व्यवस्था विवरण 14

1 तुम लोग याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर की संतान हो; इसलिये किसी मरे हुए व्यक्ति के लिए शोक व्यक्त करने के उद्देश्य से तुम न तो अपनी देह का चीर-फाड़ करोगे और न ही अपने बालों को काटोगे,

Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

2 क्योंकि याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के लिए तुम एक पवित्र, अलग, लोक समूह हो. याहवेह ने तुम्हें सारी पृथ्वी के सारे मनुष्यों में से अपनी निज सम्‍पत्ति बनाने के लिए चुन लिया है.

For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

3 तुम किसी भी घृणित वस्तु का सेवन नहीं करोगे.

Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

4 तुम निम्न लिखित प्राणियों का उपभोग कर सकते हो: बैल, भेड़, बकरे,

These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,

5 हिरण, चिंकारा, मृग, वन्य बकरा, साकिन, कुरंग, पर्वतीय भेड़.

the hart, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the antelope, and the chamois.

6 कोई भी पशु, जिसके खुर अलग हैं, जिसके खुर फटे हों और वह पागुर करता है, तुम्हारे लिए भोज्य है.

And every beast that parteth the hoof, and hath the hoof cloven in two, [and] cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that ye shall eat.

7 फिर भी इन पशुओं में, जो पागुर ज़रूर करते हैं, जिनके खुर भी अलग हैं. तुम्हारे लिए भोज्य नहीं है: ऊंट, खरगोश और पत्थर-बिज्जू. ये पागुर ज़रूर करते हैं मगर इनके खुर अलग नहीं होते. ये तुम्हारे लिए अशुद्ध हैं.

Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that have the hoof cloven: the camel, and the hare, and the coney, because they chew the cud but part not the hoof, they are unclean unto you:

8 सूअर के खुर अलग ज़रूर होते हैं, मगर वह पागुर नहीं करता, तुम्हारे लिए अशुद्ध है. तुम न तो इनके मांस खाओगे न इनके शव को छुओगे.

and the swine, because he parteth the hoof but cheweth not the cud, he is unclean unto you: of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcases ye shall not touch.

9 वे सारे जलचर जिनके पंख और शल्क हैं, तुम उनको खा सकते हो.

These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales shall ye eat:

10 मगर कोई भी प्राणी, जिसके न तो पंख हैं और न छिलके; ये खाने योग्य नहीं, तुम्हारे लिए ये अशुद्ध हैं.

and whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye shall not eat; it is unclean unto you.

11 कोई भी शुद्ध पक्षी तुम्हारे खाने के योग्य हैं.

Of all clean birds ye may eat.

12 मगर इन पक्षियों को तुम नहीं खाओगे: गरुड़, गिद्ध और काला गिद्ध,

But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the gier eagle, and the ospray;

13 लाल चील, बाज और सभी प्रकार की चीलें.

and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite after its kind;

14 समस्त प्रकार के कौवे,

and every raven after its kind;

15 शुतुरमुर्ग, उल्लू, सागर काक और शिकारे की सभी प्रजातियां,

and the ostrich, and the night hawk, and the seamew, and the hawk after its kind;

16 छोटी प्रजाति के उल्लू, जलकौए और बड़ी प्रजाति के उल्लू,

the little owl, and the great owl, and the horned owl;

17 बख़ारी उल्लू, जल मुर्गी और शवभक्षी गिद्ध,

and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant;

18 छोटा गरुड़, सभी प्रकार के बगुले, टिटिहरी और चमगादड़.

and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

19 सभी पंखयुक्त पतंगे तुम्हारे लिए अशुद्ध घोषित किए गए हैं; इनको खाना मना है.

And all winged creeping things are unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.

20 तुम किसी भी शुद्ध पक्षी का उपभोग करने के लिए स्वतंत्र हो.

Of all clean fowls ye may eat.

21 तुम किसी भी ऐसे जानवर को नहीं खाओगे, जिसकी मृत्यु हो चुकी हो. तुम इसे अपने किसी विदेशी नगरवासी को दे सकते हो, अथवा किसी नगरवासी को बेच सकते हो, कि वही उसको खा ले, क्योंकि याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर के लिए तुम पवित्र लोग हो. तुम मेमने को उसी की माता के दुग्ध में नहीं उबालोगे.

Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou mayest give it unto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto a foreigner: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother’s milk.

22 यह ज़रूरी है कि तुम जो कुछ रोपित करो, भूमि के उस उत्पाद का दसवां अंश हर साल चढ़ाया करो.

Thou shalt surely tithe all the increase of thy seed, that which cometh forth of the field year by year.

23 उस स्थान पर, जिसे याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर अपनी प्रतिष्ठा करने के लिए चुनेंगे, तुम अपने अन्‍न के, नए अंगूर के रस के, तेल के, तुम्हारे भेड़-बकरी और गाय-बैलों के पहिलौठे के, दसवां अंश का उपभोग याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति में करोगे कि तुम सदा-सर्वदा के लिए याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर के प्रति श्रद्धा पालन करना सीख सको.

And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

24 जब याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हें समृद्धि प्रदान करें और यदि वह स्थान, जिसे याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर द्वारा अपनी प्रतिष्ठा के लिए स्थापित किया गया है, (इतनी दूर है कि तुम्हारे लिए दशमांश वहां ले जाना मुश्किल सिद्ध हो रहा है),

And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God shall bless thee:

25 तब तुम उस दशमांश का विनिमय धनराशि से कर लेना, उस राशि को सुरक्षा के लिए अपने ही साथ रखकर याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर द्वारा नामित स्थान पर प्रवास करना.

then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:

26 इस धनराशि का उपयोग तुम स्वेच्छानुरूप कर सकते हो: बछड़ों, भेड़ों, अंगूर का रस अथवा दाखमधु के खरीदने के लिए अथवा अपनी इच्छित वस्तु के खरीदने के लिए. तुम सपरिवार याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति में खुश होते हुए इनको खा सकोगे.

and thou shalt bestow the money for whatsoever thy soul desireth, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul asketh of thee: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou and thine household:

27 यह भी ध्यान रहे कि तुम्हारे नगर में निवास कर रहे लेवी की उपेक्षा न कर बैठो, क्योंकि तुम्हारी मीरास में उसका कोई भाग नहीं है.

and the Levite that is within thy gates, thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee.

28 हर एक तीन साल के अंत में ज़रूरी है कि तुम अपनी उपज का पूरा दसवां अंश अपने नगर में इकट्ठा करना.

At the end of every three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase in the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:

29 तब लेवी, (इसलिये कि तुम्हारे बीच मीरास में उसका कोई अंश नहीं है), विदेशी, अनाथ, विधवा, जो तुम्हारे ही नगरवासी हैं, आएंगे, इसमें से अपने उपभोग के लिए प्राप्‍त कर सकेंगे और संतुष्ट हो जाएंगे. तब याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हारे सारे परिश्रम को आशीषित कर तुम्हें समृद्धि प्रदान करेंगे.

and the Levite, because he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
