबारा पृथ्वी को इस तरह जलप्रलय से नाश नहीं करूंगा.
then will I remember my covenant which is betwixt me and you, and every living soul among all flesh, —that the waters may no more become a flood, to destroy all flesh:
16 जब भी यह मेघधनुष दिखेगा, मैं परमेश्वर और पृथ्वी पर रहनेवाले प्रत्येक प्राणी के बीच की हुई सनातन वाचा को याद करूंगा.”
so the bow shall be in the cloud, —and I will behold it, to remember an age-abiding covenant, between God, and every living soul among all flesh that is on the earth.
17 परमेश्वर ने नोहा से कहा, “जो वायदा मैंने अपने तथा पृथ्वी के हर एक जीवधारी के बीच किया है, यही उसका चिन्ह है.”
And God said unto Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which have established, between me and all flesh that is on the earth.
18 जहाज़ से नोहा के साथ उनके पुत्र शेम, हाम तथा याफेत बाहर आये. (हाम कनान का पिता था.)
And the sons of Noah who came forth out of the ark, were—Shem and Ham and Japheth, —now, Ham, was the father of Canaan.
19 ये नोहा के तीन पुत्र थे तथा इन्हीं के द्वारा फिर से पृथ्वी मनुष्य से भर गई.
These three, were the sons of Noah, —and from these, was all the earth overspread.
20 नोहा खेती करना शुरू किए, उन्होंने एक दाख की बारी लगाई.
And Noah began to be a husbandman, —so he planted a vineyard:
21 एक दिन नोहा दाखमधु पीकर नशे में हो गये और अपने तंबू में नंगे पड़े थे.
and dank of the wine and became drunk, and uncovered himself in the midst of his tent.
22 कनान के पिता हाम ने अपने पिता को इस हालत में देखकर अपने दोनों भाइयों को बुलाया.
And Ham the father of Canaan saw his father’s shame, —and told his two brethren outside.
23 शेम तथा याफेत ने एक वस्त्र लिया, और दोनों ने उल्टे पांव चलते हुए अपने पिता के नंगे देह को ढक दिया. इस समय उनके मुख विपरीत दिशा में थे, इसलिये उन्होंने अपने पिता के नंगेपन को न देखा.
And Shem and Japheth took a mantle, and put it on the shoulder of them both and went backwards, and covered the shame of their father, but their faces were backwards, and the shame of their father, saw they not.
24 जब नोहा का नशा उतर गया तब उन्हें पता चला कि उनके छोटे बेटे ने उनके साथ क्या किया है.
And Noah awoke from his wine, —and came to know what his youngest son had done to him.
25 और नोहा ने कहा, “शापित है कनान! वह अपने भाइयों के दासों का भी दास होगा.”
And he said, Accursed be Canaan, —a servant of servants, shall he be to his brethren!
26 नोहा ने यह भी कहा, “धन्य हैं याहवेह, शेम के परमेश्वर! कनान शेम का ही दास हो जाए.
And he said, Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem, —And let Canaan be their servant:
27 परमेश्वर याफेत के वंश को विस्तृत करे; वह शेम के तंबुओं में रहे, और कनान उसका दास हो जाए.”
God give extension to Japheth, But make his habitation in the tents of Shem, And let Canaan be their servant.
28 जलप्रलय के बाद नोहा 350 वर्ष और जीवित रहे.
And Noah lived after the flood, —three hundred and fifty years:
29 जब नोहा कुल 950 साल जीवित रहे, तब उनकी मृत्यु हो गई.
so, all the days of Noah, were—nine hundred and fifty years, —and he died.
