1 तीमुथियुस 1

1 परमेश्वर हमारे उद्धारकर्ता तथा हमारी आशा मसीह येशु की आज्ञा के अनुसार मसीह येशु के प्रेरित पौलॉस की ओर से,

PAUL, a legate of Jesus the Messiah, by the command of God our life-giver, and of the Messiah, Jesus our hope;

2 विश्वास में मेरे वास्तविक पुत्र तिमोथियॉस को: पिता परमेश्वर तथा हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह की ओर से अनुग्रह, कृपा और शांति.

to Timothy, my true son in the faith: grace and mercy and peace, from God our Father, and the Messiah, Jesus our Lord.

3 मैंने मकेदोनिया प्रदेश जाते समय तुमसे विनती की थी कि, तुम इफ़ेसॉस नगर में ही रह जाओ और कुछ बताए हुए व्यक्तियों को चेतावनी दो कि वे न तो भरमानेवाली शिक्षा दें

When I was going into Macedonia, I requested thee to remain at Ephesus, and to charge certain persons not to teach different doctrines;

4 और न पुरानी कहानियों और अंतहीन वंशावलियों में लीन रहें. इनसे विश्वास पर आधारित परमेश्वर की योजना के उन्‍नत होने की बजाय मतभेद उत्पन्‍न होता है.

and not to throw themselves into fables and stories about genealogies, of which there is no end, which produce contention rather than edification in the faith of God.

5 हमारी आज्ञा का उद्देश्य है निर्मल हृदय से उत्पन्‍न प्रेम, शुद्ध अंतरात्मा तथा निष्कपट विश्वास.

Now the end of the command is love, which is from a pure heart, and from a good conscience, and from true faith.

6 कुछ हैं, जो रास्ते से भटक कर व्यर्थ के वाद-विवाद में फंस गए हैं.

But from these some have strayed, and have turned aside to vain words;

7 वे व्यवस्था के शिक्षक बनने की अभिलाषा तो करते हैं परंतु वे जो कहते हैं और जिन विषयों का वे दृढ़ विश्वासपूर्वक दावा करते हैं, स्वयं ही उन्हें नहीं समझते.

because they wished to be teachers of the law, while they understood not what they speak, nor the thing about which they contend.

8 हमें यह मालूम है कि व्यवस्था भली है—यदि इसका प्रयोग उचित रीति से किया जाए.

Now, we know, that the law is a good thing, if a man conduct himself in it, according to the law,

9 इस सच्चाई के प्रकाश में कि व्यवस्था का बनाया जाना धर्मियों के लिए नहीं परंतु अधर्मी, निरंकुश, दुराचारी, पापी, अपवित्र, ठग, माता-पिता के घात करनेवाले, हत्यारे,

he knowing that the law was not established for the righteous, but for the evil, and the rebellious, and the ungodly, and the sinful, and the perverse and for the impure, and for smiters of their fathers and smiters of their mothers, and for murderers,

10 व्यभिचारी, समलैंगिक, अपहरण करनेवाले, झूठ बोलनेवाले, झूठे गवाह तथा शेष सब कुछ के लिए किया गया है, जो निर्मल उपदेश के विरोध में है.

and for whoremongers, and for copulators with males, and for the stealers of free people, and for liars, and for violators of oaths, and for whatever is contrary to sound doctrine,

11 वह धन्य परमेश्वर के गौरवान्वित ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार के अनुसार है, जो मुझे सौंपी गई है.

namely that of the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I am intrusted.

12 मैं हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह के प्रति, जिन्होंने मुझे सामर्थ्य प्रदान किया है, धन्यवाद करता हूं कि उन्होंने मुझे विश्वासयोग्य समझा और अपनी सेवा में चुना.

And I thank him who strengthened me, even our Lord Jesus the Messiah; who accounted me faithful, and appointed me to his ministry;

13 हालांकि पहले मैं परमेश्वर की निंदा करनेवाला था, अत्याचारी तथा अधर्मी था किंतु मुझ पर कृपा की गई क्योंकि अपनी अज्ञानता में उनमें अविश्वास के कारण मैंने यह सब किया था.

me I say, who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and a reviler; but I obtained mercy, because I did it while ignorant and without faith.

14 मसीह येशु में हमारे प्रभु का बहुत अधिक अनुग्रह विश्वास और प्रेम के साथ मुझ पर हुआ.

And in me the grace of our Lord abounded, and faith and love, which is in Jesus the Messiah.

15 यह बात सच है, जो हर प्रकार से मानने योग्य है: मसीह येशु पापियों के उद्धार के लिए संसार में आए. इनमें सबसे बड़ा पापी मैं हूं.

Faithful is the declaration, and worthy to be received, that Jesus the Messiah came into the world to give life to sinners, of whom I was the primary.

16 किंतु मुझ पर कृपा इसलिये हुई कि मुझ बड़े पापी में मसीह येशु आदर्श के रूप में अपनी पूरी सहनशीलता का प्रमाण उनके हित में प्रस्तुत करें, जो अनंत जीवन के लिए उनमें विश्वास करेंगे. (aiōnios g166)

But for this cause had he mercy on me, that in me first Jesus the Messiah might display all his long suffering, for an example to them who were to believe on him unto life eternal. (aiōnios g166)

17 सनातन राजा, अविनाशी, अनदेखे तथा एकमात्र परमेश्वर का आदर और महिमा सदा-सर्वदा होती रहे, आमेन. (aiōn g165)

And to the king eternal, incorruptible, and invisible, the sole God, be honor and glory for ever and ever! Amen. (aiōn g165)

18 मेरे पुत्र, तिमोथियॉस, मैं तुम्हें यह आज्ञा तुम्हारे विषय में पहले से की गई भविष्यवाणियों के अनुसार सौंप रहा हूं कि उनकी प्रेरणा से तुम निरंतर संघर्ष कर सको,

This injunction I commit to thee, my son Timothy, according to the former predictions concerning thee, that in them thou mightest war this good warfare,

19 तथा विश्वास और अच्छे विवेक को थामे रखो, कुछ ने जिसकी उपेक्षा की और अपने विश्वास का सर्वनाश कर बैठे.

in faith and a good conscience; for they who have repudiated this, have become destitute of faith;

20 ह्यूमैनेऑस तथा अलेक्सान्दरॉस इन्हीं में से हैं, जिन्हें मैंने शैतान को सौंप दिया है कि उन्हें परमेश्वर-निंदा न करने का पाठ सिखा दिया जाए.

like Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I have delivered up to Satan, that they may learn not to be blasphemers.
