एज्रा 10

1 जब एज़्रा परमेश्वर के भवन के सामने भूमि पर दंडवत कर प्रार्थना करते हुए पाप स्वीकार करते हुए रो रहे थे, इस्राएल के पुरुषों, स्त्रियों एवं बालकों की एक बहुत बड़ी भीड़ उनके पास इकट्ठी हो चुकी थी. वे सभी फूट-फूटकर रो रहे थे.

Whiles Ezra prayed thus, and confessed himselfe weeping, and falling downe before the house of God, there assembled vnto him of Israel a very great Congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept with a great lamentation.

2 एलाम कुल के येहिएल के पुत्र शेकानियाह ने एज़्रा से कहा, “हम अपने परमेश्वर के प्रति विश्वासयोग्य नहीं रहे हैं और हमने इस देश के लोगों में से विदेशी स्त्रियों से विवाह कर लिया है. यह सब होने पर भी इस्राएल के लिए अब एक ही आशा बची है.

Then Shechaniah the sonne of Iehiel one of the sonnes of Elam answered, and sayd to Ezra, We haue trespassed against our God, and haue taken strange wiues of the people of the land, yet nowe there is hope in Israel concerning this.

3 इसलिये अब आइए हम अपने परमेश्वर से वाचा बांधें तथा अपनी सभी पत्नियों तथा उनसे पैदा बालकों को छोड़ दें-जैसा कि मेरे प्रधान तथा उनका जिन्हें परमेश्वर के इस आदेश के प्रति पूर्ण विश्वास है, उनकी सलाह है. यह सब व्यवस्था के अनुसार ही पूरा किया जाए.

Now therfore let vs make a couenant with our God, to put away all the wiues (and such as are borne of them) according to the counsell of the Lord, and of those that feare the commandements of our God, and let it be done according to the Lawe.

4 आप तैयार हो जाइए! क्योंकि यह अब आपकी ही जवाबदारी है. हम आपके साथ हैं. आप साहस के साथ इसको कीजिए.”

Arise: for the matter belogeth vnto thee: we also wil be with thee: be of comfort and do it.

5 यह सुन एज़्रा उठे तथा सभी अगुए पुरोहितों, लेवियों तथा सारे इस्राएल को यह शपथ लेने के लिए प्रेरित किया कि वे इस प्रस्ताव के अनुसार ही करेंगे. इसलिये उन्होंने यह शपथ ली.

Then arose Ezra, and caused the chiefe Priestes, the Leuites, and all Israel, to sweare that they would doe according to this worde. So they sware.

6 तब एज़्रा परमेश्वर के भवन के सामने से उठे और एलियाशिब के पुत्र येहोहानन के कमरे में चले गए. वह उस कमरे में चले ज़रूर गए मगर उन्होंने वहां न कुछ खाया और न कुछ पिया; क्योंकि वह निकाले गए लोगों द्वारा किए गए इस विश्वासघात के लिए दुःखी थे.

And Ezra rose vp from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Iohanan the sonne of Eliashib: he went euen thither, but he did eate neither bread, nor drunke water: for he mourned, because of the transgression of them of the captiuitie.

7 उन सभी ने सारे यहूदिया तथा येरूशलेम में निकालकर लाए लोगों के लिए यह घोषणा की, कि उन्हें येरूशलेम में इकट्ठा होना है,

And they caused a proclamation to goe throughout Iudah and Ierusalem, vnto all them of the captiuitie, that they should assemble themselues vnto Ierusalem.

8 तथा जो कोई प्रधानों और प्राचीनों की सलाह के अनुसार तीन दिनों के भीतर वहां उपस्थित न होगा, उसकी सारी संपत्ति ज़ब्त कर ली जाएगी तथा स्वयं उसे बंधुआई से निकल आए लोगों की सभा से निकाल दिया जाएगा.

And whosoeuer woulde not come within three dayes according to the counsel of the Princes and Elders, all his substance should be forfait, and he should be separate from the Congregation of them of the captiuitie.

9 तब यहूदिया तथा बिन्यामिन के सारे पुरुष तीन दिनों के अंदर येरूशलेम में इकट्ठा होने को गए. यह अवसर था नवें महीने की बीसवीं तारीख का. सभी इस अवसर पर परमेश्वर के भवन के सामने खुले आंगन में बैठे हुए थे. इस विषय के कारण वे भयभीत थे तथा मूसलाधार बारिश भी हो रही थी, तब उन पर कंपकंपी छाई हुई थी.

Then all the men of Iudah and Beniamin assembled theselues vnto Ierusalem within three dayes, which was the twentieth day of the ninth moneth, and all the people sate in the streete of the house of God, trembling for this matter, and for the raine.

10 पुरोहित एज़्रा खड़े हो गए तथा उन्हें संबोधित करने लगे, “आप लोगों ने विश्वासघात किया और विदेशी स्त्रियों से विवाह करने के द्वारा आपने इस्राएल पर दोष बढ़ा दिया है.

And Ezra the Priest stoode vp, and said vnto them, Ye haue transgressed, and haue taken strange wiues, to increase the trespasse of Israel.

11 तब यही मौका है कि आप लोग याहवेह अपने पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर के सामने अपने पाप स्वीकार करें, तथा उनकी संतुष्टि के लिए उपयुक्त कदम उठाएं. स्वयं को इस देश के मूल निवासियों से तथा विदेशी स्त्रियों से अलग कर लीजिए.”

Now therefore giue praise vnto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his will, and separate your selues from the people of the land, and from the strange wiues.

12 ऊंची आवाज में उपस्थित भीड़ ने घोषणा की, “जो आज्ञा! जो कुछ आपने कहा है हम वही करेंगे.

And all the Congregation answered, and sayd with a loude voyce, So will we do according to thy wordes vnto vs.

13 किंतु हम लोगों की संख्या बड़ी है, फिर यह बरसात ऋतु है, तब हम खुले में खड़े न रह सकेंगे. इसके अलावा यह काम ऐसा नहीं, जो एक अथवा दो दिनों में पूरा हो जाए, क्योंकि हमारे पाप बहुत ही भयंकर हो चुके है.

But the people are many, and it is a raynie weather, and we are not able to stande without, neither is it the worke of one day or two: for we are many that haue offended in this thing.

14 हमारे प्रधान सारी सभा की अगुवाई करें तथा वे सभी नगरवासी जिनकी विदेशी पत्नियां हैं, निर्धारित अवसर पर हर एक नगर के प्राचीनों एवं न्यायाध्यक्षों के साथ यहां आ जाएं, कि इस विषय के कारण हमारे परमेश्वर का यह भड़का हुआ क्रोध हम पर से शांत हो जाए.”

Let our rulers stand therefore before all the Congregation, and let all them which haue taken strange wiues in our cities, come at the time appoynted, and with them the Elders of euery citie and the Iudges thereof, til the fierce wrath of our God for this matter turne away from vs.

15 इस प्रस्ताव का विरोध सिर्फ दो व्यक्तियों ने किया: आसाहेल के पुत्र योनातन तथा तिकवाह के पुत्र याहाज़िएल. लेवी शब्बेथाइ ने इन दोनों का समर्थन किया.

Then were appoynted Ionathan the sonne of Asah-el, and Iahaziah the sonne of Tikuah ouer this matter, and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Leuites helped them.

16 उन सभी बंधुआई से आए लोगों ने एज़्रा द्वारा सुझाई गई योजना का समर्थन किया. पुरोहित एज़्रा ने नामों का उल्लेख करते हुए पितरों के प्रधानों को चुना. ये सभी दसवें महीने के पहले दिन इस विषय से संबंधित सच्चाईयों का परीक्षण करने इकट्ठा हो गए.

And they of the captiuitie did so, and departed, euen Ezra the Priest, and the men that were chiefe fathers to the familie of their fathers by name, and sate downe in the first day of the tenth moneth to examine the matter.

17 विदेशी स्त्रियों से विवाहित सभी पुरुषों का परीक्षण पहले महीने की पहली तारीख पर पूरा हो गया.

And vntill the first day of the first moneth they were finishing the businesse with al the men that had taken strange wiues.

18 पुरोहितों के उन पुत्रों में से वे, जिन्होंने विदेशी स्त्रियों से विवाह कर लिया था: ये थे योज़ादक का पुत्र येशुआ तथा उसके भाई: मआसेइयाह, एलिएज़र, यारिब तथा गेदालियाह.

And of the sonnes of the Priests there were men founde, that had taken strange wiues, to wit, of the sonnes of Ieshua, the sonne of Iozadak, and of his brethren, Maaseiah, Aeliezer, and Iarib and Gedaliah.

19 उन्होंने शपथ ली कि वे अपनी पत्नियों को छोड़ देंगे. तब इसलिये कि वे दोषी थे, उन्होंने भेड़-बकरियों में से इस दोष से छूटने के लिए एक मेढ़े की बलि चढ़ाई.

And they gaue their hads, that they would put away their wiues, and they that had trespassed, gaue a ramme for their trespasse.

20 इम्मर के पुत्रों में से थे: हनानी तथा ज़ेबादिया.

And of the sonnes of Immer, Honani, and Zebadiah.

21 हारिम के पुत्रों में से थे: मआसेइयाह, एलियाह, शेमायाह, येहिएल तथा उज्जियाह.

And of the sonnes of Harim, Maaseiah, and Eliiah, and Shemaiah, and Iehiel, and Vzziah.

22 पशहूर के पुत्रों में से: एलिओएनाइ, मआसेइयाह, इशमाएल, नेथानेल, योज़ाबाद तथा एलासाह.

And of ye sonnes of Pashur, Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Iozabad, and Elasah.

23 लेवियों में से थे: योज़ाबाद, शिमेई, केलाइयाह (अर्थात्, केलिता), पेथाइयाह, यहूदाह तथा एलिएज़र.

And of the Leuites, Iozabad and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (which is Kelitah) Pethahiah, Iudah and Eliezer.

24 गायकवृन्दों में से था: एलियाशिब; द्वारपालों में शल्लूम, तेलेम तथा उरी.

And of the singers, Eliashib. And of the porters, Shallum, and Telem, and Vri.

25 इस्राएल में पारोश के पुत्रों में से थे: रामियाह, इज्ज़ियाह, मालखियाह, मियामिन, एलिएज़र, मालखियाह तथा बेनाइयाह.

And of Israel: of the sonnes of Parosh, Ramiah, and Iesiah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchiiah, and Benaiah.

26 एलाम के वंशजों में से थे: मत्तनियाह, ज़करयाह, येहिएल, अबदी, येरेमोथ तथा एलियाह.

And of the sonnes of Elam, Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Iehiel, and Abdi, and Ieremoth, and Eliah.

27 ज़त्तू के पुत्रों में से थे: एलिओएनाइ, एलियाशिब, मत्तनियाह, येरेमोथ, ज़ाबाद तथा आजिजा.

And of the sonnes of Zattu, Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Ierimoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.

28 बेबाइ के पुत्रों में से थे: येहोहानन, हननियाह, ज़ब्बाई तथा अथलाइ.

And of the sonnes of Bebai, Iehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.

29 बानी के पुत्रों में से थे: मेशुल्लाम, मल्‍लूख तथा अदाइयाह याशूब, शेअल तथा येरेमोथ.

And of the sonnes of Bani, Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Iashub, and Sheal, Ieramoth.

30 पाहाथ-मोआब के पुत्रों में से थे: आदना, चेलल, बेनाइयाह मआसेइयाह, मत्तनियाह, बसलेल, बिन्‍नूइ तथा मनश्शेह.

And of the sonnes of Pahath Moab, Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.

31 हारिम के पुत्रों में से थे: एलिएज़र, इश्शियाह, मालखियाह, शेमायाह, शिमओन,

And of the sonnes of Harim, Eliezer, Ishiiah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,

32 बिन्यामिन, मल्‍लूख तथा शेमारियाह.

Beniamin, Malluch, Shamariah.

33 हाषूम के पुत्रों में से थे: मत्तेनाइ, मत्तात्ताह ज़ाबाद, एलिफेलेत, येरेमाई, मनश्शेह तथा शिमेई.

Of the sonnes of Hashum, Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Ieremai, Manasseh, Shimei.

34 बानी के पुत्रों में से थे: मआघई, अमराम, उएल,

Of the sonnes of Bani, Maadai, Amram, and Vel,

35 बेनाइयाह, बेदेइयाह, चेलुही,

Banaiah, Bediah, Chelluh,

36 वानियाह, मेरेमोथ, एलियाशिब,

Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,

37 मत्तनियाह, मत्तेनाइ, यआसु

Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Iaasau,

38 बानी, बिन्‍नूइ के पुत्रों में से थे: शिमेई,

And Banni, and Bennui, Shimei,

39 शेलेमियाह, नाथान अदाइयाह,

And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,

40 माखनादेबाइ, शाशाई, शाराई,

Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,

41 अज़ारेल, शेलेमियाह, शेमारियाह

Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,

42 शल्लूम, अमरियाह तथा योसेफ़.

Shallum, Amariah, Ioseph.

43 नेबो के पुत्रों में से थे: येइएल, मत्तीथियाह, ज़ाबाद, ज़ेबिना, यद्दाइ, योएल तथा बेनाइयाह.

Of the sonnes of Nebo, Ieiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Iadau, and Ioel, Benaiah.

44 इन सभी ने विदेशी स्त्रियों से विवाह किया था तथा इनमें से कुछ के इन स्त्रियों से संतान भी पैदा हुई थी.

All these had taken strange wiues: and among them were women that had children.
