1 तीमुथियुस 4

1 पवित्र आत्मा का स्पष्ट कथन यह है कि अंत के समय में कुछ व्यक्ति विश्वास का त्याग कर देंगे और वे धूर्त आत्माओं तथा दुष्टात्माओं की शिक्षाओं पर मन लगाएंगे.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 यह उन झूठे मनुष्यों के दिखावे की शिक्षाओं के कारण होगा, जिनके विवेक में मानो जलते हुए लोहे से मुहर लगा दी गई हों.

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 ये वे हैं, जो विवाह करने से रोकते हैं, भोजन पदार्थों को भी त्यागने की मांग करते हैं, जिन्हें परमेश्वर ने विश्वासियों और सच्चाई को जानने वाले व्यक्तियों की भलाई के लिए इसलिये बनाया है कि धन्यवाद के साथ मिलजुल कर खाया जाएं.

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which YHWH hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

4 परमेश्वर की बनाई हुई हर एक वस्तु अच्छी है, कोई भी वस्तु अस्वीकार करने योग्य नहीं—यदि उसे धन्यवाद के साथ स्वीकार किया जाएं,

For every creature of YHWH is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 क्योंकि वह परमेश्वर के वचन तथा प्रार्थना द्वारा शुद्ध की जाती है.

For it is sanctified by the word of YHWH and prayer.

6 विश्वासी भाई बहनों को इन बातों का अहसास कराने के द्वारा तुम स्वयं को मसीह येशु का आदर्श सेवक साबित करोगे, जिसका पोषण निरंतर विश्वास के वचन तथा अच्छे उपदेशों की बातों के द्वारा होता है, जिसका तुम पालन करते आए हो.

If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Yahushua the Messiah, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

7 सांसारिक तथा काल्पनिक कथाओं से दूर रहो, इसके विपरीत तुम अपने आपको परमेश्वर की भक्ति के लिए अनुशासित कर लो.

But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto righteousness.

8 शारीरिक व्यायाम सिर्फ थोड़े लाभ का है जबकि परमेश्वर भक्ति का लाभ सब बातों में है क्योंकि वह जीवन का आश्वासन देती है—इस समय और आनेवाले जीवन, दोनों का.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but reverence is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

9 यह बात सच है, जो हर प्रकार से मानने योग्य है:

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

10 हम उसी के लिए परिश्रम तथा संघर्ष करते हैं क्योंकि हमने अपनी आशा जीवित परमेश्वर पर लगाई है, जो सब मनुष्यों के उद्धारकर्ता हैं, विशेषकर उनके, जो विश्वास करते हैं.

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living Elohim, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

11 तुम्हारे आदेशों और शिक्षाओं के विषय ये ही हों.

These things command and teach.

12 तुलना में कम आयु के कारण कोई तुम्हें तुच्छ न समझे परंतु बातचीत, स्वभाव, प्रेम, विश्वास तथा पवित्रता में मसीह के विश्वासियों का आदर्श बनो.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13 मेरे वहां पहुंचने तक पवित्र शास्त्र के सार्वजनिक रीति से पढ़ने, उपदेश तथा शिक्षा पाने में लीन रहो.

Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

14 अंदर बसे हुए पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा दी गई क्षमता की उपेक्षा न करो, जो तुम्हें भविष्यवाणी के द्वारा उस समय प्रदान की गई, जब कलीसिया के पुरनियों ने तुम पर हाथ रखे.

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

15 इन निर्देशों पर विशेष ध्यान दो, इनमें लीन हो जाओ कि तुम्हारी उन्‍नति सब पर प्रकट हो जाए.

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 अपने जीवन और शिक्षा का पूरी शक्ति से ध्यान रखो. इसमें लगातार चौकस रहो क्योंकि तुम ऐसा करने के द्वारा दोनों का उद्धार निश्चित करोगे—स्वयं अपना तथा अपने सुननेवालों का.

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
