1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2
1 प्रिय भाई बहनो, तुम्हें यह अहसास तो है ही कि तुमसे भेंट करने के लिए हमारा आना व्यर्थ नहीं था.
For yourselves know, brethren, our entrance among you, that it was not in vain.
2 जैसा कि तुम्हें मालूम ही है कि फ़िलिप्पॉय नगर में दुःख उठाने और उपद्रव सहने के बाद घोर विरोध की स्थिति में भी तुम्हें परमेश्वर का ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार सुनाने के लिए हमें परमेश्वर के द्वारा साहस प्राप्त हुआ.
For although we had before suffered, and were shamefully handled, as you know, at Philippi, we were bold, through our God, to speak to you the gospel of God, amidst a great combat.
3 हमारा उपदेश न तो भरमा देनेवाली शिक्षा थी, न अशुद्ध उद्देश्य से प्रेरित और न ही छलावा.
Besides, our exhortation was not from error, nor from impurity, nor with guile.
4 परंतु ठीक जिस प्रकार परमेश्वर के समर्थन में हमें ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार सौंपा गया. हम मनुष्यों की प्रसन्नता के लिए नहीं परंतु परमेश्वर की संतुष्टि के लिए, जिनकी दृष्टि हृदय पर लगी रहती है, ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार का संबोधन करते हैं.
But as we were approved of God, to be intrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, who tries our hearts.
5 यह तो तुम्हें मालूम ही है कि न तो हमारी बातों में चापलूसी थी और न ही हमने लोभ से प्रेरित हो कुछ किया—परमेश्वर गवाह हैं;
For neither did we, at any time, use flattering words, or a pretext for covetousness; God is witness.
6 हमने मनुष्यों से सम्मान पाने की भी कोशिश नहीं की; न तुमसे और न किसी और से, मसीह के प्रेरित होने के कारण तुमसे सहायता पाना हमारा अधिकार था.
Neither sought we honor from men; neither from you, nor from others. We might have acted with authority, as Apostles of Christ;
7 तुम्हारे प्रति हमारा व्यवहार वैसा ही कोमल था, जैसा एक शिशु का पोषण करती माता का, जो स्वयं बड़ी कोमलतापूर्वक अपने बालकों का पोषण करती है.
but we were gentle among you, as a nurse cherishes her children--
8 इस प्रकार तुम्हारे प्रति एक मधुर लगाव होने के कारण हम न केवल तुम्हें ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार देने के लिए परंतु तुम्हारे साथ स्वयं अपना जीवन सहर्ष मिल-बांट कर संगति करने के लिए भी लालायित थे—क्योंकि तुम हमारे लिए अत्यंत प्रिय बन चुके थे.
so, having a strong affection for you, we were well pleased to have imparted to you, not only the gospel of God, but our own souls, also; because you were become dear to us.
9 प्रिय भाई बहनो, जिस समय हम तुम्हारे बीच ईश्वरीय सुसमाचार का प्रचार कर रहे थे, तुम्हें उस समय का हमारा परिश्रम तथा हमारी कठिनाइयां याद होंगी कि कैसे हमने रात-दिन श्रम किया कि हम तुममें से किसी पर भी बोझ न बन जाएं.
For your remember, brethren, our labor and toil; that laboring night and day; that we might not be chargeable to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.
10 तुम इसके गवाह हो और परमेश्वर भी कि तुम सभी विश्वासियों के साथ हमारा स्वभाव कितना सच्चा, धर्मी और निर्दोष था.
You were witnesses, and God, also, in what a holy, and just, and blameless manner, we acted toward you that believe.
11 तुम्हें यह भी मालूम है कि जैसे पिता अपनी निज संतान के लिए करता है, उसी प्रकार हम तुममें से हर एक को
As, also, you know, how we addressed every one of you as a father his own children, exhorting and comforting you;
12 प्रोत्साहित करते हुए, सांत्वना और प्रेरणा देते हुए रहे, कि तुम्हारा स्वभाव परमेश्वर के योग्य हो, जिन्होंने तुम्हें अपने राज्य और महिमा में बुलाया है.
and testifying that you should walk worthy of God, who has called you to his kingdom of glory.
13 यही कारण है कि हम भी परमेश्वर के प्रति निरंतर धन्यवाद प्रकट करते हैं कि जिस समय तुमने हमसे परमेश्वर के वचन के संदेश को स्वीकार किया, तुमने इसे किसी मनुष्य के संदेश के रूप में नहीं परंतु उसकी सच्चाई में अर्थात् परमेश्वर ही के वचन के रूप में ग्रहण किया, जो तुममें, जिन्होंने विश्वास किया है, कार्य भी कर रहा है.
On this account, also, we give thanks to God, without ceasing, that when you received from us this message of God, you embraced not the word of men; but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which, indeed, works effectually in you who believe.
14 क्योंकि प्रिय भाई बहनो, तुम मसीह येशु में परमेश्वर की उन कलीसियाओं के शिष्य बन गए हो, जो यहूदिया प्रदेश में हैं—तुमने भी स्वदेशवासियों द्वारा दिए गये उसी प्रकार के दुःखों को सहा है, जैसे यहूदिया प्रदेशवासियों ने यहूदियों द्वारा दिए गए दुःखों को,
For you, brethren, became imitators of the congregations of God which are in Judea, in Christ Jesus; because you also have suffered like things from your own countrymen, even as they have from the Jews,
15 जिन्होंने प्रभु येशु मसीह तथा भविष्यद्वक्ताओं दोनों ही की हत्या की. इसके अलावा उन्होंने हमें भी वहां से निकाल दिया. वे परमेश्वर को क्रोधित कर रहे हैं तथा वे सभी के विरोधी हैं.
who both killed the Lord, and the prophets, and have greatly persecuted us, and do not please God, and are contrary to all men;
16 जब हम अन्यजातियों को उनके उद्धार के विषय में संदेश देने का काम करते हैं, वे हमारी उद्धार की बातें बताने में बाधा खड़ी करते हैं. इसके फलस्वरूप वे स्वयं अपने ही पापों का घड़ा भर रहे हैं. अंततः उन पर परमेश्वर का क्रोध आ ही पड़ा है.
hindering us to speak to the Gentiles, that they may be saved; so that they fill up their iniquities always: but the wrath of God is coming upon them at length.
17 किंतु, प्रिय भाई बहनो, जब हम तुमसे थोड़े समय के लिए अलग हुए थे (शारीरिक रूप से, न कि आत्मिक रूप से), तुम्हें सामने देखने की हमारी लालसा और भी अधिक प्रबल हो गई थी.
Now, we, brethren, being separated from you for a short time, in presence, not in heart, the more abundantly endeavored, with great desire, to see your face.
18 हम चाहते थे कि आकर तुमसे भेंट करें—विशेषकर मैं, पौलॉस, तो एक नहीं, अनेक बार चाह रहा था किंतु शैतान ने हमारे प्रयास निष्फल कर दिए.
Therefore, we would have come to you (even I, Paul, ) once and again, but the adversary hindered us.
19 कौन हैं हमारी आशा, आनंद तथा उल्लास का मुकुट? क्या हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह के दोबारा आगमन के अवसर पर उनकी उपस्थिति में तुम ही नहीं?
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of glorying? Are not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, at his coming?
20 हां, तुम्हीं तो हमारा गौरव तथा आनंद हो.
You, indeed, are our glory and our joy.
