2 तीमुथियुस 2

1 इसलिये, हे पुत्र, मसीह येशु में प्राप्‍त हुए अनुग्रह में बलवान हो जाओ.

Do you then, my son, strengthen you heart in the grace which is in Christ Jesus.

2 उन शिक्षाओं को, जो तुमने अनेकों गवाहों की उपस्थिति में मुझसे प्राप्‍त की हैं, ऐसे विश्वासयोग्य व्यक्तियों को सौंप दो, जिनमें बाकियों को भी शिक्षा देने की क्षमता है.

The teachings which you have heard from me, attested by many witnesses, deliver into the keeping of faithful men, who in their turn will be able to teach others also.

3 मसीह येशु के अच्छे योद्धा की तरह मेरे साथ दुःखों का सामना करो.

Take your share in suffering as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

4 कोई भी योद्धा रणभूमि में दैनिक जीवन के झंझटों में नहीं पड़ता कि वह योद्धा के रूप में अपने भर्ती करनेवाले को संतुष्ट कर सके.

A soldier in active service avoids entangling himself in the every- day affairs of life, so that he may please his commander.

5 इसी प्रकार यदि कोई अखाड़े की प्रतियोगिता में भाग लेता है किंतु नियम के अनुसार प्रदर्शन नहीं करता, विजय पदक प्राप्‍त नहीं करता.

And again, an athlete is not crowned unless he obeys the rules of the game.

6 यह सही ही है कि परिश्रमी किसान उपज से अपना हिस्सा सबसे पहले प्राप्‍त करे.

The farmer who has done the work should be the first to get a share of the crop.

7 मेरी शिक्षाओं पर विचार करो. प्रभु तुम्हें सब विषयों में समझ प्रदान करेंगे.

Reflect on what I am telling you. The Lord will give you understanding in everything.

8 उस ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार के अनुसार, जिसका मैं प्रचारक हूं, मरे हुओं में से जीवित, दावीद के वंशज मसीह येशु को याद रखो.

Always remember that Jesus Christ, a descendant of David, has been raised from the dead according to the gospel I proclaim.

9 उसी ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार के लिए मैं कष्ट सह रहा हूं, यहां तक कि मैं अपराधी जैसा बेड़ियों में जकड़ा गया हूं—परंतु परमेश्वर का वचन कैद नहीं किया जा सका.

For preaching it I am suffering, and am even put in chains as a malefacter. But God’s message is no prisoner.

10 यही कारण है कि मैं उनके लिए, जो चुने हुए हैं, सभी कष्ट सह रहा हूं कि उन्हें भी वह उद्धार प्राप्‍त हो, जो मसीह येशु में मिलता है तथा उसके साथ अनंत महिमा भी. (aiōnios g166)

That is why I endure everything for the sake of the chosen, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. (aiōnios g166)

11 यह बात सत्य है: यदि उनके साथ हमारी मृत्यु हुई है तो हम उनके साथ जीवित भी होंगे;

Faithful is the saying. "If we have died with him, we shall also live with him.

12 यदि हम धीरज धारण किए रहें तो, हम उनके साथ शासन भी करेंगे, यदि हम उनका इनकार करेंगे तो, वह भी हमारा इनकार करेंगे.

If we endure suffering, we shall also reign with him. If we disown him, he too will disown us.

13 हम चाहे सच्चाई पर चलना त्याग दें, तो भी वह विश्वासयोग्य रहते हैं, क्योंकि वह अपने स्वभाव के विरुद्ध नहीं जा सकते.

If we prove faithless. he abides faithful, for he cannot be false to himself."

14 उन्हें इन विषयों की याद दिलाते रहो. परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति में उन्हें चेतावनी दो कि वे शब्दों पर वाद-विवाद न किया करें. इससे किसी का कोई लाभ नहीं होता परंतु इससे सुननेवालों का विनाश ही होता है.

Always call these truths to men’s mind; adjuring them in the presence of God to avoid controversy. It is a useless thing, and subverts those who listen to it.

15 सत्य के वचन को ठीक रीति से काम में लाते हुए परमेश्वर के ऐसे ग्रहण योग्य सेवक बनने का पूरा प्रयास करो, जिसे लज्जित न होना पड़े.

Strive earnestly to present yourself unto God, tested and proved worthy by trial, a workman unashamed, ever cutting a straight path for the message of the truth.

16 सांसारिक और व्यर्थ की बातचीत से दूर रहो, नहीं तो सांसारिकता बढ़ती ही जाएगी.

but avoid profane babble; for people will go farther and farther in impiety,

17 और इस प्रकार की शिक्षा सड़े घाव की तरह फैल जाएगी. ह्यूमैनेऑस तथा फ़िलेतॉस इसी के समर्थकों में से हैं,

and their teaching will spread like a gangrene.

18 जो यह कहते हुए सच से भटक गए कि पुनरुत्थान तो पहले ही हो चुका. इस प्रकार उन्होंने कुछ को विश्वास से अलग कर दिया है.

Among such are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have gone astray concerning the truth by declaring that the resurrection is already past; and they are undermining the faith of some.

19 फिर भी परमेश्वर की पक्की नींव स्थिर है, जिस पर यह मोहर लगी है: “प्रभु उन्हें जानते हैं, जो उनके हैं.” तथा “हर एक, जिसने प्रभु को अपनाया है, अधर्म से दूर रहे.”

Nevertheless God’s firm foundation stands unshaken, bearing this inscription, THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS, and this also, LET EVERY ONE WHO NAMES THE NAME OF THE LORD RENOUNCE WICKEDNESS.

20 एक सम्पन्‍न घर में केवल सोने-चांदी के ही नहीं परंतु लकड़ी तथा मिट्टी के भी बर्तन होते हैं—कुछ अच्छे उपयोग के लिए तथा कुछ अनादर के लिए.

Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for noble, some for ignoble uses.

21 इसलिये जो व्यक्ति स्वयं को इस प्रकार की गंदगी से साफ़ कर लेता है, उसे अच्छा, अलग किया हुआ, स्वामी के लिए उपयोगी तथा हर एक भले काम के लिए तैयार किया हुआ बर्तन माना जाएगा.

If then a man keeps himself clear of these latter, he will be a vessel for honor, consecrated, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

22 जवानी की अभिलाषाओं से दूर भागो तथा उनकी संगति में धार्मिकता, विश्वास, प्रेम और शांति का स्वभाव करो, जो निर्मल हृदय से प्रभु को पुकारते हैं

Flee from the passions of youth, but run after righteousness, faith, love, and peace, in company with those who out of a pure heart call upon the Lord.

23 मूर्खता तथा अज्ञानतापूर्ण विवादों से दूर रहो; यह जानते हुए कि इनसे झगड़ा उत्पन्‍न होता है.

Ever shun foolish and puerile discussions, for you know that they lead to quarrels.

24 प्रभु के दास का झगड़ालू होना सही नहीं है. वह सबके साथ कृपालु, निपुण शिक्षक, अन्याय की स्थिति में धीरजवंत हो,

The Lord’s slave must not quarrel, but must be kind to all men; a skilful teacher, patient of wrong.

25 जो विरोधियों को नम्रतापूर्वक इस संभावना की आशा में समझाए कि क्या जाने परमेश्वर उन्हें सत्य के ज्ञान की प्राप्‍ति के लिए पश्चाताप की ओर भेजें.

He must be gentle when instructing opponents; for possibly God may give them a change of mind for the recognition of the truth,

26 वे सचेत हो जाएं तथा शैतान के उस फंदे से छूट जाएं जिसमें उसने उन्हें अपनी इच्छा पूरी करने के लिए जकड़ रखा है.

and they may come to their senses again, and escape the snare of the devil, as they are restored to life by God to do his will.
