एज्रा 1
1 फारस के राजा कोरेश के शासन के पहले साल में येरेमियाह द्वारा कही गई याहवेह की भविष्यवाणी पूरी करने के उद्देश्य से याहवेह ने फारस के राजा की आत्मा को उभारा. फलस्वरूप उसने सभी राज्य में यह लिखित घोषणा करवा दी:
And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Jehovah from the mouth of Jeremiah, hath Jehovah waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causeth an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,
2 “फारस के राजा कोरेश का आदेश यह है: “‘याहवेह ने, जो स्वर्ग के परमेश्वर हैं, मुझे सारी पृथ्वी के राज्यों पर अधिकार दिया है, उन्होंने ही मुझे येरूशलेम नगर में, जो यहूदिया प्रदेश में है, उनके लिए एक भवन बनाने के लिए चुना है.
'Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, God of the heavens, given to me, and He hath laid a charge on me to build to Him a house in Jerusalem, that [is] in Judah;
3 आप लोगों में से जो कोई याहवेह की प्रजा में से है, आपके परमेश्वर आपके साथ रहे! आप यहूदिया प्रदेश के येरूशलेम को जाएं तथा याहवेह इस्राएल के परमेश्वर के लिए इस भवन को दोबारा बनाएं. यह वही परमेश्वर हैं, जो येरूशलेम में हैं.
who [is] among you of all His people? His God is with him, and he doth go up to Jerusalem, that [is] in Judah, and build the house of Jehovah, God of Israel — He [is] God — that [is] in Jerusalem.
4 किसी भी स्थान पर, परमेश्वर के किसी भी जन को, यदि वह अब तक जीवित है, उस स्थान के नागरिक चांदी, सोना, अन्य वस्तुएं, पशु एवं स्वेच्छा से भेंटे देकर येरूशलेम में परमेश्वर के भवन को बनाने के लिए उसकी सहायता करें.’”
'And every one who is left, of any of the places where he [is] a sojourner, assist him do the men of his place with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, along with a free-will offering for the house of God, that [is] in Jerusalem.'
5 तब यहूदाह एवं बिन्यामिन के कुलों के प्रधान, पुरोहित तथा लेवी तैयार हो गए, हर एक वह, जिस किसी के हृदय को परमेश्वर ने उकसाया कि येरूशलेम में याहवेह के भवन को दोबारा से बनाएं.
And heads of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin rise, and the priests and the Levites, even every one whose spirit God hath waked, to go up to build the house of Jehovah, that [is] in Jerusalem;
6 उनके पड़ोसियों ने उन्हें चांदी, सोना, अन्य सामग्री; कीमती वस्तुएं, पशु देकर प्रोत्साहित किया तथा इनके अलावा उन्होंने इन्हें अपनी इच्छा से भेंटे भी दे दी.
and all those round about them have strengthened [them] with their hands, with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, apart from all that hath been offered willingly.
7 साथ ही राजा कोरेश याहवेह के भवन की वस्तुएं भी निकाल लाया, जो नबूकदनेज्ज़र येरूशलेम से ले आया था और अपने देवताओं के भवन में रख दिया था.
And the king Cyrus hath brought out the vessels of the house of Jehovah that Nebuchadnezzar hath brought out of Jerusalem, and putteth them in the house of his gods;
8 फारस के राजा कोरेश के खजांची मिथरेदाथ के द्वारा इन बर्तनों को मंगवाया तथा यहूदिया के शासक शेशबाज्ज़र के सामने इनकी गिनती कर दी.
yea, Cyrus king of Persia bringeth them out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbereth them to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah.
9 इन बर्तनों की संख्या इस प्रकार थी: सोने की चिलमचियां 30 चांदी की चिलमचियां 1,000 दूसरे कटोरे 29
And this [is] their number: dishes of gold thirty, dishes of silver a thousand, knives nine and twenty,
10 सोने की कटोरियां 30 समान चांदी की कटोरियां 410 अलग-अलग बर्तन 1,000
basins of gold thirty, basins of silver (seconds) four hundred and ten, other vessels a thousand.
11 सोने और चांदी के कुल बर्तनों की संख्या 5,400 थी. शेशबाज्ज़र इन सभी को उन बंदियों के साथ बाबेल से येरूशलेम ले आया.
All the vessels of gold and of silver [are] five thousand and four hundred; the whole hath Sheshbazzar brought up with the going up of the removal from Babylon to Jerusalem.
