व्यवस्था विवरण 17

1 तुम याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर को ऐसा कोई बछड़ा अथवा भेड़ अर्पित नहीं करोगे, जिसमें किसी प्रकार का कलंक अथवा कोई दोष है, क्योंकि यह याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में घृणित है.

Thou shall not sacrifice to Jehovah thy God an ox, or a sheep, in which is a blemish or anything bad, for that is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.

2 यदि याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रदान किए गए तुम्हारे नगरों में तुम्हारे बीच में कोई ऐसा पुरुष अथवा स्त्री है, जो याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर की वाचा को तोड़कर उनकी दृष्टि में गलत काम करे,

If there be found in the midst of thee, within any of thy gates which Jehovah thy God gives thee, man or woman, who does that which is evil in the sight of Jehovah thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

3 जाकर पराए देवताओं की सेवा-उपासना करने लगे अथवा सूर्य, चंद्रमा और नक्षत्रों की वंदना करने लगे, जो किसी रीति से मेरा आदेश नहीं है,

and has gone and served other gods, and worshiped them, or the sun, or the moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded,

4 यदि तुम्हें इसकी सूचना दी गई है अथवा तुमने इस विषय में सुना हुआ है; तब तुम इसकी सूक्ष्म छानबीन करोगे. देख लेना कि सूचना सत्य ही है, और इस्राएल में यह घटना घटित हुई ही है,

and it be told thee, and thou have heard of it, then shall thou inquire diligently. And, behold, if it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel,

5 तब तुम उस पुरुष अथवा स्त्री को, जिसके द्वारा वह मृत्यु दंड के योग्य कृत्य किया गया है, नगर के बाहर ले जाकर उसका पथराव करोगे.

then thou shall bring forth that man or that woman, who has done this evil thing, to thy gates, even the man or the woman, and thou shall stone them to death with stones.

6 मृत्यु दंड के लिए तय व्यक्ति को दो या तीन गवाहों के सबूत पर मृत्यु दंड दिया जाए; सिर्फ एक गवाह के सबूत पर किसी को मृत्यु दंड न दिया जाए.

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he who is to die be put to death. He shall not be put to death at the mouth of one witness.

7 उसे मृत्यु देने की प्रक्रिया में गवाहों के हाथ पहले होंगे इसके बाद दूसरों के हाथ. अपने बीच से तुम यह बुराई इस तरह से साफ़ करोगे.

The hand of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So thou shall put away the evil from the midst of thee.

8 यदि कोई विषय बहुत दुष्कर होने के कारण बिना निर्णय के रह जाता है, जैसे हत्याएं, विभिन्‍न प्रकार के वाद, विभिन्‍न प्रकार के हमले और तुम्हारे न्यायालय में लाई गई विभिन्‍न विवादित स्थितियां; तब तुम उस स्थान को जाओगे, जिसे याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर ने चुना है.

If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates, then thou shall arise, and get thee up to the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose.

9 वहां तुम लेवी पुरोहित के सामने जाओगे अथवा न्यायाध्यक्ष के सामने, जो उस अवसर पर उस पद पर काम करते होंगे, तुम उन्हीं से पूछताछ करोगे और वे तुम्हें उस विवाद पर निर्णय देंगे.

And thou shall come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge who shall be in those days, and thou shall inquire. And they shall show thee the sentence of judgment.

10 याहवेह द्वारा नामित उस स्थान से लौटकर तुम वही करोगे, जिसका आदेश वे तुम्हें देंगे और तुम उनके द्वारा दिए गए निर्देशों के पालन करने के विषय में सतर्क रहोगे.

And thou shall do according to the tenor of the sentence which they shall show thee from that place which Jehovah shall choose. And thou shall observe to do according to all that they shall teach thee,

11 तुम्हें उनके द्वारा निर्देशित विधान की शर्तों का और उनके द्वारा घोषित निर्णय का निष्पादन करना होगा. उस आदेश से विमुख तुम नहीं होओगे, न तो दाएं और न बाएं.

according to the tenor of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shall do. Thou shall not turn aside from the sentence, which they shall show thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

12 वह व्यक्ति, जो दुराग्रह में न तो उस पुरोहित के आदेश की अनसुनी करता है, जो याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के द्वारा उनकी सेवा के लक्ष्य से उस पद पर नियुक्त किया गया है और न ही उस न्यायाध्यक्ष की, उस व्यक्ति को प्राण-दंड दिया जाए. तुम इस्राएल से इस बुराई को खत्म करोगे.

And the man who does presumptuously, in not hearkening to the priest who stands to minister there before Jehovah thy God, or to the judge, even that man shall die, and thou shall put away the evil from Israel.

13 फलस्वरूप सभी लोग हर जगह इसके बारे में सुनेंगे और उन पर आतंक छा जाएगा और वे इसके बाद दोबारा ऐसी दुष्टता नहीं करेंगे.

And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

14 जब तुम उस देश में प्रवेश करोगे, जो याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हें देने पर हैं, तुम उसका अभिग्रहण कर लो और उसमें बस जाओ; और तुम वहां यह विचार करने लगो: “हम भी निकटवर्ती देशों के समान अपने लिए राजा चुनेंगे,”

When thou have come to the land which Jehovah thy God gives thee, and shall possess it, and shall dwell in it, and shall say, I will set a king over me like all the nations that are round about me,

15 निश्चित ही तुम अपने लिए वह राजा नियुक्त करोगे, जिसे याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तय करेंगे. वह तुम्हारी ही जाति का होगा, जिसे तुम अपने लिए राजा नियुक्त करोगे; तुम किसी विदेशी को अपने लिए राजा नियुक्त नहीं करोगे, जो तुम्हारा स्वजातीय नहीं है.

thou shall surely set him king over thee whom Jehovah thy God shall choose. Thou shall set a king over thee from among thy brothers. Thou may not put a foreigner over thee who is not thy brother.

16 इसके अलावा, वह अपने घोड़ों की गिनती में वृद्धि नहीं करेगा और न ही वह प्रजा के लोगों को मजबूर करेगा, कि वे मिस्र देश में जाकर घोड़ों की गिनती में वृद्धि करें; क्योंकि तुम्हारे लिए याहवेह का आदेश है, “तुम कभी भी वहां नहीं लौटेंगे.”

Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses, inasmuch as Jehovah has said to you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

17 वह अपनी पत्नियों की गिनती में वृद्धि नहीं करेगा, नहीं तो उसका मन लक्ष्य से फिर जाएगा. वह अपने लिए सोने-चांदी में भी वृद्धि का यत्न न करे.

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away. Neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

18 जब वह अपने राज सिंहासन पर विराजमान हो, वह चर्मपत्र पर लेवी पुरोहित के सामने खुद अपने हाथ से व्यवस्था की एक नकल बनाएगा.

And it shall be, when he sits upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for him a copy of this law in a book, out of it before the priests the Levites,

19 राजा के लिए यह तय किया गया है, कि वह आजीवन इसका वाचन करे, कि वह व्यवस्था में लिखे आदेशों और नियमों का सावधानीपूर्वक पालन कर सके और याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर के प्रति श्रद्धा का अभ्यास कर सके,

and it shall be with him. And he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear Jehovah his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them,

20 ताकि वह अपने हृदय में यह विचार न करने लगे, कि वह अपनी प्रजा के लोगों से उत्तम है और वह आदेशों से दूर न हो सके; न दायें न बायें, जिससे कि वह और उसके वंशज इस्राएल पर उसके साम्राज्य में लंबे समय तक शासन कर सके.

that his heart not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left, to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his sons, in the midst of Israel.
