1 राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने एक सोने की मूर्ति बनवाई, जिसकी ऊंचाई लगभग 25 मीटर और चौड़ाई अढ़ाई मीटर थी, और उसने उसे बाबेल प्रदेश में दूरा के मैदान में स्थापित किया.
Nabugodonosor, the kyng, made a goldun ymage, in the heiythe of sixti cubitis, and in the breede of sixe cubitis; and he settide it in the feeld of Duram, of the prouynce of Babiloyne.
2 तब उसने हाकिमों, प्रधानों, राज्यपालों, सलाहकारों, ख़ज़ांचियों, न्यायाधीशों, जिलाधीशों और राज्य के दूसरे सब अधिकारियों को बुलवाया कि वे आकर उस मूर्ति के प्रतिष्ठा समारोह में शामिल हों जिसे उसने स्थापित किया था.
Therfor Nabugodonosor sente to gadere togidere the wise men, magistratis, and iugis, and duykis, and tirauntis, and prefectis, and alle princes of cuntreis, that thei schulden come togidere to the halewyng of the ymage, which the kyng Nabugodonosor hadde reisid.
3 अतः हाकिम, प्रधान, राज्यपाल, सलाहकार, खजांची, न्यायाधीश, जिलाधीश और राज्य के दूसरे सब अधिकारी उस मूर्ति के प्रतिष्ठा के लिये इकट्ठे हुए, जिसे राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने स्थापित किया था, और वे सब उस मूर्ति के सामने खड़े हुए.
Thanne the wise men, magistratis, and iugis, and duykis, and tirauntis, and beste men, that weren set in poweris, and alle the princes of cuntreis, weren gaderid togidere, that thei schulden come togidere to the halewyng of the ymage, which the kyng Nabugodonosor hadde reisid. Forsothe thei stoden in the siyt of the ymage, which Nabugodonosor hadde set; and a bedele criede myytili,
4 तब घोषणा करनेवाले ने ऊंची आवाज में यह घोषणा की, “जाति-जाति और हर भाषा के लोगों, तुम्हें यह करने की आज्ञा दी जाती है:
It is seid to you, puplis, kynredis, and langagis;
5 जिस समय तुम लोग नरसिंगा, बांसुरी, सितार, सारंगी, वीणा, शहनाई और सब प्रकार के संगीत की आवाज सुनो, उसी समय तुम गिरकर सोने के उस मूर्ति की आराधना करो, जिसे राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने स्थापित किया है.
in the our in which ye heren the soun of trumpe, and of pipe, and of harpe, of sambuke, of sawtre, and of symphonye, and of al kynde of musikis, falle ye doun, and worschipe the goldun ymage, which the kyng Nabugodonosor made.
6 जो कोई गिरकर आराधना नहीं करेगा, उसे तुरंत धधकती आग की भट्टी में झोंक दिया जाएगा.”
Sotheli if ony man fallith not doun, and worschipith not, in the same our he schal be sent in to the furneis of fier brennynge.
7 इसलिये जब उन्होंने नरसिंगा, बांसुरी, सितार, सारंगी, वीणा और हर प्रकार के संगीत की आवाज सुनी, तब सब जाति और हर भाषा के लोगों ने गिरकर उस सोने की मूर्ति की आराधना की, जिसे राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने स्थापित किया था.
Therfor aftir these thingis, anoon as alle puplis herden the sown of trumpe, of pipe, and of harpe, of sambuke, and of sawtre, of symphonye, and of al kynde of musikis, alle puplis, lynagis, and langagis fellen doun, and worschipiden the golden ymage, which the kyng Nabugodonosor hadde maad.
8 इसी समय कुछ ज्योतिषी आकर यहूदियों पर दोष लगाने लगे.
And anoon in that tyme men of Caldee neiyiden, and accusiden the Jewis,
9 उन्होंने राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र से कहा, “हे राजा, आप चिरंजीवी हों!
and seiden to the kyng Nabugodonosor, Kyng, lyue thou with outen ende.
10 आप ही ने यह राजाज्ञा निकाली है कि नरसिंगा, बांसुरी, सितार, सारंगी, वीणा, शहनाई और सब प्रकार के संगीत की आवाज सुनते ही हर व्यक्ति गिरकर सोने की मूर्ति की आराधना करे,
Thou, kyng, hast set a decree, that ech man that herith the sown of trumpe, of pipe, and of harpe, of sambuke, and of sawtree, and of symphonye, and of al kynde of musikis, bowe doun hym silf, and worschipe the goldun ymage; forsothe if ony man fallith not doun,
11 किंतु जो कोई गिरकर आराधना नहीं करेगा, उसे एक धधकती आग की भट्टी में झोंक दिया जाएगा.
and worschipith not, be he sent in to the furneis of fier brennynge.
12 पर कुछ यहूदी हैं, जिन्हें आपने बाबेल प्रदेश के कार्य हेतु ठहराया है—अर्थात् शद्रख, मेशेख तथा अबेद-नगो—हे महाराज, इन्होंने आपकी आज्ञा को नहीं माना है. वे न तो आपके देवताओं की सेवा करते हैं और न ही आपके द्वारा स्थापित सोने की मूर्ति की आराधना करते हैं.”
Therfor men Jewis ben, Sidrac, Mysaac, and Abdenago, whiche thou hast ordeynede on the werkis of the cuntrei of Babiloyne. Thou kyng, these men han dispisid thi decree; thei onouren not thi goddis, and thei worshipen not the goldun ymage, which thou reisidist.
13 गुस्से से आग बबूला होकर नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो को बुलवाया. तब इन तीनों को राजा के सामने लाया गया,
Thanne Nabugodonosor comaundide, in woodnesse and in wraththe, that Sidrac, Mysaac, and Abdenago schulden be brouyt; whiche weren brouyt anoon in the siyt of the kyng.
14 और नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने उनसे पूछा, “शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो, क्या यह सच है कि तुम मेरे देवताओं की सेवा नहीं करते या मेरे द्वारा स्थापित सोने की मूर्ति की आराधना नहीं करते हो?
And the kyng Nabugodonosor pronounside, and seide to hem, Whether verili Sidrac, Mysaac, and Abdenago, ye onouren not my goddis, and worschipen not the golden ymage, which Y made?
15 अब जब तुम नरसिंगा, बांसुरी, सितार सारंगी, वीणा, शहनाई और सब प्रकार के संगीत की आवाज सुनो, यदि तुम गिरकर मेरे द्वारा बनाए गये मूर्ति की आराधना करने को तैयार हो, तो अच्छी बात है. पर यदि तुम उसकी आराधना नहीं करते हो, तो तुम्हें तुरंत एक धधकती आग की भट्टी में झोंक दिया जाएगा. तब ऐसा कौन सा देवता है, जो तुम्हें मेरे हाथ से बचा सकेगा?”
Now therfor be ye redi, in what euer our ye heren the sown of trumpe, of pipe, of harpe, of sambuke, of sawtree, and of symphonye, and of al kynde of musikis, bowe ye doun you, and worschipe the ymage which Y made; that if ye worschipen not, in the same our ye schulen be sent in to the furneis of fier brennynge; and who is God, that schal delyuere you fro myn hond?
16 शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो ने राजा को उत्तर दिया, “हे राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र, इस विषय में हमें आपके सामने अपने आपका बचाव करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है.
Sidrac, Misaac, and Abdenago answeriden, and seiden to the king Nabugodonosor, It nedith not, that we answere of this thing to thee.
17 यदि हमें धधकती आग की भट्टी में फेंक दिया जाता है, तो हमारा परमेश्वर, जिनकी हम सेवा करते हैं, हमें इससे बचाने में समर्थ हैं, और हे महाराज, वह हमें आपके हाथों से भी बचाएंगे.
For whi oure God, whom we worschipen, mai rauysche vs fro the chymenei of fier brennynge, and mai delyuere fro thin hondis, thou kyng.
18 पर यदि वह हमें न भी बचाएं, तब भी, हे महाराज, हम आपको बता देना चाहते हैं कि हम आपके देवताओं की सेवा नहीं करेंगे या आपके द्वारा स्थापित सोने की मूर्ति की आराधना नहीं करेंगे.”
That if he nyle, be it knowun to thee, thou kyng, that we onouren not thi goddis, and we worschipen not the goldun ymage, which thou hast reisid.
19 तब नबूकदनेज्ज़र शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो के ऊपर बहुत क्रोधित हुआ, और उसकी भावना उनके प्रति बदल गई. उसने आज्ञा दी कि भट्टी को सामान्य से सात गुणा ज्यादा धधकाया जाए,
Thanne Nabugodonosor was fillid of woodnesse, and the biholdyng of his face was chaungid on Sidrac, Misaac, and Abdenago. And he comaundide, that the furneis schulde be maad hattere seuenfold, than it was wont to be maad hoot.
20 और उसने अपनी सेना के कुछ सबसे बलिष्ठ सैनिकों को आदेश दिया कि शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो को बांधकर धधकती भट्टी में झोंक दिया जाए.
And he comaundide to the strongeste men of his oost, that thei schulden bynde the feet of Sidrac, Mysaac, and Abdenago, and sende hem in to the furneis of fier brennynge.
21 अतः इन तीनों को उनके पहिने गये लबादा, पजामा, पगड़ी और अन्य कपड़ों सहित बांधकर धधकती भट्टी में फेंक दिया गया.
And anoon tho men weren boundun, with brechis, and cappis, and schoon, and clothis, and weren sent in to the myddis of the furneis of fier brennynge;
22 राजा की दृढ़ आज्ञा थी और भट्टी इतनी गर्म थी कि आग की ज्वाला से वे सैनिक मारे गये, जो शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो को भट्टी तक ले गए थे,
for whi comaundement of the kyng constreinede. Forsothe the furneis was maad ful hoot; certis the flawme of the fier killid tho men, that hadden sent Sidrac, Misaac, and Abdenago in to the furneis.
23 और ये तीनों व्यक्ति—शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो अच्छे से बंधे हुए धधकती आग की भट्टी में डाल दिये गए.
Sotheli these thre men, Sidrac, Misaac, and Abdenago, fellen doun boundun in the mydis of the chymenei of fier brennynge.
24 तब राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र आश्चर्य में उछलकर खड़ा हो गया और अपने सलाहकारों से पूछा, “क्या वे तीन ही व्यक्ति नहीं थे, जिन्हें हमने बांधकर आग में डाला था?” उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, “निश्चित रूप से, महाराज.”
Thanne kyng Nabugodonosor was astonyed, and roos hastily, and seide to hise beste men, Whether we senten not thre men feterid in to the myddis of the fier? Whiche answeriden the kyng, and seiden, Verili, kyng.
25 राजा ने कहा, “देखो! मैं आग के बीच चार व्यक्तियों को चलते हुए देख रहा हूं, वे बंधे हुए नहीं हैं और उन्हें कुछ भी हानि नहीं हुई है, और चौथा व्यक्ति देवताओं के पुत्र जैसे दिख रहा है.”
The kyng answeride, and seide, Lo! Y se foure men vnboundun, and goynge in the myddis of the fier, and no thing of corrupcioun is in hem; and the licnesse of the fourthe is lijk the sone of God.
26 तब नबूकदनेज्ज़र धधकती भट्टी के मुहाने के पास पहुंचा और ऊंची आवाज में कहा, “शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो, सर्वोच्च परमेश्वर के सेवको, बाहर आ जाओ! मेरे पास आओ!” यह सुनकर शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो आग से बाहर निकल आए,
Thanne the kyng Nabugodonosor neiyide to the dore of the furneis of fier brennynge, and seide, Sidrac, Mysaac, and Abdenago, the seruauntis of hiy God lyuynge, go ye out, and come ye. And anoon Sidrac, Mysaac, and Abdenago, yeden out of the myddis of the fier.
27 और उनके चारों तरफ हाकिमों, प्रधानों, राज्यपालों और शाही सलाहकारों की भीड़ लग गई. उन्होंने देखा कि उन तीनों के शरीर को आग से कोई नुकसान नहीं पहुंचा था, न ही उनके सिर का एक भी बाल झुलसा था; उनके कपड़े भी नहीं जले थे, और उनसे जलने की कोई गंध नहीं आ रही थी.
And the wise men, and magistratis, and iugis, and miyti men of the kyng, weren gaderid togidere, and bihelden tho men, for the fier hadde had no thing of power in the bodies of hem, and an heer of her heed was not brent; also the breechis of hem weren not chaungid, and the odour of fier hadde not passid bi hem.
28 तब नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने कहा, “शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो के परमेश्वर की महिमा हो, जिन्होंने अपने स्वर्गदूत को भेजकर अपने सेवकों को बचाया! उन्होंने उस पर भरोसा किया और राजा के आज्ञा की परवाह न की और अपना प्राण देने तक तैयार थे, इसके बजाय कि वे अपने परमेश्वर को छोड़कर किसी और देवता की सेवा या आराधना करें.
And Nabugodonosor brac out, and seide, Blessid be the God of hem, that is, of Sidrac, Mysaac, and Abdenago, that sente his aungel, and delyueride hise seruauntis, that bileuyden in to hym, and chaungiden the word of the kyng, and yauen her bodies, that thei schulden not serue, and that thei schulden not worschipe ony god, outakun her God aloone.
29 इसलिये मैं यह आज्ञा देता हूं कि किसी भी जाति या भाषा के लोग, यदि शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो के परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध कुछ भी कहते हैं, तो उनको काटकर टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दिया जाए और उनके घरों को कचरे का ढेर कर दिया जाए, क्योंकि ऐसा कोई भी देवता नहीं, जो इस प्रकार से बचा सके.”
Therfor this decree is set of me, that ech puple, and langagis, and lynagis, who euer spekith blasfemye ayen God of Sidrac, and of Mysaac, and of Abdenago, perische, and his hous be distried; for noon other is God, that mai saue so.
30 तब राजा ने शद्रख, मेशेख और अबेद-नगो को बाबेल राज्य में और उच्च पद दिया.
Thanne the kyng auaunside Sidrac, Mysaac, and Abdenago, in the prouynce of Babiloyne; and sente in to al the lond a pistle, conteynynge these wordis.
