2 राजा 11

1 जब अहज़्याह की माता को मालूम हुआ कि उसके पुत्र की मृत्यु हो चुकी है, उसने जाकर सारे राजपरिवार को नाश कर दिया.

Then Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah when she saw that her sonne was dead, she arose, and destroyed all the Kings seede.

2 मगर राजा यहोराम की पुत्री अहज़्याह की बहन येहोशिबा वध किए जा रहे राजपुत्रों के बीच से अहज़्याह के पुत्र योआश को छिपाकर वहां से दूर ले गई, और उसे और उसकी धाय को एक शयन कमरे में छिपा दिया. इस प्रकार उन्होंने योआश को अथालियाह से बचा लिया और उसका वध नहीं किया जा सका.

But Iehosheba the daughter of King Ioram, and sister to Ahaziah tooke Ioash the sonne of Ahaziah, and stale him from among the Kings sonnes that shoulde be slaine, both him and his nource, keeping them in the bed chaber, and they hid him from Athaliah, so that he was not slaine.

3 योआश येहोशिबा की देखरेख में छः साल रहा. उसे याहवेह के भवन में छिपाकर रखा गया था, और अथालियाह देश पर शासन करती रही.

And he was with her hid in the house of the Lord sixe yeere: and Athaliah did reigne ouer the land.

4 सातवें साल में पुरोहित यहोयादा ने कारी जाति के हजार सेनापतियों और अंगरक्षकों के प्रधानों को बुलवाया और इन्हें अपने साथ याहवेह के भवन में इकट्ठा किया. वहां उसने उनके साथ वाचा बांधी और उन्हें शपथ दिलाई, और उन्हें राजपुत्र के दर्शन कराएं.

And the seuenth yeere Iehoiada sent and tooke the captaines ouer hundreths, with other captaines and them of the garde, and caused them to come vnto him into the house of the Lord, and made a couenant with them, and tooke an othe of them in the house of the Lord, and shewed them the Kings sonne.

5 तब उसने उन्हें आदेश दिया, “तुम्हें यह करना होगा: तुममें से एक तिहाई सैनिक, जो शब्बाथ पर काम के लिए ठहराए गए हैं, राजमहल पर पहरा देंगे.

And he commanded them, saying, This is it that ye must doe, The third part of you, that commeth on the Sabbath, shall warde towarde the Kings house:

6 दूसरी तिहाई टुकड़ी सूर नामक द्वार पर और तीसरी तिहाई टुकड़ी पहरेदारों के पीछे के द्वार पर बारी-बारी से ठहराई गई थी.

And another third part in the gate of Sur: and another thirde part in the gate behinde them of the garde: and ye shall keepe watche in the house of Massah.

7 तुम्हारी दो टुकड़िया जो शब्बाथ पर काम के लिए ठहराई गई हैं, और जो राजा के लिए याहवेह के भवन की सुरक्षा के लिये चुनी गई हैं,

And two parts of you, that is, all that goe out on the Sabbath day, shall keepe the watch of the house of the Lord about the King.

8 राजा को घेरकर खड़ी हो जाएंगी, हर एक अपने शस्त्रों को लेकर. जो कोई सेना की पंक्ति के पास आएगा निश्चयतः मार डाला जाएगा. तुम्हें हर पल राजा के साथ साथ रहना है; उसके बाहर जाते और भीतर आते समय.”

And ye shall compasse the King rounde about, euery man with his weapon in his hande, and whosoeuer commeth within the ranges, let him be slayne: be you with the King, as he goeth out and in.

9 शतपति सेना नायकों ने पुरोहित यहोयादा की हर एक बात पूरी की. पुरोहित यहोयादा ने छुट्टी पर जा रहे किसी भी दल को शब्बाथ सेवा से अवकाश लेने न दिया. और जो सेवा के लिए आ रहे थे, वे सभी पुरोहित यहोयादा के सामने इकट्ठा हो गए.

And the captaines of the hundreths did according to all that Iehoiada the Priest commaded, and they tooke euery man his men that entred in to their charge on the Sabbath with them that went out of it on the Sabbath, and came to Iehoiada the Priest.

10 पुरोहित ने प्रधानों को वे बर्छियां और ढालें दे दीं, जो राजा दावीद के शासनकाल से याहवेह के भवन में सुरक्षित रखी गई थी.

And the Priest gaue to the captaines of hundreths the speares and the shieldes that were King Dauids, and were in the house of the Lord.

11 हर एक अंगरक्षक अपने-अपने हाथ में अपने हथियार लिए हुए भवन की दक्षिण दिशा से लेकर उत्तरी दिशा तक, वेदी के चारों ओर भवन को घेरकर खड़े हो गए.

And the garde stoode, euery man with his weapon in his hande, from the right side of the house to the left side, about the altar and about the house, round about the King.

12 फिर पुरोहित यहोयादा राजकुमार को लेकर बाहर आए, उसके सिर पर मुकुट रखा और उसे साक्षी पत्र दे दिया. तब उन्होंने उसे राजा घोषित कर उसका राजाभिषेक किया, और ताली बजाकर सबने जयघोष करते हुए कहा, “महाराज जीवित रहें!”

Then he brought out the Kings sonne, and put the crowne vpon him and gaue him the Testimonie, and they made him King: also they anoynted him, and clapt their handes, and sayde, God saue the King.

13 जब अथालियाह ने लोगों और अंगरक्षकों द्वारा किए जा रहे घोषनाद की ध्वनि सुनी, वह याहवेह के भवन में जनसमूह के बीच में आ गई.

And when Athaliah heard the noyse of the running of the people, shee came in to the people in the house of the Lord.

14 उसने देखा कि राजा खंभे के पास खड़ा हुआ था. रीति के अनुसार सेनापति और तुरही वादक राजा के पास खड़े हुए थे. राज्य के लोग हर्षोल्लास में थे, और तुरही फूंक रहे थे. अथालियाह ने अपने वस्त्र फाड़े और चिल्ला उठी, “देशद्रोह! देशद्रोह!”

And when shee looked, beholde, the King stoode by a pillar, as the maner was, and the princes and the trumpetters by the King, and al the people of the land reioyced, and blew with trumpets. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and cryed, Treason, treason.

15 तब पुरोहित यहोयादा ने सेना के शतपति सेना नायकों को आदेश दिया, “उसे सेना की पंक्तियों के बीच से निकालकर बाहर लाओ और जो जो उसके पीछे आए उसे तलवार से मार दो.” पुरोहित ने आदेश दे रखा था, “उसकी हत्या याहवेह के भवन में न की जाए.”

But Iehoiada the Priest commanded the captaines of the hundreths that had the rule of the hoste, and sayde vnto them, Haue her forth of the ranges, and he that followeth her, let him die by the sworde: for the Priest had sayd, Let her not be slaine in the house of the Lord.

16 इसलिये उन्होंने उसे पकड़ लिया और जब वह घोड़ों के लिए निर्धारित द्वार से होकर राजघराने तक पहुंची, वहां उसका वध कर दिया गया.

Then they laid hands on her, and she went by the way, by the which the horses goe to the house of the King, and there was she slaine.

17 यहोयादा ने उस अवसर पर याहवेह तथा सारी प्रजा और राजा के बीच यह वाचा स्थापित की, कि वे सिर्फ याहवेह ही को समर्पित रहेंगे. एक वाचा राजा और प्रजा के बीच भी स्थापित की गई.

And Iehoiada made a couenant betweene the Lord, and the King and the people, that they should be the Lordes people: likewise betweene the King and the people.

18 देश की सारी प्रजा बाल के भवन में गई और उसे पूरी तरह ध्वस्त कर दिया. उसकी वेदी और उसकी मूर्तियों को उन्होंने चूर-चूर कर दिया. तब उन्होंने वेदियों के सामने ही बाल के पुरोहित मत्तान का वध कर दिया. इसके बाद पुरोहित यहोयादा ने याहवेह के भवन के लिए पहरेदार बनाए गए.

Then all the people of the lande went into the house of Baal, and destroyed it with his altars, and his images brake they downe courageously, and slewe Mattan the Priest of Baal before the altars: and the Priest set a garde ouer the house of the Lord.

19 यह सब करने के बाद यहोयादा शतपति सेना नायकों, कारी सैनिकों, अंगरक्षकों और प्रजा को अपने साथ लेकर राजा को याहवेह के भवन से बाहर ले आए और वे सब पहरेदारों के द्वार से निकलते हुए राजघराने जा पहुंचे. वहां पहुंचकर राजा योआश राज सिंहासन पर बैठे.

Then he tooke the captaines of hudreths, and the other captaines, and the garde, and all the people of the lande: and they brought the King from the house of the Lord, and came by the way of the gate of the garde to the Kings house: and he sate him downe on the throne of the Kings.

20 इस पर सारी प्रजा में खुशी छा गई, और नगर में शांति भर गई. राजमहल में तलवार से अथालियाह की हत्या हुई थी, यह इसका मुख्य कारण था.

And all the people of the land reioyced, and the citie was in quiet: for they had slaine Athaliah with the sworde beside the Kings house.

21 योआश सात साल की थी, जब उन्होंने शासन करना शुरू किया.

Seuen yeere olde was Iehoash when he began to reigne.
