1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5
1 प्रिय भाई बहनो, इसकी कोई ज़रूरत नहीं कि तुम्हें समयों और कालों के विषय में लिखा जाए,
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that ye should be written to,
2 तुम्हें यह भली प्रकार मालूम है कि प्रभु के दिन का आगमन ठीक वैसा ही अचानक होगा जैसा रात में एक चोर का.
for ye know perfectly well yourselves, that the day of [the] Lord so comes as a thief by night.
3 लोग कह रहे होंगे, “सब कुशल है, कोई संकट है ही नहीं!” उसी समय बिना किसी पहले से जानकारी के उन पर विनाश टूट पड़ेगा—गर्भवती की प्रसव पीड़ा के समान, उनका भाग निकलना असंभव होगा.
When they may say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon her that is with child; and they shall in no wise escape.
4 किंतु तुम, प्रिय भाई बहनो, इस विषय में अंधकार में नहीं हो कि वह दिन तुम पर एकाएक एक चोर के समान अचानक से आ पड़े.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief:
5 तुम सभी ज्योति की संतान हो—दिन के वंशज. हम न तो रात के हैं और न अंधकार के,
for all ye are sons of light and sons of day; we are not of night nor of darkness.
6 इसलिये हम, बाकियों के समान सोए हुए नहीं परंतु सावधान और व्यवस्थित रहें.
So then do not let us sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober;
7 क्योंकि वे, जो सोते हैं, रात में सोते हैं और वे, जो मतवाले होते हैं, रात में ही मतवाले होते हैं.
for they that sleep sleep by night, and they that drink drink by night;
8 अब इसलिये कि हम दिन के बने हुए हैं, हम विश्वास और प्रेम का कवच तथा उद्धार की आशा का टोप धारण कर व्यवस्थित हो जाएं.
but we being of [the] day, let us be sober, putting on [the] breastplate of faith and love, and as helmet [the] hope of salvation;
9 परमेश्वर द्वारा हम क्रोध के लिए नहीं परंतु हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह द्वारा उद्धार पाने के लिए ठहराए गए हैं.
because God has not set us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 जिन्होंने हमारे लिए प्राण त्याग दिया, कि चाहे हम जागते हों या सोते हों, उनके साथ निवास करें.
who has died for us, that whether we may be watching or sleep, we may live together with him.
11 इसलिये तुम, जैसा इस समय कर ही रहे हो, एक दूसरे को आपस में प्रोत्साहित तथा उन्नत करने में लगे रहो.
Wherefore encourage one another, and build up each one the other, even as also ye do.
12 प्रिय भाई बहनो, तुमसे हमारी विनती है कि तुम उनकी सराहना करो, जो तुम्हारे बीच लगन से परिश्रम कर रहे हैं, जो प्रभु में तुम्हारे लिए ज़िम्मेदार हैं तथा तुम्हें शिक्षा देते हैं.
But we beg you, brethren, to know those who labour among you, and take the lead among you in [the] Lord, and admonish you,
13 उनके परिश्रम को ध्यान में रखते हुए उन्हें प्रेमपूर्वक ऊंचा सम्मान दो. आपस में मेल-मिलाप बनाए रखो.
and to regard them exceedingly in love on account of their work. Be in peace among yourselves.
14 प्रिय भाई बहनो, हम तुमसे विनती करते हैं कि जो बिगड़े हुए हैं, उन्हें फटकार लगाओ; जो डरे हुए हैं, उन्हें ढाढस दो, दुर्बलों की सहायता करो तथा सभी के साथ धीरजवान बने रहो.
But we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, sustain the weak, be patient towards all.
15 यह ध्यान रखो कि कोई भी बुराई का बदला बुराई से न लेने पाए किंतु हमेशा वही करने का प्रयास करो, जिसमें पारस्परिक और सभी का भला हो.
See that no one render to any evil for evil, but pursue always what is good towards one another and towards all;
16 हमेशा आनंदित रहो,
rejoice always;
17 प्रार्थना लगातार की जाए,
pray unceasingly;
18 हर एक परिस्थिति में धन्यवाद प्रकट किया जाए; क्योंकि मसीह येशु में तुमसे परमेश्वर की यही आशा है.
in everything give thanks, for this is [the] will of God in Christ Jesus towards you;
19 पवित्र आत्मा को न बुझाओ.
quench not the Spirit;
20 भविष्यवाणियों को तुच्छ न समझो
do not lightly esteem prophecies;
21 परंतु हर एक को सावधानीपूर्वक बारीकी से जांचो तथा उसे, जो अच्छा है, थामे रहो.
but prove all things, hold fast the right;
22 बुराई का उसके हर एक रूप में बहिष्कार करो.
hold aloof from every form of wickedness.
23 अंततः परमेश्वर, जो शांति के स्रोत हैं, तुम्हें पूरी तरह अपने लिए बुराई से अलग करने तथा तुम्हारी आत्मा, प्राण तथा शरीर को पूरी तरह से हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह के दोबारा आगमन के अवसर तक निर्दोष रूप में सुरक्षित रखें.
Now the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly: and your whole spirit, and soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 सच्चे हैं वह, जिन्होंने तुम्हें बुलाया है. वही इसको पूरा भी करेंगे.
He [is] faithful who calls you, who will also perform [it].
25 प्रिय भाई बहनो, हमारे लिए प्रार्थना करते रहना.
Brethren, pray for us.
26 पवित्र चुंबन से एक दूसरे को नमस्कार करो.
Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 प्रभु में हमारी यह आज्ञा है कि यह पत्र सब भाई बहनों के सामने पढ़ा जाए.
I adjure you by the Lord that the letter be read to all the [holy] brethren.
28 तुम पर हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह की कृपा बनी रहे.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you.
