प्रेरितों के काम 13
1 अंतियोख़ नगर की कलीसिया में अनेक भविष्यवक्ता और शिक्षक थे: बारनबास, शिमओन, जिनका उपनाम निगेर भी था, कुरेनी लुकियॉस, मनायेन, (जिसका पालन पोषण राज्य के चौथाई भाग के राजा हेरोदेस के साथ हुआ था) तथा शाऊल.
Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 जब ये लोग प्रभु की आराधना और उपवास कर रहे थे, पवित्र आत्मा ने उनसे कहा, “बारनबास तथा शाऊल को उस सेवा के लिए समर्पित करो, जिसके लिए मैंने उनको बुलाया है.”
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Separate for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.
3 इसलिये जब वे उपवास और प्रार्थना कर चुके, उन्होंने बारनबास तथा शाऊल पर हाथ रखे और उन्हें इस सेवा के लिए भेज दिया.
And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4 पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा भेजे गए वे सेल्युकिया नगर गए तथा वहां से जलमार्ग से सैप्रस गए.
So they, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, departed to Seleucia; and from there they sailed to Cyprus.
5 वहां से सालामिस नगर पहुंचकर उन्होंने यहूदियों के सभागृह में परमेश्वर के संदेश का प्रचार किया. सहायक के रूप में योहन भी उनके साथ थे.
And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John as their helper.
6 जब वे सारे द्वीप को घूमकर पाफ़ॉस नगर पहुंचे, जहां उनकी भेंट बार-येशु नामक एक यहूदी व्यक्ति से हुई, जो जादूगर तथा झूठा भविष्यवक्ता था.
And when they had gone through the isle to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:
7 वह राज्यपाल सेरगियॉस पौलॉस का सहयोगी था. सेरगियॉस पौलॉस बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति था. उसने बारनबास तथा शाऊल को बुलवाकर उनसे परमेश्वर के वचन को सुनने की अभिलाषा व्यक्त की
Who was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
8 किंतु जादूगर एलिमॉस—जिसके नाम का ही अर्थ है जादूगर—उनका विरोध करता रहा. उसका प्रयास था राज्यपाल को परमेश्वर के वचन में विश्वास करने से रोकना,
But Elymas the sorcerer ( for so is his name by interpretation ) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
9 किंतु शाऊल ने, जिन्हें पौलॉस नाम से भी जाना जाता है, पवित्र आत्मा से भरकर उसे एकटक देखते हुए कहा,
Then Saul, ( who also is called Paul, ) filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes on him,
10 “हे, सारे छल और कपट से ओत-प्रोत शैतान के कपूत! सारे धर्म के बैरी! क्या तू प्रभु की सच्चाई को भ्रष्ट करने के प्रयासों को नहीं छोड़ेगा?
And said, O full of all deceit and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
11 देख ले, तुझ पर प्रभु का प्रहार हुआ है. तू अंधा हो जाएगा और कुछ समय के लिए सूर्य की रोशनी न देख सकेगा.” उसी क्षण उस पर धुंधलापन और अंधकार छा गया. वह यहां वहां टटोलने लगा कि कोई हाथ पकड़कर उसकी सहायता करे.
And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
12 इस घटना को देख राज्यपाल ने प्रभु में विश्वास किया, क्योंकि प्रभु की शिक्षाओं ने उसे चकित कर दिया था.
Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
13 पौलॉस और उनके साथियों ने पाफ़ॉस नगर से समुद्री यात्रा शुरू की और वे पम्फ़ूलिया प्रदेश के पेरगे नगर में जा पहुंचे. योहन उन्हें वहीं छोड़कर येरूशलेम लौट गए.
Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
14 तब वे पेरगे से होते हुए पिसिदिया प्रदेश के अंतियोख़ नगर पहुंचे और शब्बाथ पर यहूदी सभागृह में जाकर बैठ गए.
But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
15 जब व्यवस्था तथा भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के ग्रंथों का पढ़ना समाप्त हो चुका, सभागृह के अधिकारियों ने उनसे कहा, “प्रियजन, यदि आप में से किसी के पास लोगों के प्रोत्साहन के लिए कोई वचन है तो कृपा कर वह उसे यहां प्रस्तुत करे.”
And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Men, brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
16 इस पर पौलॉस ने हाथ से संकेत करते हुए खड़े होकर कहा. “इस्राएली वासियों तथा परमेश्वर के श्रद्धालुओ, सुनो!
Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, listen.
17 इस्राएल के परमेश्वर ने हमारे पूर्वजों को चुना तथा मिस्र देश में उनके घर की अवधि में उन्हें एक फलवंत राष्ट्र बनाया और प्रभु ही अपने बाहुबल से उन्हें उस देश से बाहर निकाल लाए;
The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm he brought them out of it.
18 इसके बाद बंजर भूमि में वह लगभग चालीस वर्ष तक उनके प्रति सहनशील बने रहे
And about the time of forty years he bore their manners in the wilderness.
19 और उन्होंने कनान देश की सात जातियों को नाश कर उनकी भूमि अपने लोगों को मीरास में दे दी.
And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
20 इस सारी प्रक्रिया में लगभग चार सौ पचास वर्ष लगे. “इसके बाद परमेश्वर उनके लिए भविष्यवक्ता शमुएल के आने तक न्यायाधीश ठहराते रहे.
And after these things, which took about four hundred and fifty years, he gave to them judges, until Samuel the prophet.
21 फिर इस्राएल ने अपने लिए राजा की विनती की. इसलिये परमेश्वर ने उन्हें बिन्यामिन के वंश से कीश का पुत्र शाऊल दे दिया, जो चालीस वर्ष तक उनका राजा रहा.
And afterward they desired a king: and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
22 परमेश्वर ने शाऊल को पद से हटाकर उसके स्थान पर दावीद को राजा बनाया जिनके विषय में उन्होंने स्वयं कहा था कि यिशै का पुत्र दावीद मेरे मन के अनुसार व्यक्ति है. वही मेरी सारी इच्छा पूरी करेगा.
And when he had removed him, he raised up to them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who shall fulfil all my will.
23 “उन्हीं के वंश से, अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के अनुसार, परमेश्वर ने इस्राएल के लिए एक उद्धारकर्ता मसीह येशु की उत्पत्ति की.
Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised up to Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
24 मसीह येशु के आने के पहले योहन ने सारी इस्राएली प्रजा में पश्चाताप के बपतिस्मा का प्रचार किया.
After John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25 अपनी तय की हुई सेवा का कार्य पूरा करते हुए योहन घोषणा करते रहे, ‘क्या है मेरे विषय में आपका विश्वास? मैं वह नहीं हूं. यह समझ लीजिए: मेरे बाद एक आ रहे हैं. मैं जिनकी जूती का बंध खोलने योग्य तक नहीं हूं.’
And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
26 “अब्राहाम की संतान, मेरे प्रियजन तथा आपके बीच, जो परमेश्वर के श्रद्धालु हैं, सुनें कि यही उद्धार का संदेश हमारे लिए भेजा गया है.
Men, brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
27 येरूशलेम वासियों तथा उनके शासकों ने न तो मसीह येशु को पहचाना और न ही भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की आवाज को, जिनका पढ़ना हर एक शब्बाथ पर किया जाता है और जिनकी पूर्ति उन्होंने मसीह को दंड देकर की,
For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the words of the prophets which are read every sabbath, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
28 हालांकि उन्हें मार डालने का उनके सामने कोई भी आधार नहीं था—उन्होंने पिलातॉस से उनके मृत्यु दंड की मांग की.
And though they found no cause of death in him, yet they desired Pilate that he should be put to death.
29 जब उनके विषय में की गई सारी भविष्यवाणियों को वे लोग पूरा कर चुके, उन्हें क्रूस से उतारकर कब्र की गुफ़ा में रख दिया गया
And when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30 किंतु परमेश्वर ने उन्हें मरे हुओं में से जीवित कर दिया.
But God raised him from the dead:
31 अनेक दिन तक वह स्वयं को उनके सामने साक्षात प्रकट करते रहे, जो उनके साथ गलील प्रदेश से येरूशलेम आए हुए थे और जो आज तक इन लोगों के सामने उनके गवाह हैं.
And he was seen many days by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.
32 “हम आपके सामने हमारे पूर्वजों से की गई प्रतिज्ञा का ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार ला रहे हैं
And we declare to you the glad tidings, that the promise which was made to the fathers,
33 कि परमेश्वर ने हमारी संतान के लिए मसीह येशु को मरे हुओं में से जीवित कर अपनी इस प्रतिज्ञा को पूरा कर दिया है—जैसा कि भजन संहिता दो में लिखा है: “‘तुम मेरे पुत्र हो; आज मैं तुम्हारा पिता बन गया हूं.’
God hath fulfilled the same to us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
34 परमेश्वर ने उन्हें कभी न सड़ने के लिए मरे हुओं में से जीवित किया. यह सच्चाई इन शब्दों में बयान की गई है, “‘मैं तुम्हें दावीद की पवित्र तथा अटल आशीषें प्रदान करूंगा.’
And as concerning that he raised him from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said in this way, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35 एक अन्य भजन में कहा गया है: “‘आप अपने पवित्र जन को सड़ने न देंगे.’
Therefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not allow thy Holy One to see corruption.
36 “दावीद अपने जीवनकाल में परमेश्वर के उद्देश्य को पूरा करके हमेशा के लिए सो गए और अपने पूर्वजों में मिल गए और उनका शरीर सड़ भी गया.
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid to his fathers, and saw corruption:
37 किंतु वह, जिन्हें परमेश्वर ने मरे हुओं में से जीवित किया, सड़ने नहीं पाया.
But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38 “इसलिये प्रियजन, सही यह है कि आप यह समझ लें कि आपके लिए इन्हीं के द्वारा पाप क्षमा की घोषणा की जाती है. इन पापों से मुक्त करके धर्मी घोषित करने में मोशेह की व्यवस्था हमेशा असफल रही है. हर एक, जो विश्वास करता है, वह सभी पापों से मुक्त किया जाता है.
Be it known to you therefore, men, brethren, that through this man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins:
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40 इसलिये इस विषय में सावधान रहो कि कहीं भविष्यद्वक्ताओं का यह कथन तुम पर लागू न हो जाए:
Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken in the prophets;
41 “‘अरे ओ निंदा करनेवालों! देखो, चकित हो और मर मिटो! क्योंकि मैं तुम्हारे सामने कुछ ऐसा करने पर हूं जिस पर तुम कभी विश्वास न करोगे, हां, किसी के द्वारा स्पष्ट करने पर भी नहीं.’”
Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall by no means believe, though a man declare it to you.
42 जब पौलॉस और बारनबास यहूदी सभागृह से बाहर निकल रहे थे, लोगों ने उनसे विनती की कि वे आनेवाले शब्बाथ पर भी इसी विषय पर आगे प्रवचन दें.
And when the Jews had gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 जब सभा समाप्त हुई अनेक यहूदी और यहूदी मत में से आए हुए नए विश्वासी पौलॉस तथा बारनबास के साथ हो लिए. पौलॉस तथा बारनबास ने उनसे परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह में स्थिर रहने की विनती की.
Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 अगले शब्बाथ पर लगभग सारा नगर परमेश्वर का वचन सुनने के लिए उमड़ पड़ा.
And the next sabbath came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
45 उस बड़ी भीड़ को देख यहूदी जलन से भर गए तथा पौलॉस द्वारा पेश किए गए विचारों का विरोध करते हुए उनकी घोर निंदा करने लगे.
But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spoke against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
46 किंतु पौलॉस तथा बारनबास ने निडरता से कहा: “यह ज़रूरी था कि परमेश्वर का वचन सबसे पहले आपके सामने स्पष्ट किया जाता. अब, जबकि आप लोगों ने इसे नकार दिया है और यह करते हुए स्वयं को अनंत जीवन के लिए अयोग्य घोषित कर दिया है, हम अपना ध्यान अब गैर-यहूदियों की ओर केंद्रित करेंगे, (aiōnios g166)
Then Paul and Barnabas became bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but seeing ye reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)
47 क्योंकि हमारे लिए परमेश्वर की आज्ञा है: “‘मैंने तुमको गैर-यहूदियों के लिए एक ज्योति के रूप में चुना है, कि तुम्हारे द्वारा सारी पृथ्वी पर उद्धार लाया जाए.’”
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation to the ends of the earth.
48 यह सुनकर गैर-यहूदी आनंद में प्रभु के वचन की प्रशंसा करने लगे तथा अनंत जीवन के लिए पहले से ठहराए गए सुननेवालों ने इस पर विश्वास किया. (aiōnios g166)
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. (aiōnios g166)
49 सारे क्षेत्र में प्रभु का वचन-संदेश फैलता चला गया.
And the word of the Lord was proclaimed throughout all the region.
50 किंतु यहूदी अगुओं ने नगर की भली, श्रद्धालु स्त्रियों तथा ऊंचे पद पर बैठे व्यक्तियों को भड़का दिया और पौलॉस और बारनबास के विरुद्ध उपद्रव करवा कर उन्हें अपने क्षेत्र की सीमा से निकाल दिया.
But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their land.
51 पौलॉस और बारनबास उनके प्रति विरोध प्रकट करते हुए अपने पैरों की धूलि झाड़ते हुए इकोनियॉन नगर की ओर चले गए.
But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.
52 प्रभु के शिष्य आनंद और पवित्र आत्मा से भरते चले गए.
And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Spirit.
