1 इन घटनाओं के बाद फारस के राजा अर्तहषस्ता के शासनकाल में एज़्रा बाबेल से लौट आए. एज़्रा सेराइयाह के पुत्र थे, सेराइयाह अज़रियाह का, अज़रियाह हिलकियाह का, हिलकियाह शल्लूम का,
Now, after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra, —son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah;
2 शल्लूम सादोक का, सादोक अहीतूब का, अहीतूब अमरियाह का,
son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub;
3 अमरियाह अज़रियाह का, अज़रियाह मेराइओथ का,
son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth;
4 मेराइओथ ज़ेराइयाह का, ज़ेराइयाह उज्जी का, उज्जी बुक्की का,
son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki;
5 बुक्की अबीशुआ का, अबीशुआ फिनिहास का, फिनिहास एलिएज़र का, एलिएज़र प्रमुख पुरोहित अहरोन का पुत्र था.
son of Abishua, son of Phinehas, son of Eliazar, son of Aaron the first priest; —
6 एज़्रा बाबेल से लौट आए. वह मोशेह को याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर के द्वारा सौंपी गई व्यवस्था के विशेषज्ञ थे. याहवेह, उनके परमेश्वर का आशीर्वाद एज़्रा पर बना हुआ था, तब राजा ने उन्हें वह सब दिया, जिस जिस वस्तु का उन्होंने मांगा था.
this Ezra, came up out of Babylon, he, being a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which Yahweh God of Israel had given, —and the king gave him, according to the hand of Yahweh his God upon him, all his request.
7 कुछ इस्राएली, कुछ पुरोहित, लेवी, गायक, द्वारपाल तथा भवन के कर्मचारी राजा अर्तहषस्ता के शासनकाल के सातवें वर्ष में येरूशलेम पहुंचे.
So then there came up some of the sons of Israel, and some of the priests and the Levites and the singers and the doorkeepers and the Nethinim, unto Jerusalem, —in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
8 स्वयं एज़्रा राजा के शासनकाल के सातवें वर्ष के पांचवें महीने में येरूशलेम पहुंचे.
And he entered Jerusalem, in the fifth month, —the same, was the seventh year of the king.
9 उन्होंने बाबेल से अपनी यात्रा पहले महीने के पहले दिन से शुरू की थी तथा वह पांचवें महीने के पहले दिन येरूशलेम पहुंच गए थे, क्योंकि उनके परमेश्वर की कृपादृष्टि उन पर बनी हुई थी.
For, on the first of the first month, was a beginning made of coming up from Babylon, —and, on the first of the fifth month, entered he into Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.
10 एज़्रा ने स्वयं को याहवेह की व्यवस्था के अध्ययन, स्वयं उसका पालन करने तथा इस्राएल राष्ट्र में याहवेह की विधियों और नियमों की शिक्षा देने के लिए समर्पित कर दिया था.
For, Ezra, had settled his heart, to study the law of Yahweh, and to do [it], —and to teach in Israel, statute and regulation.
11 पुरोहित, विधि-विशेषज्ञ, याहवेह द्वारा इस्राएल के लिए ठहराए गए उन आदेशों और विधियों में प्रशिक्षित एज़्रा को राजा अर्तहषस्ता ने जो राजा कि आज्ञा सौंपी थी उसकी नकल यह है:
Now, this, is a copy of the letter which King Artaxerxes gave, to Ezra the priest the scribe, —the scribe of the words of the commandments of Yahweh, and of his statutes, for Israel: —
12 अर्तहषस्ता, राजा की, ओर से एज़्रा को, जो पुरोहित और स्वर्ग के परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था के गुरु हैं, नमस्कार.
Artaxerxes, king of kings, Unto Ezra the priest, scribe of the law of the God of the heavens—To despatch and so forth.
13 मैंने इसी समय एक राजा की आज्ञा दी है, कि मेरे राज्य में इस्राएल देश का कोई भी नागरिक, उनके पुरोहित और लेवी यदि चाहें तो आपके साथ येरूशलेम जाने के लिए स्वतंत्र हैं.
From me, is issued an edict, that, every one in my kingdom, of the people of Israel, and of their priests and the Levites, who is minded of his own freewill to go to Jerusalem, with thee, let him go.
14 क्योंकि आप राजा द्वारा आपके ही परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था के अनुसार, जो आपके ही पास है, यहूदिया प्रदेश तथा येरूशलेम के विषय में पूछताछ करने के उद्देश्य से राजा के सात मंत्रियों के साथ वहां भेजे जा रहे हैं,
Forasmuch as, from before the king and his seven counselors, thou art sent, to enquire concerning Judah and as to Jerusalem, —by the law of thy God which is in thy hand;
15 कि आप अपने साथ राजा और उनके मंत्रियों द्वारा इस्राएल के परमेश्वर को, जिनका निवास येरूशलेम में है, भेंट में चढ़ाया जानेवाला सोना और चांदी भी ले जाएं.
and to carry the silver and gold which the king and his counselors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, who, in Jerusalem, hath his habitation;
16 आप वह सारा सोना और चांदी, जो आपको पूरे बाबेल राज्य में से मिलेगा और वे भेंटें, जो इस्राएली और उनके पुरोहित येरूशलेम में उनके परमेश्वर के भवन के और उनके पुरोहित येरूशलेम में उनके परमेश्वर के भवन के निमित्त देंगे, अपने साथ ले जाएंगे.
and all the silver and the gold, which thou shalt find, in all the province of Babylon, —with the freewill offering of the people and of the priests offered willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem,
17 तब इस धनराशि से आप बड़ी ही सावधानीपूर्वक बछड़े, मेढ़े तथा मेमने खरीदेंगे और उनकी अग्निबलियों तथा पेय बलियों को येरूशलेम में अपने परमेश्वर के भवन की वेदी पर चढ़ाएंगे.
therefore, with all diligence, shalt thou buy—with this silver—bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meal-offerings, and their drink-offerings, —and shalt offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem;
18 बचे हुए चांदी और सोने का उपयोग कैसे किया जाए, यह आप अपने परमेश्वर की इच्छा के अनुसार और अपने भाइयों की सहमति के अनुसार कर सकते हैं.
and, whatsoever, unto thee and unto thy brethren, shall seem good, with the rest of the silver and the gold, to do, according to the pleasure of your God, shall ye do.
19 इसके अलावा वे बर्तन, जो आपको आपके परमेश्वर के भवन में इस्तेमाल के लिए सौंपे गए हैं, आप उन सभी बर्तनों को येरूशलेम के परमेश्वर को सौंप देंगे.
And, the utensils which are freely given to thee for the service of the house of thy God, put thou back, before the God of Jerusalem.
20 तब आपके परमेश्वर के भवन के लिए, जो बाकी ज़रूरतें हैं, जिनको पूरा करना आपकी जवाबदारी है, उसको आप राजकीय खजाने से पूरा कर सकते हैं.
And, the rest of the need of the house of thy God, which it shall fall to thee to give, thou shalt give, out of the treasure-house of the king.
21 “मैं, हां मैं, राजा अर्तहषस्ता, सभी कोषाध्यक्षों के लिए, जो नदी के पार के प्रदेश के लिए चुने गए हैं, यह राज आज्ञा दे रहा हूं: स्वर्ग के परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था के विशेषज्ञ, पुरोहित एज़्रा की चाहे कोई भी ज़रूरत हो, उसको सावधानी के साथ पूरा किया जाए
And, from me myself, Artaxerxes the king, issueth an edict, to all the treasurers who are Beyond the River, —that, whatsoever Ezra the priest the scribe of the law of the God of the heavens shall ask of you, with diligence, shall it be done:
22 यहां तक, यदि वह एक सौ तालन्त चांदी, एक सौ कोर गेहूं, एक सौ बाथ दाखरस, एक सौ बाथ तेल, तथा नमक आवश्यकतानुसार.
unto a hundred talents of silver, and unto a hundred measures of wheat, and unto a hundred baths of wine, and unto a hundred baths of oil, —and salt without limit.
23 स्वर्ग के परमेश्वर द्वारा, जो कुछ भी आदेश दिया गया है, वह सब स्वर्ग के भवन के लिए बड़े उत्साह के साथ पूरा किया जाए, कि किसी भी रूप से राजा और उसके पुत्रों के साम्राज्य के विरोध में परमेश्वर का क्रोध न भड़कने पाए.
Whatsoever is due to an edict of the God of the heavens, let it be done diligently, for the house of the God of the heavens, —for wherefore should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
24 हम आपको यह भी बताना चाहते हैं, कि आप लोगों को पुरोहितों, लेवियों, गायकों, द्वारपालों, भवन के कर्मचारियों तथा परमेश्वर के इस भवन के दासों से न तो कर लेने की, न भेंटे ग्रहण करने की और न चुंगी लेने की अनुमति है.
And, you, we do certify, that, as touching any of the priests or the Levites, the singers, the doorkeepers, the Nethinim, or the servitors of this house of God, tribute, excise or toll, shall it not be competent to impose upon them.
25 “एज़्रा, आप, परमेश्वर के द्वारा मिली हुई अपनी बुद्धि के अनुसार न्यायी और दण्डाधिकारी चुन लीजिए, कि वे नदी के पार के प्रदेश में प्रजा के विवादों का न्याय करें-उनका भी, जो आपके परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था को जानते हैं. वे, जो व्यवस्था और विधियों को नहीं जानते हैं, आप उन्हें इनकी शिक्षा दे सकते हैं.
And, thou, Ezra, according to the wisdom of thy God that is in thy hand, appoint thou judges and magistrates, who shall administer justice to all the people that are Beyond the River, to all who know the law of thy God, —and, whoso knoweth not, ye shall teach.
26 जो कोई आपके परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था और राजा के नियमों को न माने, उसे कठोरता पूर्वक दंड दिया जाए, चाहे यह मृत्यु दंड हो, देश निकाला हो, संपत्ति ज़ब्त करना हो या कैद.”
But, whosoever shall not do the law of thy God and the law of the king, speedily, let, penalty, be exacted from him, —whether to death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.
27 स्तुति के योग्य हैं याहवेह, हमारे पुरखों के परमेश्वर, जिन्होंने महाराज के हृदय में इस विषय का विचार दिया, कि येरूशलेम में याहवेह का भवन संवारा जाए,
Blessed be Yahweh, God of our fathers, —who hath put the like of this into the heart of the king, to beautify the house of Yahweh, which is in Jerusalem;
28 धन्य हैं याहवेह, जिन्होंने मुझे महाराज तथा उनके मंत्रियों तथा उनके बड़े-बड़े हाकिमों की दृष्टि में अपनी कृपा से भर दिया है. इसलिये याहवेह, मेरे परमेश्वर की कृपादृष्टि मुझ पर होने के कारण मुझे बल मिल गया. तब मैंने इस्राएलियों में से ऐसे व्यक्ति चुन लिए, जो मेरे साथ हाथ बंटाने के लिए येरूशलेम लौट सकें.
and, unto me, hath extended lovingkindness, before the king and his counselors, yea all the valiant captains of the king, —I, therefore have emboldened myself, according to the hand of Yahweh my God upon me, and gathered out of Israel, chief men, to go up with me.
