एस्तेर 6
1 उस रात राजा को नींद नहीं आई, तब उसने आदेश दिया, कि इतिहास की पुस्तक लायी जाए, कि उसे राजा के सामने वाचन किया जाए.
In that night sleep fled from the king, and he ordered to bring in the book of the memorable events of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.
2 वहां पुस्तक में यह बात सामने आयी, कि राजा के दो द्वारपाल खोजा, बिगथान एवं तेरेश का राजा अहषवेरोष की हत्या का षड़्यंत्र मोरदकय द्वारा सूचित किया गया था.
And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Theresh, two chamberlains of the king, of those who kept the door, who had sought to lay [their] hand on king Achashverosh.
3 राजा ने पूछा, “मोरदकय को इसके लिए कौन सा सम्मान अथवा पुरस्कार दिया गया?” राजा के परिचाराकों ने उत्तर दिया. “कुछ भी नहीं किया गया है, उसके लिए.”
And the king said, What honor and distinction have been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's young men, his servants, There hath nothing been done with him.
4 राजा ने पूछा, “कौन है इस समय आंगन में?” हुआ यह था, कि हामान ने इसी समय राजमहल परिसर के बाहर के आंगन में प्रवेश किया था, कि वह राजा से मोरदकय को उस स्तंभ पर लटकाने की चर्चा कर सके, जो उसने मोरदकय के लिए बनवाया था.
And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outer court of the king's house, to say unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows which he had prepared for him.
5 राजा के अधिकारियों ने उसे सूचित किया, “महाराज, हामान आंगन में ठहरे हुए हैं.” राजा ने आदेश दिया, “उसे यहां आने दो.”
And the king's young men said unto him, Behold, Haman is standing in the court. And the king said, Let him come in.
6 हामान भीतर आ गया. राजा ने उससे प्रश्न किया, “यह बताओ, यदि राजा किसी व्यक्ति को सम्मान प्रदान करना चाहे, तो इसके लिए क्या-क्या उपयुक्त होगा?” हामान के मन में विचार आया: “मेरे अतिरिक्त राजा भला किसे सम्मानित करना चाहेंगे?”
So Haman came in; and the king said unto him, What shall be done with the man whom the king desireth to honor? And Haman said in his heart, To whom would the king desire to do honor more than to myself?
7 हामान ने राजा को उत्तर दिया, “राजा जिस व्यक्ति को सम्मान करना चाहें,
Haman therefore said to the king, [For] the man whom the king desireth to honor,
8 उसके लिए वही राजसी पोशाक लाया जाए, जो स्वयं राजा पहना करते हैं, उसे वही घोड़ा दिया जाए, जिसका प्रयोग स्वयं राजा करते हैं, तथा उसके सिर पर राजसी मुकुट भी रखा जाए;
Let them bring a royal apparel which the king hath worn, and a horse on which the king hath ridden, and let there be placed a royal crown on his head.
9 यह राजसी पोशाक एवं घोड़ा राजा के सर्वोच्च शासक को सौंपा जाए कि वह यह राजसी वस्त्र उस व्यक्ति को पहना दे, जिसे राजा आदर करना चाहते हैं. तब उस व्यक्ति को घोड़े पर सवार किया जाए और उसे इस तरह से नगर चौक में लेकर घुमाया जाए. यह करते हुए उसके आगे-आगे यह घोषणा की जाए: ‘राजा जिस व्यक्ति को आदर करना चाहते हैं, उसके साथ यही किया जाएगा.’”
And let the apparel and the horse be given into the hand of one of the king's princes, of the most noble, that they may array the man whom the king desireth to honor, and let them cause him to ride on the horse through the streets of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall be done to the man whom the king desireth to honor.
10 राजा ने हामान को आदेश दिया, “तुरंत वे राजसी वस्त्र तथा घोड़ा लो, जैसा सुझाव अभी तुमने रखा है और यहूदी मोरदकय के साथ वह सब करो, जो इस समय राजमहल के परिसर के द्वार पर बैठा हुआ है. तुमने जैसा जैसा सुझाव रखा है, उसमें कोई कमी न आने पाए.”
Then said the king to Haman, Make haste, take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast spoken, and do thus to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: leave out nothing of all that thou hast spoken.
11 तब हामान ने राजसी पोशाक, वस्त्र लिया और घोड़ा लिया. उसने मोरदकय को वह राजसी पोशाक, वस्त्र पहनाया और उसे घोड़े पर सवार करके नगर चौक में घुमाया. वह उसके आगे-आगे यह घोषणा किये जा रहे थे: “उस व्यक्ति के साथ ऐसा ही किया जाएगा, जिसका राजा आदर करना चाहते हैं.”
And Haman then took the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and caused him to ride through the streets of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall be done unto the man whom the king desireth to honor.
12 मोरदकय तो राजमहल परिसर द्वार पर लौट गया; किंतु हामान तुरंत अपने घर को विलाप करता अपने सिर को ढांप कर लौट गया.
And Mordecai thereupon returned to the king's gate; but Haman hastened to his house, mourning, and having his head covered.
13 उसने अपनी पत्नी ज़ेरेष तथा अपने मित्रों को उसके साथ जो हुआ सब कुछ कह सुनाया. यह सुन उसकी पत्नी ज़ेरेष तथा उसके बुद्धिमान दोस्तों ने उसे चेतावनी दी, “यदि मोरदकय, जिसके सामने तुम्हारे पतन की शुरुआत हो चुकी है, यहूदी मूल का है, जब तक तुम उसे पराजित न कर पाओगे-तुम्हारा पतन सुनिश्चित है.”
And Haman related to Zeresh his wife and to all his friends all that had befallen him: then said unto him his wise men and Zeresh his wife, If Mordecai, before whom thou hast begun to fall, be of the seed of the Jews, thou wilt not prevail against him, but thou wilt surely fall before him.
14 जब उनके मध्य यह वार्तालाप चल रहा था, वहां राजा के खोजा आ पहुंचे और हामान को तत्काल अपने साथ उस भोज के लिए ले गए, जिसे एस्तेर ने तैयार किया था.
They were yet speaking with him, when the king's chamberlains arrived, and they hastened to bring Haman unto the banquet which Esther had prepared.
