1 शमूएल 3

1 उस समय बालक शमुएल एली के सामने याहवेह की सेवा कर रहा था. उन दिनों याहवेह का वचन दुर्लभ था; और दर्शन कम मिलते थे.

And the boy Samuel ministered to Jehovah before Eli. And the word of Jehovah was rare in those days; a vision was not frequent.

2 यह वह स्थिति थी, जब एली के आंखों की रोशनी कम हो रही थी; तब वह स्पष्ट देखने में असमर्थ था, उस समय वह अपने कमरे में लेटा हुआ था.

And it came to pass at that time, when Eli lay in his place (now his eyes began to grow dim, he could not see),

3 शमुएल भी याहवेह के मंदिर में विश्राम कर रहा था. वही परमेश्वर का संदूक था और परमेश्वर का दीप अब तक बुझा नहीं था.

and the lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel lay in the temple of Jehovah, where the ark of God was,

4 याहवेह ने शमुएल को पुकारा. शमुएल ने उत्तर दिया, “आज्ञा दीजिए, मैं यहां हूं.”

that Jehovah called to Samuel. And he said, Here am I.

5 और वह दौड़कर एली के पास जा पहुंचे और कहने लगे, “आपने मुझे पुकारा है, मैं हूं यहां.” मगर एली ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “नहीं तो; मैंने तुम्हें नहीं पुकारा. जाओ सो जाओ.” शमुएल जाकर सो गए.

And he ran to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I did not call: lie down again. And he went and lay down.

6 तब याहवेह ने शमुएल को पुनः पुकारा, “शमुएल!” तब शमुएल उठकर एली के पास गए और कहा, “आपने मुझे पुकारा है, मैं यहां हूं.” मगर एली ने उससे कहा, “मैंने तुम्हें नहीं पुकारा, मेरे पुत्र जाओ, जाकर सो जाओ.”

And Jehovah called again, Samuel! And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I did not call, my son: lie down again.

7 शमुएल को अब तक याहवेह का अनुभव नहीं था, और न ही अब तक उन पर याहवेह के संदेश का कोई प्रकाशन ही हुआ था.

Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, neither had the word of Jehovah yet been revealed to him.

8 अब याहवेह ने तीसरी बार पुकारा, “शमुएल!” तब वह उठा और उठकर एली के पास गया और उनसे कहा, “मैं आ गया; आपने मुझे पुकारा है.” तब एली को यह अहसास हुआ कि यह याहवेह है, जो शमुएल को पुकार रहे हैं.

And Jehovah called again the third time, Samuel! And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And Eli perceived that Jehovah was calling the boy.

9 तब एली ने शमुएल से कहा, “जाकर सो जाओ. जब वह तुम्हें पुकारे तो कहना, ‘याहवेह, आप कहिए. आपका सेवक सुन रहा है.’” तब शमुएल अपने बिछौने पर जाकर लेट गए.

And Eli said to Samuel, Go, lie down; and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Jehovah, for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

10 तब याहवेह आए, शमुएल के निकट खड़े हुए और पहले जैसे पुकारा, “शमुएल! शमुएल!” शमुएल ने उत्तर दिया, “आप कहिए, आपका सेवक सुन रहा है.”

And Jehovah came, and stood, and called as at the other times, Samuel, Samuel! And Samuel said, Speak, for thy servant heareth.

11 याहवेह ने शमुएल से कहा, “सुनो, मैं इस्राएल राष्ट्र में कुछ ऐसा करने पर हूं, कि जो कोई उसके विषय में सुनेगा, उसके दोनों कान झनझना उठेंगे.

And Jehovah said to Samuel, Behold, I do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

12 उस दिन मैं एली के विरुद्ध शुरू से लेकर अंत तक वह सब करूंगा, जो मैंने उसके परिवार के विषय में कहा है.

In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house; I will begin and make an end.

13 क्योंकि मैं उसे यह सूचित कर चुका हूं, कि जिस अपराध के विषय में उसे पूरा ज्ञान था, उसके लिए मैं उसके परिवार को स्थायी दंड दूंगा; क्योंकि उसके पुत्र परमेश्वर का अपमान करते रहे हैं; फिर भी एली ने उन्हें नहीं रोका.

For I have declared to him that I will judge his house for ever, for the iniquity which he hath known: because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

14 तब एली के परिवार के संबंध में मैंने यह शपथ ली है, कि एली के परिवार का अपराध का प्रायश्चित कभी भी, न तो किसी बलि से, और न किसी भेंट से हो सकेगा.”

And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be expiated with sacrifice or oblation for ever.

15 शमुएल प्रातःकाल तक अपने बिछौने पर लेटा रहा. फिर उसने याहवेह के भवन के द्वार खोल दिया. रात के दिव्य दर्शन के विषय में एली को बताने में उसे भय लग रहा था,

And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of Jehovah. And Samuel feared to declare the vision to Eli.

16 मगर एली ने उसे पुकारा, “शमुएल, मेरे पुत्र.” शमुएल ने उत्तर दिया, “आज्ञा दीजिए, मैं यहां हूं.”

And Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he said, Here am I.

17 “क्या कहा याहवेह ने?” एली ने उससे पूछा. “मुझसे कुछ भी न छुपाना. जो उन्होंने तुमसे कहा है उसमें से यदि तुम मुझसे कुछ भी छिपाओ, परमेश्वर तुम्हें कठोर से कठोर दंड दें.”

And he said, What is the word that he has spoken to thee? I pray thee, keep it not back from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou keep back anything from me of all the word that he spoke to thee.

18 तब शमुएल ने उन्हें सब कुछ बता दिया, कुछ भी नहीं छिपाया. यह सब सुन एली ने कहा, “वह याहवेह हैं; जो कुछ उन्हें सही लगे, करें.”

And Samuel told him all the words, and kept nothing back from him. And he said, It is Jehovah: let him do what is good in his sight.

19 शमुएल विकास होता गया; उस पर याहवेह की विशेष कृपादृष्टि थी तब उसका कोई भी वक्तव्य कभी निरर्थक सिद्ध नहीं हुआ.

And Samuel grew, and Jehovah was with him, and let none of his words fall to the ground.

20 दान प्रदेश से लेकर बेअरशेबा तक सारा इस्राएल राष्ट्र को यह पता चल गया कि शमुएल याहवेह द्वारा समर्थित भविष्यद्वक्ता हैं.

And all Israel, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, knew that Samuel was established a prophet of Jehovah.

21 एक बार फिर याहवेह ने शीलो नगर में अपना दर्शन दिया, क्योंकि शीलो नगर में ही याहवेह ने अपने वचन द्वारा स्वयं को शमुएल पर प्रकाशित किया था.

And Jehovah appeared again at Shiloh; for Jehovah revealed himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the word of Jehovah.
