व्यवस्था विवरण 22

1 तुम अपने इस्राएली भाई के किसी बैल अथवा भेड़ को भटकते देखकर उसकी उपेक्षा नहीं करोगे. निश्चयतः तुम उसे उसके स्वामी के घर पर छोड़ दोगे.

Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.

2 यदि वह इस्राएली तुम्हारे निकट नहीं रहता, अथवा यदि तुम उससे परिचित नहीं हो, तब तुम उस पशु को अपने ही घर पर ले आओगे और वह उस समय तक तुम्हारी देखरेख में रहेगा, जब तक उसका स्वामी उसकी खोज करता हुआ तुम्हारे घर तक न आ पहुंचे. तब तुम उसे लौटा दोगे.

And if thy brother [be] not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.

3 यही तुम उसके गधे के साथ, उसके वस्त्र के साथ, उसकी किसी भी खोई हुई वस्तु के साथ करोगे, जो तुम्हें प्राप्‍त हो गई है. तुम इनकी अनदेखी न करो.

In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brother’s, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide thyself.

4 यदि तुम्हारे किसी स्वदेशी का गधा अथवा बैल मार्ग में गिर पड़ा है, तो तुम उसकी उपेक्षा नहीं करोगे. तुम्हें उन्हें उठाकर खड़ा करने में सहायता करनी ही होगी.

Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift [them] up again.

5 कोई भी स्त्री-पुरुष के वस्त्र धारण नहीं करेगी और न ही कोई पुरुष स्त्री के; क्योंकि जो कोई यह करता है, याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के लिए घृणित है.

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so [are] abomination unto the LORD thy God.

6 यदि तुम्हें मार्ग में किसी वृक्ष में अथवा भूमि पर किसी पक्षी का नीड़ मिल जाए, जिसमें उसके चूज़े अथवा अंडे हों, और माता पक्षी उन चूज़ों अथवा अण्डों को सहेजे बैठी हो,

If a bird’s nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, [whether they be] young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:

7 तुम उस माता पक्षी को उसके चूज़ों से अलग नहीं करोगे, ताकि तुम्हारा भला हो और तुम्हारी उम्र बहुत बढ़ जाए.

[But] thou shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and [that] thou mayest prolong [thy] days.

8 जब तुम नए घर का निर्माण करो, तो तुम अपने लिए छत के लिए एक मुण्डेर ज़रूर बनवाना, जिससे कि तुम खुद पर हत्या का दोष न ले आओ, यदि कोई छत से नीचे आ गिरे.

When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence.

9 अपने अंगूर के बगीचे में तुम दो विभिन्‍न प्रकार के बीजों को नहीं बोओगे, नहीं तो उन दोनों बीजों की समग्र उपज दूषित हो जाएगी.

Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.

10 अपने हल में तुम बैल और गधे को साथ साथ नहीं जोतोगे.

Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.

11 तुम ऐसा वस्त्र धारण नहीं करोगे, जो ऊन और सन के मिश्रण से तैयार किया गया है.

Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, [as] of woollen and linen together.

12 तुम अपने बाहरी वस्त्र के चारों कोनों पर फुन्दनों को बनाया करोगे.

Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest [thyself].

13 यदि कोई पुरुष विवाह करता, पत्नी से शारीरिक संबंध करता और उससे अलग हो जाता है,

If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,

14 इसके बाद उस पर निंदनीय कामों का आरोप लगाता है; यहां तक कि वह सार्वजनिक रूप से उस पर ये सारे लांछन भी लगाने लगता है, “मैंने इस स्त्री से विवाह किया मगर संबंध के समय पर मुझे उसमें कुंवारीपन के कोई लक्षण प्राप्‍त न हुए.”

And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:

15 तब कन्या के माता-पिता कन्या के कुंवारीपन का सबूत लेकर नगर प्रवेश पर नगर पुरनियों के सामने प्रस्तुत करेंगे.

Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth [the tokens of] the damsel’s virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:

16 कन्या का पिता पुरनियों से कहेगा, “मैंने इस पुरुष से अपनी पुत्री का विवाह किया, मगर वह उसे अप्रिय लगने लगी है.

And the damsel’s father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;

17 यह भी देखिए कि वह हमारी पुत्री पर लज्जास्पद लांछन लगा रहा है! वह यहां तक घोषित कर रहा है मुझे आपकी पुत्री में कुंवारीपन का चिह्न प्राप्‍त नहीं हुआ.” मगर यह देखिए: यह है हमारी पुत्री के कुंवारीपन का सबूत. माता-पिता उस वस्त्र को उन पुरनियों के सामने फैला देंगे,

And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech [against her], saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these [are the tokens of] my daughter’s virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

18 फिर नगर पुरनिए उस व्यक्ति को प्रताड़ित करेंगे.

And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;

19 वे उस पुरुष पर चांदी के एक सौ शेकेल का जुर्माना आरोपित करेंगे, जिसे लेकर वे उस कन्या के पिता को सौंप देंगे. कारण यह है कि उस पुरुष ने इस्राएल की उस कुंवारी कन्या को सार्वजनिक रूप से कलंकित किया है. वह आजीवन उसकी पत्नी रहेगी, उनका तलाक कभी न होगा.

And they shall amerce him in an hundred [shekels] of silver, and give [them] unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

20 मगर यदि इसके विपरीत उस पुरुष का यह आरोप सत्य साबित हो जाता है, वह कन्या कुंवारी नहीं थी,

But if this thing be true, [and the tokens of] virginity be not found for the damsel:

21 तब वे उस कन्या को उसके पिता के घर के द्वार पर लाएंगे और उस नगर के पुरुष उसको पथराव करके मार डालेंगे, क्योंकि उसने इस्राएल में यह अनाचार किया और अपने पिता के घर में ही वेश्यावृत्ति की है. यह करने के द्वारा तुम अपने बीच से बुराई को दूर कर दोगे.

Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

22 यदि कोई पुरुष किसी दूसरे व्यक्ति की पत्नी के साथ संबंध बनाते हुए पाया जाए, तो दोनों ही मृत्यु दंड के योग्य हैं; वह पुरुष, जो उस स्त्री से संबंध बना रहा था और वह स्त्री भी. उस प्रकार तुम इस्राएल में से बुराई को दूर करोगे.

If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, [both] the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

23 यदि किसी कुंवारी कन्या जिसकी सगाई हो चुकी है, उससे कोई अन्य पुरुष नगर सीमा के भीतर ही संबंध बनाता है,

If a damsel [that is] a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

24 तब तुम उन दोनों को नगर फाटक से बाहर ले जाओगे और दोनों ही को पथराव करके मार दोगे; कन्या का इसलिये कि उसने नगर में होने पर भी सहायता की गुहार नहीं लगाई और पुरुष का इसलिये कि उसने पड़ोसी की स्त्री का शीलभंग किया है. यह करके तुम अपने बीच से अनिष्ट का बहिष्कार कर दोगे.

Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, [being] in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

25 मगर इसके विपरीत यदि कोई पुरुष किसी विवाह के लिये वचनबद्ध जवान स्त्री को बाहर खेत में पाकर उसके साथ साथ बलात्कार करता है, तो उस पुरुष को मृत्यु दंड दिया जाए.

But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:

26 उस कन्या को कोई दंड न दिया जाए; उसने मृत्यु दंड के योग्य कोई अनाचार नहीं किया है. यह स्थिति वैसी है, जिसमें मानो किसी व्यक्ति ने घात लगाकर अपने पड़ोसी की हत्या कर दी हो,

But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; [there is] in the damsel no sin [worthy] of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so [is] this matter:

27 जब खेत में उसने उस अकेली कुंवारी कन्या को पाया, उसने तो सहायता की गुहार लगाई थी, मगर उसकी रक्षा के लिए वहां कोई भी न था.

For he found her in the field, [and] the betrothed damsel cried, and [there was] none to save her.

28 यदि कोई पुरुष ऐसी कुंवारी को पाता है, जिसकी सगाई नहीं हुई है, वह उसे पकड़कर उससे संबंध बनाता है, और यह काम प्रकट हो जाता है,

If a man find a damsel [that is] a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

29 तब वह संबंध बनानेवाला व्यक्ति कन्या के पिता को चांदी के पचास शेकेल देगा और वह कन्या उसकी पत्नी हो जाएगी; क्योंकि उस पुरुष ने उसका शीलभंग किया है. वह आजीवन उससे विवाह विच्छेद नहीं कर सकेगा.

Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel’s father fifty [shekels] of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

30 कोई भी पुरुष अपने पिता की पत्नी से विवाह नहीं करेगा; कि वह ऐसा करने के द्वारा अपने पिता के प्रति लज्जा का कारण न हो जाए.

A man shall not take his father’s wife, nor discover his father’s skirt.
