1 इस घटना के बाद बीस साल खत्म होते-होते, जब शलोमोन याहवेह का भवन और खुद अपने लिए राजमहल बनवा चुके,
And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the house of the Lord, and his own house,
2 उन्होंने हीराम से मिले नगरों को भी बनवाया और वहां उन्होंने इस्राएल के वंशजों को बसा दिया.
That [as regardeth] the cities which Churam had restored to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
3 तब शलोमोन ने जाकर हामाथ-ज़ोबाह को अपने अधीन कर लिया.
And Solomon went to Chamath-zobah, and prevailed against it.
4 शलोमोन ने बंजर भूमि में तादमोर का और हामाथ क्षेत्र में भंडार नगरों को बनवाया.
And he built Thadmor in the wilderness, and all the treasure-cities, which he built in Chamath.
5 इनके अलावा उन्होंने ऊंचे बेथ-होरोन और निचले बेथ-होरोन, को बनवाया. ये गढ़नगर थे, जिनमें शहरपनाह, फाटक और छड़ें बनाई गई थी.
And he built the upper Beth-choron, and the lower Beth-choron, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
6 शलोमोन ने बालाथ और दूसरे भण्ड़ार नगरों को भी बनवाया जहां उनके रथ, घोड़े और घुड़सवार रखे गए थे. इनके अलावा उन्होंने येरूशलेम, लबानोन और सारे देश में अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार भवन बनवाए.
And Ba'alath, and all the treasure-cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for chariots, and the cities for horsemen, and all the [other] desire of Solomon which he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in the Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.
7 देश में अब भी कुछ ऐसे लोग रह रहे थे, जो इस्राएल के वंशज नहीं थे. ये हित्ती, अमोरी परिज्ज़ी, हिव्वी और यबूसी वंश के लोग थे.
All the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Emorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel,
8 वास्तव में ये उन राष्ट्रों के वंशज थे, जिन्हें इस्राएलियों ने नाश नहीं किया था. तब शलोमोन ने इन सबको बेगार में रख लिया. ये सब आज तक इसी पद पर काम करते हैं.
Out of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel had not destroyed—these did Solomon levy as tributary [laborers] until this day.
9 मगर शलोमोन ने किसी भी इस्राएली को अपने काम के लिए दास नहीं बनाया. वे सैनिक बनाए जाते थे, उन्हें सैन्य अधिकारी बनाया जाता था: योद्धा, कप्तान, रथ, हाकिम और घुड़सवार.
Yet of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen for his work; but they were men of war, and chiefs of his captains; and officers of his chariots and of his horsemen.
10 राजा शलोमोन ने दो सौ पचास व्यक्तियों को इन सबके ऊपर हाकिमों के पद पर चुन लिया था.
And these were the chiefs of the superintendents whom king Solomon had, [even] two hundred and fifty, who ruled over the people.
11 इसके बाद शलोमोन दावीद के नगर से फ़रोह की पुत्री को उसी के लिए बनाए गए भवन में ले आए. उनका विचार था, “मेरी पत्नी का घर इस्राएल के राजा दावीद के भवन में नहीं होगा, क्योंकि जहां-जहां याहवेह के संदूक का प्रवेश हुआ है, वह स्थान पवित्र स्थान है.”
And the daughter of Pharaoh did Solomon bring up out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her; for he said, No wife of mine shall dwell in a house of David the king of Israel, because they are holy, because there came [once] unto them the ark of the Lord.
12 इसके बाद शलोमोन ने याहवेह की वेदी, जो उन्होंने ओसारे में बनवाई थी, उस पर याहवेह को होमबलि चढ़ाई,
Then did Solomon offer burnt-offerings unto the Lord on the altar of the Lord, which he had built before the porch,
13 जैसा कि व्यवस्था में मोशेह द्वारा शब्बाथों, नए चांद के उत्सवों और तीन वार्षिक उत्सवों-खमीररहित रोटी का उत्सव, सप्ताहों के उत्सव और कुटीरों के उत्सव के लिए आदेश दिया गया है.
Even according to what was the due of [every] day on its day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new-moons, and on the stated festivals, three times in the year, on the feast of unleavened bread, and on the feast of weeks, and on the feast of tabernacles.
14 जैसा उनके पिता दावीद ने आज्ञा दी थी, शलोमोन ने पुरोहितों के दलों को उनके लिए ठहराए गए रोज़ के काम करने के लिए, लेवियों को आराधना करने और पुरोहितों की सहायता करने के लिए और द्वारपालों के दलों को उनके लिए ठहराए गए द्वारों पर सेवा करने के लिए चुन लिया. परमेश्वर के जन दावीद ने यही आदेश दिया था.
And he stationed, according to the prescription of David his father, the divisions of the priests at their service, and the Levites at their stations, to praise and minister next to the priests, in the requirement of every day on its day, and the gate-keepers in their divisions at every gate; for so was the charge of David the man of God.
15 वे राजा द्वारा पुरोहितों और लेवियों को दिए गए किसी भी विषय के या भंडार घरों से संबंधित आदेश से ज़रा भी अलग न हुए.
And they departed not from the charge of the king concerning the priests and Levites respecting every matter, and respecting the treasuries.
16 इस प्रकार शलोमोन द्वारा शुरू किया गया सारा काम पूरा हुआ. उस दिन से शुरू हुआ काम, जब याहवेह के भवन की नींव रखी गई थी और जिस दिन बनाने का काम पूरा हो गया, तब याहवेह के भवन का काम पूरा हुआ.
And [so] was all the work of Solomon successful from the day of founding the house of the Lord, even until it was finished. [So] was perfected the house of the Lord.
17 तब शलोमोन एदोम देश में सागर तट पर बसे नगर एज़िओन-गेबेर और एलाथ को गए.
Then went Solomon to 'Ezyon-geber, and to Eloth, at the sea-shore in the land of Edom.
18 राजा हीराम ने बेड़े के साथ अपने सेवक भेज दिए. इनमें ऐसे सेवक थे, जिन्हें समुद्र का ज्ञान था. इनके साथ शलोमोन के सेवक भी थे ये सभी ओफीर नगर को गए और वहां से वे लगभग पन्द्रह हज़ार किलो सोना लाए. उन्होंने यह शलोमोन को भेंट कर दिया.
And Churam sent him by means of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and they fetched away thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought the same to king Solomon.
