1 तब शलोमोन ने यह कहा: “याहवेह ने यह प्रकट किया है कि वह घने बादल में रहना सही समझते हैं.
Then Solomon declared: “The LORD has said that He would dwell in the thick cloud;
2 आपके लिए मैंने एक ऐसा भव्य भवन बनवाया है कि आप उसमें हमेशा रहें.”
and I have built You an exalted house, a place for You to dwell forever.”
3 यह कहकर राजा ने सारी इस्राएली प्रजा की ओर होकर उनको आशीर्वाद दिया, इस अवसर पर सारी इस्राएली सभा खड़ी हुई थी.
And as the whole assembly of Israel stood there, the king turned around and blessed them all
4 राजा ने यह कहा: “धन्य हैं याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर! उन्होंने मेरे पिता दावीद से अपने मुख से कहे गए इस वचन को अपने हाथों से पूरा कर दिया है
and said: “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who has fulfilled with His own hand what He spoke with His mouth to my father David, saying,
5 ‘जिस दिन मैं अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल को मिस्र देश से बाहर लाया हूं, उसी दिन से मैंने इस्राएल के सभी गोत्रों में से ऐसे किसी भी नगर को नहीं चुना, जहां एक ऐसा भवन बनाया जाए जहां मेरी महिमा का वास हो; वैसे ही मैंने अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल का प्रधान होने के लिए किसी व्यक्ति को भी नहीं चुना;
‘Since the day I brought My people out of the land of Egypt, I have not chosen a city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house so that My Name would be there, nor have I chosen anyone to be ruler over My people Israel.
6 हां, मैंने येरूशलेम को चुना कि वहां मेरी महिमा ठहरे और मैंने दावीद को चुना कि वह मेरी प्रजा इस्राएल का राजा हो.’
But now I have chosen Jerusalem for My Name to be there, and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.’
7 “मेरे पिता दावीद की इच्छा थी कि वह याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिए भवन बनवाएं.
Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
8 किंतु याहवेह ने मेरे पिता दावीद से कहा, ‘तुम्हारे मन में मेरे लिए भवन के निर्माण का आना एक उत्तम विचार है,
But the LORD said to my father David, ‘Since it was in your heart to build a house for My Name, you have done well to have this in your heart.
9 फिर भी, इस भवन को तुम नहीं, बल्कि वह पुत्र, जो तुमसे पैदा होगा, मेरी महिमा के लिए भवन बनाएगा.’
Nevertheless, you are not the one to build it; but your son, your own offspring, will build the house for My Name.’
10 “आज याहवेह ने अपनी प्रतिज्ञा पूरी की है. क्योंकि अब, जैसी याहवेह ने प्रतिज्ञा की थी, मैं दावीद मेरे पिता का उत्तराधिकारी बनकर इस्राएल के राज सिंहासन पर बैठा हूं, और मैंने याहवेह इस्राएल के परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिए इस भवन को बनवाया है.
Now the LORD has fulfilled the word that He spoke. I have succeeded my father David, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised. I have built the house for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
11 मैंने इस भवन में वह संदूक स्थापित कर दिया है, जिसमें याहवेह की वह वाचा है, जो उन्होंने इस्राएल के वंश से स्थापित की थी.”
And there I have provided a place for the ark, which contains the covenant of the LORD that He made with the children of Israel.”
12 इसके बाद शलोमोन सारी इस्राएल की सभा के देखते हाथों को फैलाकर याहवेह की वेदी के सामने खड़े हो गए.
Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in front of the whole assembly of Israel and spread out his hands.
13 शलोमोन ने सवा दो मीटर लंबा, सवा दो मीटर चौड़ा और एक मीटर पैंतीस सेंटीमीटर ऊंचा कांसे का एक मंच बनाया था, जिसे उन्होंने आंगन के बीच में स्थापित कर रखा था. वह इसी पर जा खड़े हुए, उन्होंने इस्राएल की सारी प्रजा के सामने इस पर घुटने टेक अपने हाथ स्वर्ग की दिशा में फैला दिए.
Now Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had placed it in the middle of the courtyard. He stood on it, knelt down before the whole assembly of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven,
14 तब शलोमोन ने विनती की: “याहवेह इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, आपके तुल्य परमेश्वर न तो कोई ऊपर स्वर्ग में है और न यहां नीचे धरती पर, जो अपने उन सेवकों पर अपना अपार प्रेम दिखाते हुए अपनी वाचा को पूर्ण करता है, जिनका जीवन आपके प्रति पूरी तरह समर्पित है.
and said: “O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven or on earth, keeping Your covenant of loving devotion with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.
15 आपने अपने सेवक, मेरे पिता दावीद को जो वचन दिया था, उसे पूरा किया है. वस्तुतः आज आपने अपने शब्द को सच्चाई में बदल दिया है. आपके सेवक दावीद से की गई अपनी वह प्रतिज्ञा पूरी करें, जो आपने उनसे इन शब्दों में की थी.
You have kept Your promise to Your servant, my father David. What You spoke with Your mouth You have fulfilled with Your hand this day.
16 “तब अब इस्राएल के परमेश्वर, याहवेह, आपके सेवक मेरे पिता दावीद के लिए अपनी यह प्रतिज्ञा पूरी कीजिए. ‘मेरे सामने इस्राएल के सिंहासन पर तुम्हारे उत्तराधिकारी की कोई कमी न होगी, सिर्फ यदि तुम्हारे पुत्र सावधानीपूर्वक मेरे सामने अपने आचरण के विषय में सच्चे रहें—ठीक जिस प्रकार तुम्हारा आचरण मेरे सामने सच्चा रहा है.’
Therefore now, O LORD, God of Israel, keep for Your servant, my father David, what You promised when You said: ‘You will never fail to have a man to sit before Me on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants guard their way to walk in My law as you have walked before Me.’
17 इसलिये अब, याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर आपकी प्रतिज्ञा पूरी हो जाए, जो आपने अपने सेवक दावीद से की है.
And now, O LORD, God of Israel, please confirm what You promised to Your servant David.
18 “मगर क्या यह संभव है कि परमेश्वर पृथ्वी पर मनुष्यों के बीच निवास करें? देखिए, आकाश और ऊंचे स्वर्ग तक आपको अपने में समा नहीं सकते; तो फिर यह भवन क्या है, जिसको मैंने बनवाया है?
But will God indeed dwell with man upon the earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You, much less this temple I have built.
19 फिर भी अपने सेवक की विनती और प्रार्थना का ध्यान रखिए. याहवेह, मेरे परमेश्वर, इस दोहाई को, इस गिड़गिड़ाहट को सुन लीजिए जो आज आपका सेवक आपके सामने प्रस्तुत कर रहा है.
Yet regard the prayer and plea of Your servant, O LORD my God, so that You may hear the cry and the prayer that Your servant is praying before You.
20 कि यह भवन दिन-रात हमेशा आपकी दृष्टि में बना रहे, उस स्थान पर, जिसके बारे में आपने कहा था कि आप वहां अपनी महिमा की स्थापना करेंगे, कि आप उस प्रार्थना पर ध्यान दें, जो आपका सेवक इसकी ओर फिरकर करेगा.
May Your eyes be open toward this temple day and night, toward the place where You said You would put Your Name, so that You may hear the prayer that Your servant prays toward this place.
21 अपने सेवक और अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल की विनतियों को सुन लीजिए जब वे इस स्थान की ओर मुंह कर आपसे करते हैं, और स्वर्ग, अपने घर से इसे सुनें और जब आप यह सुनें, आप उन्हें क्षमा प्रदान करें.
Hear the plea of Your servant and of Your people Israel when they pray toward this place. May You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place. May You hear and forgive.
22 “यदि कोई व्यक्ति अपने पड़ोसी के विरुद्ध पाप करता है, और उसे शपथ लेने के लिए विवश किया जाता है और वह आकर इस भवन में आपकी वेदी के सामने शपथ लेता है,
When a man sins against his neighbor and is required to take an oath, and he comes to take an oath before Your altar in this temple,
23 तब आप स्वर्ग से सुनें, और अपने सेवकों का न्याय करें, दुराचारी का दंड उसके दुराचार को उसी पर प्रभावी करने के द्वारा दें और सदाचारी को उसके सदाचार का प्रतिफल देने के द्वारा.
then may You hear from heaven and act. May You judge Your servants, condemning the wicked man by bringing down on his own head what he has done, and justifying the righteous man by rewarding him according to his righteousness.
24 “यदि आपकी प्रजा इस्राएल शत्रुओं द्वारा इसलिये हार जाए, कि उन्होंने आपके विरुद्ध पाप किया है और तब वे लौटकर आपकी ओर फिरते हैं, आपके प्रति दोबारा सच्चे होकर इस भवन में आपके सामने आकर विनती और प्रार्थना करते हैं,
When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and they return to You and confess Your name, praying and pleading before You in this temple,
25 तब स्वर्ग से यह सुनकर अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल का पाप क्षमा कर दीजिए और उन्हें उस देश में लौटा ले आइए, जो आपने उन्हें और उनके पूर्वजों को दिया है.
then may You hear from heaven and forgive the sin of Your people Israel. May You restore them to the land You gave to them and their fathers.
26 “जब आप बारिश इसलिये रोक दें कि आपकी प्रजा ने आपके विरुद्ध पाप किया है और फिर, जब वे इस स्थान की ओर फिरकर प्रार्थना करें और आपके प्रति सच्चे हो, जब आप उन्हें सताएं, और वे पाप से फिर जाएं;
When the skies are shut and there is no rain because Your people have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and confess Your name, and they turn from their sins because You have afflicted them,
27 तब स्वर्ग में अपने सेवकों और अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल की दोहाई सुनकर उनका पाप क्षमा कर दें. वस्तुतः आप उन्हें उन अच्छे मार्ग पर चलने की शिक्षा दें. फिर अपनी भूमि पर बारिश भेजें—उस भूमि पर जिसे आपने उत्तराधिकार के रूप में अपनी प्रजा को प्रदान किया है.
then may You hear from heaven and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, so that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk. May You send rain on the land that You gave Your people as an inheritance.
28 “यदि देश में अकाल आता है, यदि यहां महामारी फैली हुई हो, यदि यहां उपज में गेरुआ अथवा फफूंदी लगे, यदि यहां टिड्डियों अथवा टिड्डों का हमला हो जाए, यदि उनके शत्रु उन्हें उन्हीं के देश में उन्हीं के नगरों में घेर लें, यहां कोई भी महामारी या रोग का हमला हो,
When famine or plague comes upon the land, or blight or mildew or locusts or grasshoppers, or when their enemies besiege them in their cities, whatever plague or sickness may come,
29 किसी व्यक्ति या आपकी प्रजा इस्राएल के द्वारा उनके दुःख और पीड़ा की स्थिति में इस भवन की ओर हाथ फैलाकर कैसी भी प्रार्थना या विनती की जाए,
then may whatever prayer or petition Your people Israel make—each knowing his own afflictions and spreading out his hands toward this temple—
30 आप अपने घर, स्वर्ग से इसे सुनिए और क्षमा दीजिए और हर एक को, जिसके मन को आप भली-भांति जानते हैं, क्योंकि सिर्फ आपके ही सामने मानव का मन उघाड़ा रहता है, उसके आचरण के अनुसार प्रतिफल दीजिए,
be heard by You from heaven, Your dwelling place. And may You forgive and repay each man according to all his ways, since You know his heart—for You alone know the hearts of men—
31 कि वे आपके प्रति इस देश में रहते हुए जो आपने उनके पूर्वजों को प्रदान किया है, आजीवन श्रद्धा बनाए रखें, और अपने जीवन भर आपकी नीतियों का पालन करते रहें.
so that they may fear You and walk in Your ways all the days they live in the land that You gave to our fathers.
32 “इसी प्रकार जब कोई परदेशी, जो आपकी प्रजा इस्राएल में से नहीं है, आपकी महिमा आपके महाकार्य और आपकी महाशक्ति के विषय में सुनकर वे यहां ज़रूर आएंगे; तब, जब वह विदेशी यहां आकर इस भवन की ओर होकर प्रार्थना करे,
And as for the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of Your great name and Your mighty hand and outstretched arm—when he comes and prays toward this temple,
33 तब अपने आवास स्वर्ग में सुनकर उन सभी विनतियों को पूरा करें, जिसकी याचना उस परदेशी ने की है, कि पृथ्वी के सभी मनुष्यों को आपकी महिमा का ज्ञान हो जाए, उनमें आपके प्रति भय जाग जाए—जैसा आपकी प्रजा इस्राएल में है और उन्हें यह अहसास हो जाए कि यह आपकी महिमा में मेरे द्वारा बनाया गया भवन है.
then may You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You. Then all the peoples of the earth will know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and they will know that this house I have built is called by Your Name.
34 “जब आपकी प्रजा उनके शत्रुओं से युद्ध के लिए आपके द्वारा भेजी जाए-आप उन्हें चाहे कहीं भी भेजें-वे आपके ही द्वारा चुने इस नगर और इस भवन की ओर, जिसको मैंने बनवाया है, मुख करके प्रार्थना करें,
When Your people go to war against their enemies, wherever You send them, and when they pray to You in the direction of the city You have chosen and the house I have built for Your Name,
35 तब स्वर्ग में उनकी प्रार्थना और अनुरोध सुनकर उनके पक्ष में निर्णय करें.
then may You hear from heaven their prayer and their plea, and may You uphold their cause.
36 “जब वे आपके विरुद्ध पाप करें-वास्तव में तो कोई भी मनुष्य ऐसा नहीं जिसने पाप किया ही न हो और आप उन पर क्रोधित हो जाएं और उन्हें किसी शत्रु के अधीन कर दें, कि शत्रु उन्हें बंदी बनाकर किसी दूर या पास के देश में ले जाए;
When they sin against You—for there is no one who does not sin—and You become angry with them and deliver them to an enemy who takes them as captives to a land far or near,
37 फिर भी यदि वे उस बंदिता के देश में चेत कर पश्चाताप करें, और अपने बंधुआई के देश में यह कहते हुए दोहाई दें, ‘हमने पाप किया है, हमने कुटिलता और दुष्टता भरे काम किए हैं’;
and when they come to their senses in the land to which they were taken, and they repent and plead with You in the land of their captors, saying, ‘We have sinned and done wrong; we have acted wickedly,’
38 यदि वे बंधुआई के उस देश में, जहां उन्हें ले जाया गया है, सच्चे हृदय और संपूर्ण प्राणों से इस देश की ओर, जिसे आपने उनके पूर्वजों को दिया है, उस नगर की ओर जिसे आपने चुना है और इस भवन की ओर, जिसको मैंने आपके लिए बनवाया है, मुंह करके प्रार्थना करें;
and when they return to You with all their heart and soul in the land of the enemies who took them captive, and when they pray in the direction of the land that You gave to their fathers, the city You have chosen, and the house I have built for Your Name,
39 तब अपने घर स्वर्ग से उनकी प्रार्थना और विनती सुनिए और वही होने दीजिए, जो सही है और अपनी प्रजा को, जिसने आपके विरुद्ध पाप किया है, क्षमा कर दीजिए.
then may You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, their prayer and petition, and may You uphold their cause. May You forgive Your people who sinned against You.
40 “अब, मेरे परमेश्वर, मेरी विनती है कि इस स्थान में की गई प्रार्थना के प्रति आपकी आंखें खुली और आपके कान सचेत बने रहें.
Now, my God, may Your eyes be open and Your ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.
41 “इसलिये अब, याहवेह परमेश्वर, खुद आप और आपकी शक्ति संदूक,
Now therefore, arise, O LORD God, and enter Your resting place, You and the ark of Your might. May Your priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and may Your godly ones rejoice in goodness.
42 याहवेह परमेश्वर अपने अभिषिक्त की प्रार्थना अनसुनी न कीजिए.
O LORD God, do not reject Your anointed one. Remember Your loving devotion to Your servant David.”
