प्रेरितों के काम 11

1 सारे यहूदिया प्रदेश में प्रेरितों और शिष्यों तक यह समाचार पहुंच गया कि गैर-यहूदियों ने भी परमेश्वर के वचन-संदेश को ग्रहण कर लिया है.

And the apostles and brothers that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

2 परिणामस्वरूप येरूशलेम पहुंचने पर ख़तना किए हुए शिष्यों ने पेतरॉस को आड़े हाथों लिया,

And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

3 “आप वहां खतना-रहितों के अतिथि होकर रहे तथा आपने उनके साथ भोजन भी किया!”

Saying, You went in to men uncircumcised, and did eat with them.

4 इसलिये पेतरॉस ने उन्हें क्रमानुसार समझाना शुरू किया,

But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order to them, saying,

5 “जब मैं योप्पा नगर में प्रार्थना कर रहा था, अवचेतन अवस्था में मैंने दर्शन में एक चादर जैसी वस्तु को चारों कोनों से लटके हुए स्वर्ग से नीचे उतरते देखा. वह वस्तु मेरे एकदम पास आ गई.

I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

6 उसे ध्यान से देखने पर मैंने पाया कि उसमें पृथ्वी पर के सभी चौपाये, जंगली पशु, रेंगते जंतु तथा आकाश के पक्षी थे.

On the which when I had fastened my eyes, I considered, and saw four footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

7 उसी समय मुझे यह शब्द सुनाई दिया, ‘उठो, पेतरॉस, मारो और खाओ.’

And I heard a voice saying to me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

8 “मैंने उत्तर दिया, ‘बिलकुल नहीं प्रभु! क्योंकि मैंने कभी भी कोई अपवित्र या अशुद्ध वस्तु मुंह में नहीं डाली.’

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean has at any time entered into my mouth.

9 “स्वर्ग से दोबारा यह शब्द सुनाई दिया, ‘जिसे परमेश्वर ने शुद्ध घोषित कर दिया है तुम उसे अशुद्ध मत समझो.’

But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God has cleansed, that call not you common.

10 तीन बार दोहराने के बाद वह सब स्वर्ग में उठा लिया गया.

And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

11 “ठीक उसी समय तीन व्यक्ति उस घर के सामने आ खड़े हुए, जहां मैं ठहरा हुआ था. वे कयसरिया नगर से मेरे लिए भेजे गए थे.

And, behold, immediately there were three men already come to the house where I was, sent from Caesarea to me.

12 पवित्र आत्मा ने मुझे आज्ञा दी कि मैं बिना किसी आपत्ति के उनके साथ चला जाऊं. मेरे साथ ये छः शिष्य भी वहां गए थे, और हम उस व्यक्ति के घर में गए.

And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brothers accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:

13 उसने हमें बताया कि किस प्रकार उसने अपने घर में उस स्वर्गदूत को देखा, जिसने उसे आज्ञा दी थी कि योप्पा नगर से शिमओन अर्थात् पेतरॉस को आमंत्रित किया जाए,

And he showed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said to him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

14 जो उन्हें वह संदेश देंगे जिसके द्वारा उसका तथा उसके सारे परिवार को उद्धार प्राप्‍त होगा.

Who shall tell you words, whereby you and all your house shall be saved.

15 “जब मैंने प्रवचन शुरू किया उन पर भी पवित्र आत्मा उतरे—ठीक उसी प्रकार, जिस प्रकार वह शुरुआत में हम पर उतरे थे.

And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

16 तब मुझे प्रभु के ये शब्द याद आए, ‘निःसंदेह योहन जल में बपतिस्मा देता रहा किंतु तुम्हें पवित्र आत्मा में बपतिस्मा दिया जाएगा.’

Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

17 इसलिये जब प्रभु येशु मसीह में विश्वास करने पर परमेश्वर ने उन्हें भी वही दान दिया है, जो हमें दिया था, तब मैं कौन था, जो परमेश्वर के काम में रुकावट उत्पन्‍न करता?”

For as much then as God gave them the like gift as he did to us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

18 यह सुनने के बाद इसके उत्तर में वे कुछ भी न कह पाए परंतु इन शब्दों में परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करने लगे, “इसका मतलब तो यह हुआ कि जीवन पाने के लिए परमेश्वर ने गैर-यहूदियों को भी पश्चाताप की ओर उभारा है.”

When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then has God also to the Gentiles granted repentance to life.

19 वे शिष्य, जो स्तेफ़ानॉस के सताहट के फलस्वरूप शुरुआत में तितर-बितर हो गए थे, फ़ॉयनिके, सैप्रस तथा अंतियोख़ नगरों में जा पहुंचे थे. ये यहूदियों के अतिरिक्त अन्य किसी को भी संदेश नहीं सुनाते थे

Now they which were scattered abroad on the persecution that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but to the Jews only.

20 किंतु कुछ सैप्रसवासी तथा कुरेनावासी अंतियोख़ नगरों में आकर यूनानियों को भी मसीह येशु के विषय में सुसमाचार देने लगे.

And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spoke to the Grecians, preaching the LORD Jesus.

21 उन पर प्रभु की कृपादृष्टि थी. बड़ी संख्या में लोगों ने विश्वास कर प्रभु को ग्रहण किया.

And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned to the Lord.

22 यह समाचार येरूशलेम की कलीसिया में भी पहुंचा. इसलिये उन्होंने बारनबास को अंतियोख़ नगर भेजा.

Then tidings of these things came to the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

23 वहां पहुंचकर जब बारनबास ने परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह के प्रमाण देखे तो वह बहुत आनंदित हुए और उन्होंने उन्हें पूरी लगन के साथ प्रभु में स्थिर बने रहने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया.

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would hold to the Lord.

24 बारनबास एक भले, पवित्र आत्मा से भरे हुए और विश्वास में परिपूर्ण व्यक्ति थे, और बहुत बड़ी संख्या में लोग प्रभु के पास लाए गए.

For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added to the Lord.

25 इसलिये बारनबास को तारस्यॉस नगर जाकर शाऊल को खोजना सही लगा.

Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

26 शाऊल के मिल जाने पर वह उन्हें लेकर अंतियोख़ नगर आ गए. वहां कलीसिया में एक वर्ष तक रहकर दोनों ने अनेक लोगों को शिक्षा दी. अंतियोख़ नगर में ही सबसे पहले मसीह येशु के शिष्य मसीही कहलाए.

And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

27 इन्हीं दिनों में कुछ भविष्यवक्ता येरूशलेम से अंतियोख़ आए.

And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem to Antioch.

28 उन्हीं में से हागाबुस नामक एक भविष्यवक्ता ने पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा से यह संकेत दिया कि सारी पृथ्वी पर अकाल पड़ने पर है—यह कयसर क्लॉदियॉस के शासनकाल की घटना है.

And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

29 इसलिये शिष्यों ने यहूदिया प्रदेश के मसीह के विश्वासी भाई बहिनों के लिए अपनी सामर्थ्य के अनुसार सहायता देने का निश्चय किया.

Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers which dwelled in Judaea:

30 अपने इस निश्चय के अनुसार उन्होंने दानराशि बारनबास और शाऊल के द्वारा पुरनियों को भेज दी.

Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
